    Make sure that sensor isnt worn down that the light is on. Those sensors are one time use. I learned the hard way. The front sensor was different from rear as it liked to see continuity and the rear didnt.

    Thank you. The dealer wanted a ton on money to do this. I've done a ton of brakes before and I figured the high cost meant it was a difficult job. Looks like any other standard brake these days.

    Adjustment procedure is wrong.
    It’s supposed to be adjust till disc requires at least 40nm to move with a torque wrench but no more than 90nm. So it shouldn’t be locked up.
    Then turn back the adjuster exactly 8 clicks.

    How exactly do you put the vehicle into service mode?

    • @RimmerBrosTV
      @RimmerBrosTV  7 років тому +1

      Ha, yeah, Hans is pretty horizontal! As for service mode:
      In the car with ignition in Position II, press the brake pedal three times and hold the pedal down.
      Push down on the EPB switch for 3-5 seconds.
      Go to the main fuse box in the engine bay and remove FL8 fuse 30A (pink Fuse) this will ensure that the EPB is not accidentally re-engaged.

    Hello, do you know on a 2012 RRS HSE, you HAVE to replace the rotors as well?

    • @RimmerBrosTV
      @RimmerBrosTV  3 роки тому

      A very common quandary. We would always advise to replace both at the same time. Discs may not look too badly worn but they have a certain heat capacity when new. As the disc wears this capacity is reduced and can transfer it to the fluid, caliper etc and cause damage or serious reduction in efficiency. Having said that, it's not a hard and fast rule. You may be quite satisfied with the performance of your brakes if you just change the pads. But as I said, we would always recommend changing both. Hope that helps.

    When I get to the 2:45 mark, I can't turn my rotor to 11 o'clock.
    My 2011 Ranger Rover sport automatically turns the parking brake on if I put it in neutral and don't have it running. I don't want to work on the car while running because I'm in an enclosed space, nor am I sure it would turn anyways.
    What gear are you in for this? I assume neutral. How did you get the car to stay in neutral without the parking brake on?

    • @davidktd
      @davidktd 6 років тому

      FunInfusedGames how do you cope with something like a car wash? Engine has to be off and car in neutral otherwise the car can't be pulled through the car wash

    • @RimmerBrosTV

      Hi Alfie Dog, brake pads are usually changed once worn (when low or worn unevenly) Your local garage will be able to suggest more accurately what to keep an eye on.

    Saludos desde Costa Rica, no se necesita computadora para abrir el freno de mano eléctrico, y poder cambiar las pads?

    • @RimmerBrosTV
      @RimmerBrosTV  4 роки тому +1

      Hola, Alan. No, pero debe poner el vehículo en "Modo de servicio" antes de emprender esta tarea. En el coche con encendido en la posición II, presione el pedal del freno tres veces y mantenga pulsado el pedal.
      Empuje hacia abajo en el interruptor EPB durante 3-5 segundos.
      Ir a la caja de fusibles principal en la bahía del motor y quitar el fusible FL8 30A (fusible rosa) esto asegurará que el EPB no se vuelva a activar accidentalmente.

      Diríamos que es posible, pero tendría que traducir su manual de propietarios o preguntar a un distribuidor. Además, definitivamente cambiar el aceite de caja automática. Si usted puede conseguir que alguien para hacer un rubor es mucho mejor y la caja automática tendrá una vida más larga. Tenemos un video sobre el uso de una máquina de lavado.
