I bought my el Camino with a mix of blue, tan, black, and red interior. Used your website and went all black aside from the dash is still red. Great video going to remove my dash soon
Could you tell me if you're referring to the hex head or the thread? The hex head yes, I believe it is 5.5mm and the thread is almost like a wood screw, they are very odd.
I have a 1984 Buick regal dashboard that I want to install in my 1981 Malibu. My question is, will the instrument cluster bucket from the 81 Malibu fit into the 84 regal dashboard. I don't have the plastic bezel/bucket (I'm not sure what to call it) but it's the part that that cluster sits in that's retained by the 4 in each corner screws. I hate to take it all apart just to try and fit it.
@@DixieRestorationDepot are you sure? I want to use the entire dashboard cluster and the cluster holder with the gauges from the Malibu and put it on the regal dashboard. You know just take the 4 screws that hold that square plastic thing that the gauges sit into. I don't want to use the regal gauges as that would mean alot of rewiring. I want to keep the Malibu setup. Aren't the dashboard the same in the area where that square plastic gauge holder mounts to the dash?

You will need the entire cluster from the regal as they are quite a bit different.

Is removal of the steering wheel required or just recommended?
It makes life a bit easier, but you don't have to remove the wheel.
