Even though I miss Chris's unique tone in Hybrid's music, I have loved every album both before and after he left... Having said that. Falling Down and Higher than a Skyscraper will always be my favorite Hybrid tracks. There's something there that is undeniably unique that I can't find in any other band.
The part that has impressed me the most is that Mike has never stopped evolving Hybrid's rich aesthetic and nailing the execution ever since I first discovered Hybrid on the b-sides of a few trance vinyls my mate started buying 25 years ago. His creative streak still refuses to lag behind his production skill. I still love so many tracks from every stage of growth. All contributors in those projects made every stage something a lot more interesting that more of the same.
Anthpny Hood > "Genre?" Mrwa1one > "Progressive house/breaks" Nah, it's just Hybrid. Like Orbital, Hybrid are one of those bands that's stepped outside classification to make one of their own. Anyone who like Hybrid knows quality in music.
Open my eyes But I can't see where you are Hold up my hands But I can't reach that far Breathing you in Your taste is still on my lips I need to feel close Touch fingertips Like rivers We all run into the sea I can hear now The waves are crashing on me Tumbling, tumbling Tumbling, tumbling (There's no place to stop) Tumbling, tumbling Tumbling, tumbling (Who will be my rock?) Tumbling, tumbling (There's no place to stop) Tumbling, tumbling (Who will be my rock?) I'm falling down Falling through oceans of clouds Only fallen angels sing this loud Lines on my face I write only for you Please understand the words I need you to An open book To read my secrets inside It all starts here With no end in sight If only you'd catch me Safe in your arms Your love would wash over Guiding me down Tumbling, tumbling (There's no place to stop) Tumbling, tumbling (Who will be my rock?) Where did they take the photograph? It looks... very familiar. The style of apartments and the conifers, the dirt mountains with receding treelines... All of this looks like a certain region I know....
@@katyisgone Mike Truman's talent for composition matches his production mastery. I am guessing it's using one of the modes that lean on the minor progressions hiding in the major scale. These often give the melody an exotic flavor 🎐

Open my eyes
But I can't see where you are
Hold up my hands
But I can't reach that far
Breathing you in
Your taste is still on my lips
I need to feel close
Touch fingertips
Like rivers
We all run into the sea
I can hear now
The waves are crashing on me
Tumbling, tumbling
Tumbling, tumbling
(There's no place to stop)
Tumbling, tumbling
Tumbling, tumbling
(Who will be my rock?)
Tumbling, tumbling
(There's no place to stop)
Tumbling, tumbling
(Who will be my rock?)
I'm falling down
Falling through oceans of clouds
Only fallen angels sing this loud
Lines on my face
I write only for you
Please understand the words
I need you to
An open book
To read my secrets inside
It all starts here
With no end in sight
If only you'd catch me
Safe in your arms
Your love would wash over
Guiding me down
Tumbling, tumbling
(There's no place to stop)
Tumbling, tumbling
(Who will be my rock?)
I'm falling down
Falling through oceans of clouds
Only fallen angels sing this loud
Tumbling, tumbling
Tumbling, tumbling
Tumbling, tumbling
Tumbling, tumbling
Tumbling, tumbling
(There's no place to stop)
Tumbling, tumbling
(Who will be my rock?)
I'm falling down
Falling through oceans of clouds
Only fallen angels sing this loud
Falling down
Over and over
Falling down

Huh. Listening to the verse again, I think you're right. Totally wouldn't have called that.

+Sheryl S. A major key sounds happy, and minor key sounds sad
