Happy Friday! This recipe is from the archives with one big change - I swapped the flour with oat flour so now they can meet your gluten-free needs! Enjoy! XO - Dani
Would you please consider showing us how to use dates as a sweetener in recipes? Like instead of the maple syrup maybe dates blended with more water would work? The sugar content would probably be the same but at least it would have a little more fiber.
I tried this recipe today and it's so delicious. I didn't have any black beans, so I used a can of white kidney beans instead and coffee instead of water. Very fudgy and great flavor.
Oh my, such deliciousness!! I made this and took them to work. My coworkers loved them! No one could guess that they had black beans in them. Will certainly be making them again.
I made them today and they are really good and so rich in taste! I didn't make the frosting, because I'm on a weightloss journey. This is a snack I don't feel guilty about, because it's so healthy. You have the healthy carbs from the oats, proteine and fiber from the beans and anti-oxidants from the cacao and nuts. Thank you for sharing this recipe :o)
Thank you, muchly, for this vegan recipe!! My granddaughter and I recently had a discussion about how much she dislikes avocados and will never eat them. I’m going to make a batch of these brownies, another batch of vegan avocado brownies and a batch w/ vegan boxed brownies (w/ flax eggs and applesauce). I’ll label them a,b, c, and let the family sample w/o telling her differences. She has no food allergies or I wouldn’t try this. Can’t wait to try.
I made these brownies this evening and wanted to tell of a mistake I made. When I rinsed and drained the Black beans I didn't wait long enough for them to dry enough. When I mixed them in the blender with everything else my batter was too thin and it took almost 46 minutes to totally cook in the oven.
I made these yesterday, I only used 1/2 cup maple syrup, I also added a bit more coconut oil in frosting & placed in the microwave at very low power just to make the frosting spreadable. I placed them in the refrigerator for a few hours like she said & cut them into 9 squares but found them too big, so I cut each square in half. I put them back in the fridge to keep them cold like she said & found them to be very dry & the frosting was hard, chewy & blah, I was disappointed so I decided to leave them out on the counter overnight & omg a complete game changer, they are now soft & chewy & the frosting creamy & delicious. I will definitely make them again. Another thing I would suggest is to oil & then line your pan with parchment paper overlapping the edges for easy removal of brownie before cutting them into squares. Cool them in the fridge & cut them cold & they make the most perfect looking brownies, but after that I would leave them out on counter.
LOVE this recipe! Perfect brownies and now my wife insists I make our desserts. Five stars for your excellent recipe and presentation! Since good maple syrup is expensive…. I tweaked the frosting. Instead of maple syrup I fine-cut 6-8 Medjool dates, soak them in warm water a few minutes, then stir them into the cacao /coconut oil mix instead of the maple syrup. I find using some plant milk helps thin out this thicker frosting, but the taste is awesome on your perfect brownies.
Dani, this recipe is SO good! I made a mistake and forgot to add the baking powder, and it still turned out fantastic! Very fudgy, yum! Topped off the icing with some flaky sea salt- so good. Thank you for sharing! 💛
just made this. i would say i can definitely taste the black bean and the oat flour, but its maybe because i grind both my oat flour and bean mix at the kitchen aid blender lowest setting. I live in small studio apartment and worried about making too much noise and annoying neighbours. still delicious and i will eat this over a traditional brownie any day.
I made these and they're a great alternative to using wheat or GF flours! Next time I will up the flavor factor by using brewed coffee in place of the water in the recipe. Coffee really enhances the chocolate flavor! But, if you are sensitive to coffee, the recipe is still great.
Wow!!! These were so delicious! I can't wait to share these with my daughter. They are deliciously fudgy, not too sweet (which is huge for me) and have a great chocolate flavor. The bean flavor doesn't come through at all, but that doesn't surprise me. I added some stevia chocolate chips, but left the nuts out this time (want my daughter to be able to bring some to school). Brilliant and I'll be making these again, for sure!!!
Hi Dani,I tried the recipe yesterday and it turned out super delicious. My husband and kids couldn’t believe there was black beans in it.The brownie was super moist a day after. Thanks for the awesome recipe!
This is probably the best black bean recipe I’ve seen by far! I also dare to say trying this no bake is even better. 😊 I did make some slight modifications but definitely my new go to instead of reaching for packaged sweets! Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe!
These look so good! I prefer my brownies with frosting. And I love hiding whole ingredients in recipes like this. It's a win-win. Thanks, as always, for the recipe.
i just made these. the texture is more of the fudgy type of brownie vs cakey. not a fan of the frosting, so i scraped it off. the frosting was too bitter probably because i used cacao powder, but i normally don’t care if there is frosting on brownies to begin with. i’m not a huge fan of maple syrup in all of the baked goods because i feel like it has a distinct and noticeable taste. i will probably make these again but use a different sweetener. thanks for the recipe.
This is fun! I already make a “mystery cake” recipe every Christmas. It’s main ingredient is a can of tomato soup. Now, I can include this recipe. I’ll bake into mini loaves and give as gifts. Mystery cake, apple cake, pumpkin bread, and now include black bean brownies . . . One of each. I love it!! The mystery cake is from an old Joy of cooking book.
I made this brownie, is goood, i only sustitute agave for regular sugar.... For me was a bit sweet, but consistency, density was delicious Thank you so much for this recipe
I just want to say thank you so much for this recipe! I was in the mood for some black bean brownies, and I have been trying recipes left and right, but didn’t feel like using the one I had on hand because it jus wasn’t that great. I will be keeping your recipe as a staple now and my go to recipe for black bean brownies. I immediately made them after watching this video, and they are delicious! You definitely have a new subscriber.❤
I noticed that when you made the chocolate icing it looked kind of thick, but when you spread it on the brownie it was much smoother to spread more easily? Does it thin out a little when sitting?
Hi Dani, my name is Sharon and I am new to your channel. I started off making yout brownies. I did exactly how you instructed. When the timmer went off and I check to see if was done using a toothpick it wasn't so I started the timer again for an additional 35 min. This is my first time cooking this and i am a person who don't take disappointment well do right I am hopeing for the best. Love what I have been seeing on you cooking and giving wonderful.
Ty Dani for this Eggless Recipe. I have allergy to them. VERY HELPFUL Honey. Ty. I've been craving brownies too. Going to make these for my Birthday this Friday!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Cannot wait to try these. I have seen your first Black Bean Brownie recipe but I never have gotten around to trying them. Now that they're frosted I definitely have to try these.
I just found your channel and I'm so happy I did. I cannot wait to order your book. I'm trying to eat as clean as possible so your recipes are right up my ally.
I’ve always ignored the many vegan black bean brownie recipes cuz I don’t like brownies, and I don’t like black beans but I bot some for emergency food so I have two cans about to expire. Not much choice of recipes for black beans out there 😖 You PROMISED I won’t be able to tell they are in there so maybe I’ll try this! 😂🤣Thx!
Hi I have a question please. When you stay two tablespoons of melted coconut oil are you referring to two tablespoons before melting or after melting? Thank you very much
Looking forward to train a brownie with black beans!! 😮 considering I’ve never liked beans 🫘 of any type, in my entire life, this will be quite interesting! 😊
Most people need train their guts to digest beans. Go slow and build up so they dont cause bloating gas. Then keep beans in your regular diet to digest them well. 💕
This might be a stupid question but i dont Normally use canned beans. I soak and cook beans. So question is- canned beans are cooked or raw here? Also if cooked, what level of softness?

Wow so exciting. Have you ever added in spinach too? Yum, tx. Holiday blessings 🙏

Oooh, coffee in place of water sounds like a fanTAStic idea!

Here is an update on the brownies they came out great and was so delicious. I guess i need to learn to be alittle patient.

Your recipes never disappoint 🥰 was literally dancing while eating it
These brownies are perfect. By far the best brownies I’ve ever had. The only alteration I made was substituting the water for milk.
What type of milk did you use?
Cow milk
I made these black beans brownies and they were so so delicious. I never made brownies before. I am thinking about making some more soon.
Dani, this recipe is SO good! I made a mistake and forgot to add the baking powder, and it still turned out fantastic! Very fudgy, yum! Topped off the icing with some flaky sea salt- so good. Thank you for sharing! 💛
Isn't it amazing when you make a crucial mistake and it still works out 😅
@@e_i_e_i_bro Truly! 😆 I started to top my brownie pieces w a drizzle of pb and fresh berries- yummm!

Treat each day like a gift.
I tried over a dozen different recipes for vegan brownies and this one is the best for me as the base recipe with minor mods to suite my taste. 👍
I made these and they're a great alternative to using wheat or GF flours!

Slamming these down wirh a protein shake ...ohhh ya!!!! 🧂

Did you microwave the frosting before adding to the brownies? Wondering how you got the thick, fudgy frosting so pourable. Thanks in advance!
Hi I have a question please. When you stay two tablespoons of melted coconut oil are you referring to two tablespoons before melting or after melting? Thank you very much

Is it possible to use something else than maple syrup?
I'm going to try this, thank you.
Looks delicious!

How long do they keep in the fridge?
can i use stevia instead of maple syrup?
Going to try this recipe ASAP!!!😃
Made them ❤ delicious!
if i use a different sweetener than maple syrup like honey or raw sugar, would it be an equal replacement or do i use less?
Hi! These were delicious! But how could I substitute the maple syrup for next time? Because maple syrup is expensive
Yum! Definitely trying this!
These look so good! Yum. Could I substitute agave syrup instead of maple syrup? Thank you. Blessings from Mexico
