Well, a transnational corporation told you for almost the entirety of 2020 that it is the king of loading speeds, and that PCs would have to play catch up and it's main rival, the xbox, is slow af. So everyone is glued to this vid because it undoes a year of both the corporation and its kids shouting in everyone's ears that "we have the best ssd Hahahaha" So yeah, it's a lol moment for the world back.
Yeah I think most people take that for granted. A lot of the loading screen tests are shown when it's booting up the game from the start but realistically the most common load times are gonna be fast traveling or loading up save files
@Levi Ackerman it's not even optimised for series x either. Truth is ps5 SSD is relying on raw speed while series x is using its extra cpu power with Xbox velocity architecture and direct storage api for faster compression and decompression. So even optimised next gen games can also give similar results in both consoles.
Before anyone starts saying “these games aren’t optimized for PS5”, they aren’t optimized for Series X EITHER, Digital Foundry confirmed these games aren’t using Velocity architecture, this is just raw SSD at work for both, and I gotta say I’m surprised and impressed!
It could matter. It's possible that the PS5 loads current gen titles slower but next gen titels faster. Maybe the Series X is also faster with loading next gen titels. Also we don't just have loading times while staring a game but also in game. We saw that the Series X can load current gen titles fast (sometimes massively faster) than the PS5

@Filipe Baleijo I don’t know. I was trying to get them to understand but it just wasn’t working. I’m not really one sided or bias myself. I admit to Th e fact that the PS4 was significantly better that the Xbox one. But this year things have turned around. But the only reason why people are just going to assume that the ps5 is better is because of how many sales and how much more popular the PS4 was.
@Filipe Baleijo You do you mate. A lot of this is souly down to personal preference. I just happen to preferred everything about Xbox. And I have had both so I can make good enough judgment to decide whether I want the Xbox or ps. Honestly I should really take your advice. I’m not gonna bother with people trying to force opinions down eachother. I’m not a console war starter or anything I would just like to see Xbox do well. The ps franchise is obviously more popular and have outsold Xbox by a large margin. But because it’s more popular doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better. But ya once again thanks.

@_ Chris you know i hate when you narrow minded people use the exclusive card, it's actually really stupid, as i have said in a previous post. exclusives make up a very small% of games on a platform. most exclusives have ZERO replay value, lets take a deep look borderlands 3 is it an exclusive, no are people still playing the hell out of it over say god of war, hell to the yes. so exclusives mean nothing if you are getting tops 1 month worth of value.

Miles Morales is _not_ half a second to load into the game - all that interior transition says is that they have enough RAM to not bother unloading the exterior in the first place.

Soooo technically even those it is a “backwards compatibility” game, it was updated for next gen and still beat ps5’s load times by more than 10 seconds.... also none of the games were “optimized” for Xbox. They were both on equal footing. None of these games were geared more for Xbox or gave Xbox a clear advantage just because of “backwards compatibility” also ps5’s claimed 5.5 Gb/s vs Xbox’s 2.4 Gb/s should have given ps5 a clear advantage regardless of “backwards compatibility”.... PS5 SSD is supposedly nearly doubled Xbox’s and still lost by a large margin. Also ps5’s full 16gb of ram is the same speed as Xbox’s and Xbox only has 10gb of ram rubbing at the same speed with the remaining 6gb being slower. So ps5 (spec wise) theoretically should have had the clear advantage.... don’t use “BC” as an excuse for ps5 losing....

Xbox was optimized for old games while PS5 wasnt. Thats all this means. Its irrelevant. No one cares about old games. PS5 SSD is 130% faster which is why Miles Moreals and Demon Souls loading times put the xbone series x to shame.
PS5 ssd is far more custom. These games will not take advantage of 12 channel memory controllers at all. Look at miles morales loading, and that's just a crossgen game, but it has been optimised. Wait until games are built from the ground up for the ps5 ssd.
What this shows is that loading a game or level isn't just about how fast you can move data from storage to Ram. But also how quickly you can move it from ram to the CPU and GPU and then back to ram again. I think the difference in load times we are seeing here is showing the advantage in memory bandwidth the XSX has over the PS5 as well as the more powerful CPU.
No it's not that, it's more likely the CPU decompression advantage the CPU in the series X is quite a bit faster than the one in the PlayStation 5 and the games right now aren't using the custom decompression blocks for either system so it's relying on the CPU to decompress.
@@AceDonMcGun as I said the more powerful CPU of the XSX is part of the difference. I'm certain the memory bandwidth is also a factor. Not sure how much each is contributing but since the ram has to feed the data to the CPU and then back out to ram I'm certain both are factors.

@Levi Ackerman exactly. Plus the xbox needed to come guns blazing this gen bc of the last generation being a blow out.

I swear I kept hearing from everyone and their mommas that the PS5 was gonna load faster than the Xbox due to its ''magical'' SSD
It will... but they're using PS4 games. Gamespot is tricking you into thinking this is how fast the PS5 is, and it is... at loading PS4 games. It's going to be much faster at loading PS5 games.
@@ProbablePaul the load times should not be this bad. Clearly their architecture is bottle necking. It's very common in PCs at the moment
@@ProbablePaul series x loads the same games. Fact is that the Xbox is faster
@@ProbablePaul so? They’re using Xbox one games in this test so that’s irrelevant . Ps5 will still be slower once they are both using next gen versions of games
@@BenDover-sc7yu you’re so dumb 😂
But now imagine with the quick resume feature on X everything gets taken down to about 5 seconds
yup. But the Playstation would need to wait all those minutes all over again
@@Twin.motors idk even know why people will buy the PS5 xbox beats it in everything
@@joesdarts1356 probably the exclusives.
@@TheVikingActual everyone switches back to COD,BF,or fortnite in the end exclusives dont matter in the grand scheme
@@joesdarts1356 it has very compelling exclusives and while I do believe Microsoft will eventually come to match that with all there new studios consumers are only seeing what's here right now.
For some of the people in the comments trying to start console wars. You clearly didn't see the specs review for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Xbox was shown to have a slightly higher performance than the PS5. Don't act surprised or play dumb. Maybe if you looked at the specs you would have better opinions
