I'm glad she sad 'you made a good choice Amira' because the girl really went into dept on what dog suits there family. Something a lot of adults forget to do. And she did do a good job. Problems just started later. So glad Victoria can help these people.
This particular dog does not suit the family at all. There are dogs that just aren't into being chased/hugged/squished and all the zaniness. Victoria basically told the whole family to chill and adjust to the dog's speed.
@@mikshinee87 shes still really young though, but definitely a lot of respect to her because most kids or even adults will not do any research before getting a dog.
She did great I have been doing research on the perfect dog for my family (I'm younger than ameera) for 4 years and I have lived my life with animals and I have been wanting a dog ever since I was 2 but my dad doesn't want to do everything for the dog even though my mom and my sister both want a dog as well the closest thing we got to a dog is a toy so I'm happy at least ameera got a dog it might be hard but if you really and I say REALLY want a dog you have to make an effort
@@mikshinee87 From what was shown, the family is quite calm. Ameera over handled the dog as a puppy but that was more than likely due to excitement and love. But they found common ground. All relationships are give and take.
Amira is absolutely adorable, and I'm so happy she was able to salvage the relationship with Kofi. What a great dog owner. It takes considerable guts to work with a dog that has bitten you.
Aww such a cute kid! She just wanted a dog to love ... But then overwhelmed the doggie with too much love. So happy to see they are getting on better now! 💚
Good way to explain it, getting a dog already grown and out of the box always comes with a list of issues and some will be complex. BTW this looks like a Brussels Griffin.
Amira is such a beautiful young lady, it was so heart breaking to see she was the one who wanted him and he just could not trust her. I’m happy to see that they actually have a bond now and it’s wonderful! Those parents are doing a phenomenal job at raising their children. And always, thank you Victoria for coming in and helping and giving guidance to repair the distrust and to correct the behavior. Watching your videos alone, has helped me tremendously when it comes to training my dogs.
I’m so HAPPY for Amira!!!!! She worked so hard, starting all the way from advocating for getting a dog to research to taking care of Kofi!!!! I’m so glad her effort and time are paying off!!!!
I love how he's the smallest dog and try's to start stuff with bigger dogs then backs up when they get in his face- buddy if you start stuff you have to finish it! XD
This family is such a breath of fresh air. They didn't argue with Victoria or try to break the rules behind her back, they just listened and followed the training. I love how willing they were to adapt to the dog's needs. I wish all dog owners were as responsible as them, especially with how they listened to their daughter and got a dog suited to their lifestyle. I'm so happy for them.
Not only that, but you buy a dog so that you can have a companion animal, and part of that is petting, and the fact that he does not like to be touched is a major downer, it is almost like he has A certain form of Autism or something.
Really like this family! They were switched on. I liked that they said they did research on what dog would fit them. They understood the problems and were really willing to fix them it was nice to see!
Is it just me or does the strict firm Victoria seem to have her heart melting when the doggie jumps up on her and she's just like "don't you look at me like that." Those are probably keywords for you're naughty, but you're also adorable. :P (Which is one hundred percent true btw. ;)
Ah, this is a lovely family! They just had a bit of a miscommunication with Kopy! And from the get go they were all ready to put in 100%! Even the dad that didn’t even want the dog!
I absolutely love that we get the full episodes 🙏🏻 But these episodes feel so short and we don't get to see the same amount of training as before. Love Victoria ❤️
That's wonderful. I'm glad that they're getting along better and that the family didn't get rid of him. Keep in mind that whenever you take in a pet, you don't know what they went through before they got to you, and that they have feelings and can suffer trauma just like people can. It can take time to bond with a new animal. But it's worth it in the end.
I love the idea of a production manager and Victoria plotting to put wine and cupcakes for a scenario and getting to use them for a little wrap party 😂
We had a shih Tzu growing up named sassy and she was similar to that dog but not as bad. Unfortunately she grew up with triplets and learned that snapping at us when we did something she didn’t like kept us away from her, but that actually thought us to respect her boundaries cause she was an amazing dog calm and collected wasn’t cuddly just liked to be in the same room (much like a cat) which we respected and let her come to us as we grew older our relationship became stronger and she’d get mad at me if I went on vacation lmaoo. She was the best dog ever but sometimes ppl forget that their dog has boundaries too and we have to respect it because not every dog like to be cuddled and have too much attention.
I'm so happy when the family really works to make things better!! This family was super sweet!! And Victoria, I like you so much, the work you do is fantastic
A Shih-Tzu may look like a cute little stuffed animal, but they’re still living dogs and need to be treated as such. It seems to be a common problem with small breeds.
My Shih zu poodle cross was the most loving dog you’ve ever seen but didn’t like to cuddle unless he wanted to cuddle. He absolutely loved people and would go on his tummy for tummy rubs. I was always and it was an ongoing joke that he’d probably go with anyone that paid attention to him. I always make sure to walk my dogs on the same path daily, one day a friend of mine left the front door open and instead of taking off he tools himself for a walk on the same path we always did. He passed a few years ago at 17 and I miss him everyday even though I have another dog, he was irreplaceable.
Don't avert away from taking that seriously. Aggression in any form within dogs can take a turn for the worst. If I were you, I would contact someone like Victoria to come help with the issue. There are a lot of videos she has that teaches the families how seriously they need to take things and teach them what they need to do to help the dog cope. Be careful if you decide not to get professional help though. Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt over something like that. Good luck!
Though I personally don't like retractable leashes, they aren't bad, its only when misused. In the video not once did you see the mum pull the dog away from anything aggressively with the leash. And if victoria didn't mention it in the video it's probably cause it wasn't a significant concern. Besides they are working on his reactive nature and the mom did say he hasn't been aggressive towards other dogs after starting training so the use of retractable leash is just fine.
I don't think the leash has anything much to do with it. If you train your dog to listen and follow commands early on, then you can simply tell them to return to your side during walks.
Love Victoria & her methods for training.. the only thing on this vid that I would mention is also ruling out any kind of pain for the dog by a vet but also this could have been mentioned or ruled out off video.
I feel this, this kind of happened with my last dog. Nowhere near this extreme but I hadn't had a dog in a while and when we got her I definitely overwhelmed her a bit and she ended up bonding with my husband more because he's such a calm person and that's what she needed. It always made me sad, but we developed our own special relationship over the years. She was a great trail dog, always stayed within fifteen feet of me or so with great recall and super smart so I did a lot of obedience and trick training with her. But she still always craved my husband's affection more than mine lol she'd also ditch me mid play to take her toy to him because she wanted to play with him, not me XD
I truly wish that people could understand that regardless of the size of the dog, they have personal space too. They give signs that people do not listen to and problems are created simply by ignoring the dog asking for the touch to stop. Also, imagine being busy and someone comes and picks you up and pets you and holds you and swings you around without your permission. For heavens sake. I am grateful that this family listened, paid attention, and did the work themselves to improve upon their family dynamics and relationship with that particular dog. Good job, family! Next time, remember that animals have desires and feelings as well. Please listen to them before you behave in ways that they’re uncomfortable with. they have communication just like we do but only to those who listen.
I think she should’ve investigated potential medical issues. Eating his poop and being aggressive? Are we sure there isn’t something hormonal going on? Victoria has done this before by having a vet come and talk to the families.
This is how my goldendoodle acts with my 13 year old son that wanted her so bad. She just turned two but the behavior started by 6 months and has been very hard for us. I have watched so many videos and this is the closest one to our situation. We have been to training and some tips help but she still will snap sometimes. He is same age as her and touched her constantly as that was his new puppy. Makes sense. She also barks and freaks at other things and dogs. Other than those two things her training is amazing and she is wonderful. Would love for the show to come to our house in the USA for a little more help. Thanks for these episodes.

Step one: THROW THAT DAMN LEASH AWAY! Why the hell do people with aggressive dogs use retractable leashes?
Because to them everyone else is the issue and their dog "deserves" the freedom a retractable leash offers in their eyes.

Not an angry Pitbull, a typical angry small dog that has been spoilt.
This family is so patient with this dog. I would’ve been got rid of the biting poo eating machine last year. I take my hat off to them.

First question is if you have a reactive/defensive/ aggro dog why use an extension leash? Second: great job on the follow through!!
I've had two dogs with touch sensitivity. One is pretty aversive and prefers treats or toys. One LOVES to be touched but it has to be done with care because she gets very overstimulated very quickly and will escalate to jumping on you for more.
