- Short test of the ventilated cooled seats in our second-hand UK Hyundai IONIQ Electric Premium SE.
The seats seem to blow rather than suck!
(Stock music seemed apt for hot temperatures we've had in UK...)

A buddy of mine recently bought this car and it had a ventilated seat (only drivers seat) and I got to test drive it and it was a great feeling. Especially for me as I'm a big bloke (1.9m 109 kg) and it was a hot day 😂
Thanks. Yes, I enjoyed them on those rare warm UK days...
Its my favourite feature especially when wearing shorts. One of my friends burnt his bum on the nudist beach, guess who became his driver until he healed :-)
Thanks. Priceless :)
Your channel is fantastic! I'll have in 2019 an Ioniq PHEV Style and ventilated seats are a MUST for me especially in Spain is very hot especially if you leave the car outside, you can find a lot of cars with heated seats but ventilated? Also the front parking sensors are interesting in this package, aside the electrical sunroof and electric seat driver
Thanks. We get only occasional need for the ventilated seats here but when it’s warm they’re great. Sadly we don’t get the sunroof option here. Wishing you all the best with your 2019 IONIQ ;)
Thank you for your video! Does it works well when it it hot? Personally prefer fabric seats, but this complication is more premium.
Went in one of these the other day. Wow, the computer system is so so basic and SLOW. It was like watching an acient TomTom device. It would put me off buying one alone.
I was disappointed to learn that my Ioniq Electric Ultimate in Canada (top trim) didn't have ventilated seats. :( Just heated.
That’s a shame! It’s bizarre the spec is not standard globally :(
@@ZeroTailpipe There are a few regional differences that are annoying. I started a thread about it on ioniqforum.
I really wish this feature could be added to the USA version. We only get heated seats.
We don’t get to use them much here in the U.K... but they’re nice, I agree. Shame if they’re not available for you :(
I wish to import a ioniq from UK because here in the states we do not get heated steering wheel, vented cooled seats, nor parking sensors
Hmm. Strange that they don’t provide these features to give people flexibility in various climates. A shame...
Great video (again), thanks.
Thanks :)
I find it ironic that the US version of this model doesn't come with ventilated seats
I think it's because this particular hyundai model wouldn't be popular in America and its market for the ioniq is bigger in europe
cool. thanks
You’re welcome ;)
Hello. I am enjoying your tidbits of eV info, thank you. I notice that the Kona EV can limit the current draw during charging. Can you tell me if this is something the Ioniq can do as well please?
Thanks! Yes. The IONIQ can do something similar. There’s a video someone has put up with multimeter showing the different current draws... I’ll try to find it...
Thanks, that would be great if you could as I couldn't find anything. The reason I am interested is because I charge my Leaf from PV panels at home. The grannie charger draws 10A (2.3kWh) When I get 2.5kWh+ from the panels that is fine, but on an overcast day when the PV output goes to maybe 6 or 7 amps I take some from the PV and some from the grid. If I control the current draw, as seems possible with the Kona, I can then set it to just below my PV output and get free driving. I know it is me being Posbie but it's all a game isn't it?
I have found the video you were referring to. Low, medium and high varies the current to 6, 8 or 11 amps. If the Kona is the same it will be just what I want. Thanks.
Great! (This was the one I’d seen: m.ua-cam.com/video/ku9XI0EuvK8/v-deo.html)
Thanks. All good stuff.
I have the top model in canada and am missing this option and am not happy about it!
I can understand that :)
