- Not too much to say about this Mai Tai variant other than that is was created by Clancy Carroll in 2000 and was uncovered and re-popularized by Jeff "Beachbum" Berry. It is super refreshing, beautiful to look at and feels like a vacation. Now with summer coming to a close, it's more important than ever to keep those vacation vibes going! Hope You guys enjoy!

Whoa whoa whoa. No “WHATS UP GUYS! Welcome back to the Educated Barfly!” ?
Love the shirt! 😀 p.s. awaiting a delivery of 2 different bottles of Umeshu!
This looks beautiful
I 100% agree about Plantation 3 Star being a go-to work horse rum. So delicious and very reasonably priced. Additionally, I can find a KILLER deal on the 1.75L bottle of the Plantation 5 Year, and then the Plantation OFTD is one of my favorite dark rums. You'd think I own stock in that distillery, hah!
Damn I was so proud I noticed the shirt within the first few seconds
Oohh, I think I'll try this tonight. Also, love your shirt :)
Marius doesn't deserve to be talked to like that!
FYI, the "lock" also comes from the air getting well chilled (and thereby "shrinking")
I won't tell you to smile, but I like it when you do. :-)
I know people mean well when customers tell you to smile but when I'm really busy pumping out the drinks, I have game face on and I have no time to smile!! hahah
An episode where you and marrias or someone else taste classic cocktails would be awesome. To see a master bartender VS a regular drinker's perspective on drinks.
Wish I saw portions I could serve in Canada
the colour reminds me of a favorite of mine the blue Hawaiian. Rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, banana juice (no idea where you would even find that) and a dash of light cream. Read about it in The Bartender's Guide by Peter Bohrmann. also seen it with banana juice and cream replaced with coconut juice
That looks fantastic. I’m a Tiki fanatic and was not familiar with the Marlin. Thanks once again Fly Man. The only reason I don’t make one right now is I just ran out of orgeat 2 days ago and it takes an hour+ to make. I’ve never found a commercial orgeat that I like.
Any chance to do a Ray's Mistake? I know not so "complex" tasting as your other stuff but would be nice homage to a local legend.
Its such a cool colour !
Sounds like there needs to be a bartender handshake cocktail called a 'Smile'.
The great thing about cocktail recipes is that you get to tweak 'em. For me, this was a little too sweet. After a couple of sips I freehanded some more citrus into the glass. Upon re-consideration of the spec, next time I would bump the lime and lemon juices to 1 oz. each.
