So helpful. I've only just started knitting Fair Isle and Continental style so hadn't even heard of steeking until a couple of weeks ago. This video makes it look straightforward but I shall be taking great care when I give it a go!!

I have never steeked, now I think I can 😅. Never realised it was so simple and the finish was tidy. Thank you very much; from Australia 🐨🐨🦘🦘

I'd imagine the stage where you're picking up stitches would work excellently with a Tunisian crochet hook and then transferring onto a knitting needle

HI Freya - yes - that's a great idea! (We love Tunisian crochet, so another use for a a lovely long hook makes us very happy!!) Love Merion and the LoveCrafts team xx

Is there a pattern for the mug cozy? I'd love a video on finishing steeked edges.

Yes please! I agree on the need for a video on encapsulating the steek as shown on the mug cozy. PLEASE

Can you steek to create a dart in a garment? ie not along a straight vertical row of stitching?

Theoretically yes but it would be advisable to use a sewing machine to secure the fabric before you cut! Norwegian steeking techniques often suggest the use of a sewing machine to secure shaping for steeks that are for necklines and armholes - so I guess it's possible, but unless your colourwork is where you want the dart to be, I suspect it would be easier to create the shaping with stitches! Hope that helps! Kindest, Merion x
