Just so you're aware, the grey square that moves when you wrench an LV+ machine isn't an electricity input, but is an item output that you can toggle on inside the machine UI.
A little cheeky trick that I saw on the discord recently - shooting yourself with the cookie arrows (with a dispenser etc.) gives you a diamond! It doesn't do any damage either so you can put it on a clock. You can use these diamonds as fuel with a very long burn time, or I'm sure you could find some other uses.
Loving the series, I can’t believe you actually got this far. In terms of things to do next: The bending machine lets you make plates at a 1 ingot to 1 plate ratio The assembling machine will let you make lv circuit components at a much cheaper rate and is so worth it. It’ll require a fluid extractor though. You can also make crop sticks, torches, hoppers, chests ect for a quarter of the price. The cutting machine and lathe will let you make rods and screws at a much cheaper rate, halving the resource costs I believe. You need to learn how electricity works before it blows up your base lol. An lv generator produces 32 volts, if you put that through red alloy cable which only takes 8 volts the cable will get set on fire and disappear. If your machines are next to a fire block they have a chance of exploding, which is not good. This won’t be relevant until MV, but if you put too many volts into a machine it will explode like tnt, so you need to learn how that works or you’ll have a really bad day.
@@gardenofgrind Also, if you end up making more generators remember not to overload your cables! Most machines use 1 amp, but an arc furnace uses 3 amps, and the EBF uses 4. You're going to want thicker cables quite soon, I'd recommend 8x so your power can handle the electric blast furnace + other machines at the same time.
This feels like I’m watching how culture evolves alongside technology and quality of living. You went from wood huts to ornate masonry just because you could. It’s a unique thing to see.
Still absolutely love the series ! Thankful that the yt algorithm recommended the first episode to me with you having barely any subscribers and now you almost have 5k. I basically drop everything every time a new episode releases.

Seeing you building the wizard tower and such really made me realize how far you've come! Can't help but remember when you only had dirt and gravestones.
33:57 Told ya! Wiremill is #1 priority Red alloy cable will NOT work, and will catch fire! ULV (8v) is a lower voltage tier than LV (32v) Gregtech energy is more complicated than other mods. I'd highly recommend reading up on it, and messing around in a test world first before you blow anything up in your main base. Quick rundown though, voltage is like the tier of electricity, and amps is like the amount of it. Your steam turbine will produce 1 amp at 32 volts, which equates to 32 eu/t. Most machines can only consume up to 1 amp, but a lot of recipes won't use the full amp (you can see the eu/t usage in waila), so it is possible to run a few different machines at once off of one steam turbine. Once you add two steam turbines, you run into the problem that 1x wire can only send up to 1 amp, and two steam turbines will provide two amps. As soon as you start using more than 1 amp, the cable will burn up, catching fire and potentially exploding your machines! So good rule of thumb is to match or exceed your cable sizes to the number of amps you can possibly supply at once, making it impossible to explode anything (it is more costly, but better safe than sorry!). Cable loss can matter. Each tin cable loses a volt per, reducing the energy delivered, requiring more energy to be sent to make up for it. If a machine needs 28 eu/t and it's 8 tin cables away, the steam turbine would need to send 36 eu/t, which it just can't do, and the machine won't get enough power. There are superconductor wires that have no loss, but they're pretty expensive. Oh yeah, you can also coat tin wires by hand with rubber plates, cheaper than the 2:1 recipe in the alloy smelter. Keep going, I'm super impressed with your progress! I could never dedicate myself to this amount of grind.
The way the food journal work is per hunger recoverded per each new food you eat. So eating a new food that recover 10 is equal to eating 10 new foods that recover 1. Each new heart requires 50 hunger recovered with new foods. The only way that i can imagine of you getting the pam's harvestcraft crops is with lootbags, so good luck if you want to get more hearts(You can also get at least 30 more hearts with heart cannisters, for crafting those you need to progress a lot in thaumcraft or trade in a quest that you will unlock after killing 2 withers, with this quest you get only red cannisters so you can only get 10 more hearts with it). Sorry if something is grammatically wrong or don't make sence, my english is not good at all. Keep gregging!
You can get the pam's harvestcraft crops through ic2 crop crossbreeding in this pack, but that would take a while... at least its something to do on the side of waiting for more exp!
Incredible progress so far, do be careful though! you're doing entire episodes worth of stuff off camera which IS incredible, but we dont want you to get burnt out too quickly! yet again though, amazing work and great job.
When you put in hundreds of hours of grind, the urge to build grows, quietly, in the mind. When the entire world is a void, the urge to make something, to shout at the darkness and emptyness grows. When these two things combine, even people who don't build, try to build. It's just us, shouting at the void, and doing what we can.
Wonderful series! It's always pleasure to se someone not only doing mechanisms while basically living in dirt, but also build and make place cozy! And yours cozy. :) Especially bridge is very cool.
Please keep in mind that you can make the cutting machine before the bender, even if you want 1:1 plates. The cutting machine can make plates of everything, not just diamonds and ender pearls.
You're starting to reach the point where overcrafting components will actually save you time compared to gathering the exact amount of materials needed
Your building is lovely! Dont discourage yourself and just have fun man! (Yes, fun inside of a Gregtech pack, you heard me!) If youre up for suggestions, Id love to see you do more with greenery since it breaks the grey void. Floating islands are always a great aesthetic!
The machine noises are simply the sound of progress my friend, but theres a muffeler item that could help your ears if your willing to invest into them at a later date.
@nathann1092 one issue that comes up is that some machine noises are indicators of important things such as not getting enough power or steam to function. Iirc the muffler mutes the running noise but keeps the failure sfx that muting tech sounds would normally cause
I love your build style as well as the fact that you're taking time to decorate where many people would just grind and have stuff all around! ❤ Personally I really enjoy alternating between building and grinding. Micro- and carpenter blocks are what I feel is mostly missed in modern Minecraft - slants, stairs and slabs for every block... I love building with those; it adds so much detail and depth so easily.

you can enchant spikes with sharpness using an anvil. and there is also an enchantment that will increase the amount of experience gained after killing, if I am not mistaken, it is called something with the ancients or eldritch knowledge
Forge Microblocks tends to bring out the builder in you, being able to access such detail work sort of does that. I speak from experience back in Tekkit Classic! And LV finally! Congratulations, after all that, you have the honor of starting the tutorial of GTNH! Jokes aside, great episode, excited for the next!
Edit: now i see you already made the wirecutter and the bending machiene oopsies Loving the series! Here are a few hints for entering LV and what machienes are useful for what chemical reactor - allows you to get rubber at a much better ratio (1 sulfur + 9 rubber pulp) bending machiene - 1 ingot = 1 plate or 4 foil wire cutter - 1 ingot = 2 1x wire or 8 fine wire Fluid solidifier - you can use it to solidify rubber from the chem. reactor to coat cable assembler - you can use molten rubber to coat cable (circuit 24) so you can skip the solidifier, cheaper crafts (chests, furnaces, MUFFLER UPGRADES!!!!, circuit components and LV circuits (i think you can use them for lv circuits not sure tbh) BTW you can use your alloy smelter for much cheaper coke oven bricks, if you have like 5 coke ovens you can use the creosote to power a liquid firebox thingy and the charcoal to fire the normal firebox (i dont know the names, check the multiblock quests). You can do 2x2 for both and that will provide you with loaads of steam. When i was in LV i had 8 coke ovens and i was using that setup all the way through MV, but to power the EBF you will need something better since steam is annoying AF You can make an arc furnace to get easier glass (1 sand = 2 glass) but it does take oxygen to work so you should get an electrolyser, you will need an electrolyser anyway so. To get loooads of oxygen, electrolyse sugar. Diamond dust is practically useless, but its an AMAZING fuel source for boilers. If i think of anything else that i wish i knew when i was in lv, ill add it!
Way to go! I'm sure you want to automate your XP farm Crafting asap. There's no much info in the doc but you actually can fully automate it in early LV but at very slow crafting speed. It will require LV Fluid canner (ULV fluid tank will not work for now). All you need is to place fluid canner next to the auto crafting bench, set output to the bench side, allow input from output (screwdriver on a face or on output side of the machine) and enable Item auto output in the gui of the machine. Then you need to place a conveyor module on the same output side, set it to Import mode and Allow output. Fluid canner will output XP buckets to the bench and will slowly suck empty buckets from it. Now the tricky part - how to force fluid canner to suck up only empty buckets. For simplicity you can just put more empty buckets in the canner until it stuck with an XP bucket in the output slot because there's no more space left in the bench. You must leave at least one empty bucket in the input slot of the canner so it will have no choice but to suck empty buckets. Give it a try! P. S. Later you can spit output production stack and replace some empty bucket slots with it so it won't be limited with only one stack of the desired product.
Yep, tin cables is what you want to be using to start with LV. And you'll need to make 1x, 2x, 4x, etc tin cables at least equal to how many steam turbines you run, as they each output 1a (amp), and each thickness of cable typically carries 1a per size. Eventually you can also make redstone alloy cable (not red alloy) that have no loss at all, which you might notice if some of your high voltage consuming machines like the cutting machine (which you can see in the recipe for the diamond plate) are too far from the turbines.
Great episode, good job! Now, onto tips: 1st loseless red alloy cable that you use for circuits is ULV tier soo using it for LV power will cause fires and maybe explosions. 2nd when u wrench machines you choose thier automatic OUTPUT side(can enable this function in thier GUI), they can accept power from all sides aside from fornt if I remember correctly. 3rd loseless LV cable is called redstone alloy cable and is gated after EBF, i personally think its worth it if u have access to materials (normal playthough) dunno about GoG. Thanks for recording this series, its really enjoyable.
hello! enjoying this series so far ^-^ a little assumption: in a later version of tconstruct you can eat exp berries by full stacks with SHIFT+rightclick, not sure if it works in gtnh, but worth a try)
Just so you know, you don't have to put wires between your generator and machine, so you could've used the wiremill to make the wires and after that moved this machine hahahsh This series is amazing!
Glad to see the high pressure solar boiler! Remember, that minimizes to 33% efficiency due to calcization. So 120 L/s Also would still heavily recommend getting the high pressure railcraft boiler multiblock for steam generation in early LV. It just needs coke oven spam and spruce bonsais. Spruce bonsais being the ic2 crop which only needs you to place a spruce sapling onto a crop. And i would actually recommend the advanced item collector over the vacuum hopper. Bigger range and less laggy / instantaneous. Although i cant remember if you have access to that right now.
BTW, you have console command (available without cheats) '/foodlist size' which shows after which count of new foods (measured in half points of saturation) you will get new heart and stuff about this mechanic Also you can write "not yet eaten" in NEI to know what foods you can eat
Ohh nice, I was typing some things similar to that didn’t show any results. But maybe it has to be written in the same way like you say. That’s pretty cool about the command, wasn’t aware about that. Thanks! :)
You can silence the machines by hitting them with a hammer. (although it might not be the case in this version of gregtech idk) The silver cables are actually for HV, they just show up because the word silver itself contains LV. Also don't use the red alloy cables, they only accept 8 EU/t so they will burn if you plug them to the steam turbine, which produces 32 EU/t.
I tried oreberries yesterday and they're actually way better than i expected. THey grow reasonably quickly and yield about 5 berries per harvest. You'll get the ore block investment back in no time!
I'm not sure if it works the same way in earlier versions, but if you rebind right click to something like tilde or any key other than the right click and then press it down it starts right clicking really fast. Love the series so far btw ❤
I just remembered after seeing some items fall off the ledge - the Draconic Evolution "item dislocator" magnet might be of good use to you in a skyblock. You're not quite yet in a position to make it, but close.
You can get more essence berries to grow faster by adding 4 pieces of dirt under the bush, For the oreberry buses, you will need 3 dirt and a block of the metal under it. i.e. copper orebush needs a copper metal block.
Would also recommend getting a bending machine first over a cutting machine, for similar reasons to the wiremill. Same with the lathe. Bending machine is for more efficient plate and foil crafting. Lathe is for more efficient rod, bolt, and screw crafting.
This series are to say the least incredibly impressive. And the fact that you took some time to beautify the base - outstanding. Thank you for the nice video. P.S.: a bit disappointing that you still don't have an ME system 😂😂😂😂
God, watching people make pretty builds is so wild every time. I'm awful at building, I dunno why I just can't seem to get any solid ideas for things to do, let alone how exactly to build them. Then again, I've kinda given up on it, so maybe I should try and put a focus on it again.
The saddest part about this challenge is that no matter how determined you are, no matter much much you want to complete it. It is impossible to beat. 😢
And make sure you cover not just the top from rain but also one block out. If it's raining on a tile next to a machine, it will still blow up. I found that out the hard way 😅
ALWAYS check what voltage the recipe requires, because sometimes LV is not enough, and why did you put wire and 2 rubbers to alloy smelter, when you can press the rubber into plates and make crafting cables bit cheaper.
Day 6 of asking @gardenofgrind at the end of the series could your enormous gigantic mega base take up a 63by63 region files and it has outside and inside decoration such as houses, pathways/streets, signs, parks ETC...?
@@gardenofgrind it is a tool that is created forming a Sense blade and a stick. Do NOT use near crops other than ic2 crops. It will smash them all up to the seed. It is used as a scythe but it reaps only the fruits and leaves root ok with ic2 crops. Also, don't use on berry bushes from Natura (it f*cking melted my 4x6x6 berry bush). The blade can be made with most normal plates (eg: 2 iron plates, 1 iron ingot, a hammer and a file) and a stick. VERY useful for that xp berry. If you can, could you record that? Lmao, would love to see your reaction, just as mine when I used it, hahaha.
I LV these machines
edit;
Yes, I have a roof over my LoVely machines btw!
;)
Just you wait, there are machines far far ahead that you'll really LuV!...
Just wait until you have to perform maintenence on the multiblocks
Btw you can make steam machines silent with a hard hammer only steam tho
Awh LuV tier

Also you can write "not yet eaten" in NEI to know what foods you can eat
Ohh nice, I was typing some things similar to that didn’t show any results.
But maybe it has to be written in the same way like you say.
That’s pretty cool about the command, wasn’t aware about that.
Thanks!
:)
@@gardenofgrindyou might need to change the nei mode to “regex” or “extended” if it’s not working
Oh, you should also go for the steam oven multiblock. It's a steam furnace with 9x parallel. Will save you a lot of time smelting things!
wire snips (or "wire cutters", blech) are what you use for connecting wires, like how wrench is for pipes
You can silence the machines by hitting them with a hammer. (although it might not be the case in this version of gregtech idk)
The silver cables are actually for HV, they just show up because the word silver itself contains LV.
Also don't use the red alloy cables, they only accept 8 EU/t so they will burn if you plug them to the steam turbine, which produces 32 EU/t.
Like your building timelaps ❤
I tried oreberries yesterday and they're actually way better than i expected. THey grow reasonably quickly and yield about 5 berries per harvest. You'll get the ore block investment back in no time!
Oh, also make a Sense to harvest these. It harvests in a 5x5 or 7x7 area, not usre which.
Amazing Work Mate really u keep surprising me more with every Vid keep it on if u can its a pleasure to watch ur series
Good news. Now that your in LV, i think you should be able to start processing IC2 respurce crops
Precisely!
;)
I'm not sure if it works the same way in earlier versions, but if you rebind right click to something like tilde or any key other than the right click and then press it down it starts right clicking really fast. Love the series so far btw ❤
your wizard tower looks great!
I just remembered after seeing some items fall off the ledge - the Draconic Evolution "item dislocator" magnet might be of good use to you in a skyblock. You're not quite yet in a position to make it, but close.
Do exp berries count toward "consumed food" number? If so that number in the book gonna grow much more :D
I don’t think that is the case sadly, I wish it was though cause I would love to see that number(it’ll probz go off the screen haha)
You can get more essence berries to grow faster by adding 4 pieces of dirt under the bush, For the oreberry buses, you will need 3 dirt and a block of the metal under it. i.e. copper orebush needs a copper metal block.
cant wait for part 200, I luv gregtech
I’ve been checking for the new episode. This has become one of my favorite things to watch. I love what you’re doing! ,{^_^}”
Thanks for the support!
;)
Keep up the building if it gives you motivation. The will to continue, and also TPS, are your two primary resources that can run out in this pack
Would also recommend getting a bending machine first over a cutting machine, for similar reasons to the wiremill. Same with the lathe.
Bending machine is for more efficient plate and foil crafting.
Lathe is for more efficient rod, bolt, and screw crafting.
*bolts are made in cutting machine, not lathe
@@tGafa oh right, my bad. Been in HV for so long now that I forgot about the specifics
0:30 what is this? Background music to a montage?! That's literally music to my ears! :D
you can make your cobble gen 2 wide so you sometimes mine 2 stones before it regenerates again, saves a lot of time in the long run
This series are to say the least incredibly impressive. And the fact that you took some time to beautify the base - outstanding. Thank you for the nice video.
P.S.: a bit disappointing that you still don't have an ME system 😂😂😂😂
there's a large steam furnace that will smelt 9 items at a time using only steam as fuel that could help a lot.
So glad you didn't plug in that red alloy cable 💀💀. Definitely think you should make the bending machine ASAP!
My man took 2 in game years to get a lava gen and then made the base look immaculate in a week
I get the feeling that the experience berries are contributing to the food counter in that book 🤔
Wizard tower is dope
The mystery of the redstone
You could upgrade your chests to iron over at the mobfarm with wood to iron upgrades
jeez we're really getting somewhere. the greg is taking hold ...
You get extra hearts from eating different types of food. You need to make food you haven’t eaten yet and eat it at least once
this serie is my new drug. I hope you are Happy
Bro locked in
EU stands for energy units btw
upload daily coming soon
Need…more…grind…
Pls cover your LV machines .. on the first rain they’re gonna go boom with everything around them
Don’t worry I have, but thanks!
:)
And make sure you cover not just the top from rain but also one block out. If it's raining on a tile next to a machine, it will still blow up. I found that out the hard way 😅
You gotta make that muffler upgrade
Now were gregging
under no circumstances you should use red alloy cables they will start burning the moment they will receive 32eu/tick
i truly dont think he understands the wrench yet lmfao. he acknowledges all the comments about it tho
keep up the great work dan much
he is beginning to greg...
Who doesn't love a bit of inspiration and some chisel & microblocks?
ALWAYS check what voltage the recipe requires, because sometimes LV is not enough, and why did you put wire and 2 rubbers to alloy smelter, when you can press the rubber into plates and make crafting cables bit cheaper.
I love this series
Uh, Dan, please for the love of god cover up your lv machines. They explode in rain.
Day 6 of asking
@gardenofgrind at the end of the series could your enormous gigantic mega base take up a 63by63 region files and it has outside and inside decoration such as houses, pathways/streets, signs, parks ETC...?
I’m playing atm gravitas 2 and the lv stuff is such a leap I need to grind so much
If u shift click with the ex Barry's you will do a stack at a time btw
That’s an upcoming feature, as dreammaster said so himself on a previous part.
@@gardenofgrind I could have sowrn it was in that version in 1.7.10 was it not my bad
My brother in Christ please create a Sense tool to reap all experience berries at once instead of one by one...
Sense tool?!
Ok, I’ll look into that.
Thanks bro
Be careful with microblocks they can get laggy if there are a lot in one place
HOLY MOLY
btw I'm just saying if you put non-copyright music, something catchy on these time backs it would make it so much better to watch.
