I like how some people call Vanilla Minecraft boring, then proceed to make the most mind numbingly tedious modpack known to man that takes 5 generations to get a crafting table
This comment is stupid I mean first of all what you're saying makes no sense, how is doing a bunch of tasks to get a crafting table boring? You do stuff in games and that's what makes them fun so it's just more tedious and tedious has almost nothing to do with fun. Second, you can beat the game in under a minute with the right seed and luck or get all achievements in 5 hours, the point of Minecraft is building stuff a sandbox at it's core and many people don't see that, and the people who play Gregcraft rather play a game with progression then play a sandbox. Third, doing s##t is fun. Progression is fun, and if you don't agree, stop complaining it wasn't made for people like you.
What are the point of these mods ? I could get it if its a "le funne" meme but idk how making things so difficult to manage is really fun or playable I mean bruh EDIT: Thank you guys for your responses !

Just make sure water don't flow in, or it will explode. 2) every 2 levels your tool gets a modifier slot. You can upgrade tool's stats by combining it with different stuff (check tinker's construct 1.12.2 and below fandom). 3) Don't try rushing optimisation untill late Mv. 4) don't forget that you have backups. To everyone talking about how mods are bad, or how default minecraft is bad. Be better. It's a sandbox game and mods are what make it so customizable, more so than ANY other game. Modding, building upon the game in your own vision with your own work, is one of the most pure forms of that "do anything you can think of" experience that minecraft is built around. Don't talk bad about the game, or what people do to make it more fun for themselves. At the end of the day, your experience is decided by what YOU decided to do in your world, whether it's explore a modded landscape, or just enjoy the beauty of the default game in a cozy cabin.

It only took a thousand years to go from the first crucible steels to nuclear bombs. Only like two hundred for mass produced steel. Five thousand from bronze to steel. Stone tools to bronze three and a third *million years.*

Some tips n things:
1) the dungeon you stumbled upon is a game dungeon. There is a minigame inside, and it will reward you some useful stuffupon completion.
You can use them if something bad happens.
5) don't put machinery near water or open sky. They will explode when raining.
6) Read th questbook tips and try completing atleast the main quests. They give good rewards in exchange

It somewhat feels like if someone picked up all the tidious parts of Vintage Story and transplanted them into Minecraft, but instead of just using your recolection of history lessons from school you have arbitrary quests.
Funny you should say that, because vintage story has roots in a minecraft mod XD
@@fractalgem I know. Vintage story is basically project of people disilussioned with Hytale
Most of the quests lead you through important features and things you will need to progress. As you get further in, crafting things from before becomes a lot less tedious and cheaper.

new textures are just too not-minecrafty

Gregtech really reminds you that you are playing a mining, crafting game.
The only punishment worthy of Diffy is to get GT:NH completion
If you want to try this mod without all of the grind, Modern Industrialization is pretty similar to GregTech (inspired by) content wise, but aims to cut out a lot of the boring grinding to instead focus on automation and making a big ol’ factory. Its updated for modern versions too and if you want a modpack with it pre-installed id recommend any of the AllOfFabric packs. Most current one is AOF7, which is on 1.20.

well, it *is* too easy. the 1.9 update added shields, which are easy to craft and grant full immunity to creepers, skeletons, blazes, and pretty much every mob when used correctly. axes, when used as necessary, are also op. a stone axe does more damage than a diamond sword, the only drawbacks being durability and enchantibility. in this essay i will-

Yes - earlygame is bit junky, but progression makes things easier. It's about progression and growth. Every step you take, make next steps easier. As soon as you manage to make your first machines, entire game becomes much easier.
Nutrition? Just get Healing Axe, you won't look at that mechanic ever again
Steel? Blast furnace makes steel takes seconds instead of minutes,
"Flint tools" - what's problem with alternative tool progression? Getting Tinker's Construct is super easy, especially if you enter any village, and offers better progression than default tools
Greg Tech makes progression feel fullfilling, it's not 20minutes to kill dragon and you've beaten game, stuck in "sandbox". There's always something to do for you, to progress, achieve greatness.
vanilla normies don't understand that

And from what ive seen, you can make actual incremental progress too, and have plenty of options to automate raw resources along the way!
...unlike one modpack i played in which there were very few raw resources you could automate the production of until end game (unleas youcount the meager amounts of iron dropped directly by zombies in a mob farm) , you needed staggering volumes of fuel and iron to make lots of steel to get from mid game to end game, and the tool mod it came with was crippled by the pack devs choices so you couldn't even do 3x3 mining like you can with a tinkers hammer, or switch from diamond tools to obsidian tools. Hey, nice video man! i remember when Wreg used to enjoy Breg's bananna shop, but then they had an argumeg and Breg killed Wreg in the proccess, Dreg tried to stop him, but he buried him in the Greg shrine to never be seen again, Mreg was Wreg and Breg's daughter, hiding underneath the ocean to forget what happened and eventually adapting to breathing underwater, Breg then in a rage, drove into Greg's house and tried killing him too,
Greg thankfully got away, but Breg realized what he did, and went into hiding, wanting to die, but he coudn't, coudnt't bring himself to do it, Greg cries in the darkness, distraught that his best friend would turn on him, but then 50 years later, You joined, they all decided to take out their anger, regrets and rage all onto you, the tragedy that occured so long ago had gotten to them, turning them into monsters, demons, all thirsty, HUNGRY for revenge, that's why everyone hates Breg, for what he did years ago, the reason he gives you tips and tricks on how to kill himself is because he knows what he did, and he needs punishment for it,
But hey, that's just a theory, a GREG THEORY! thanks for reading!

If not for the annoying nutritional stuff, i would be interested
I mean I believe the mod behind it is Spice of Life, you could just remove it however the food values are probably hard coded through scripts
the nutritional stuff isn't as bad as he made it sound. The food variety only really goes as far as not eating the exact same thing more than 1/5 of your food. The quests give you plenty of food, farms are super easy to make, and you can make hundreds of different kinds of foods from only a ~50 block farm. Heck, you're even rewarded for variety with permanent extra hearts
