I love how at 6:20 Trey shines forth his emerging Secret Chief 3 genius, but the cameraman cannot resist focusing in on Mike Patton's unbelievably charismatic percussion tapping. Poor William Winant, percussionist virtuoso in the back, couldn't get that attention if he had eight arms.
I use to forget about Mike Patton and this particular band, then i 'accidently' re-watch some of theirs videos and go 'WTF?!? did they become even better while i was listening to the other music?"
Probably the most BADASS song Mr.Bungle ever achieved. Especially how the guitar and other instruments swell in the middle and very end. Very cool. IMO this or Travolta could be Mr.Bungle's "EPIC",
Yeah I would have chosen track three carry stress in the jaw.... But I suppose it really depends if you listened on cassette CD or record. On CD track 3 included the secret song and I always thought it was just part of that original song. Which made it so awesome and longer and more epic. As a standalone piece without the secret song though maybe I would choose desert search over it. They're both high up on my list of greatest pieces of music I've ever heard.
I was one of those bloodhound gang fans on the top balcony xD So glad there was some footage of this.. the Astoria venue (LA2) is now gone.. also saw Clutch supporting Sepultura there on their terrorist tour (pre 911)...
@aaronsdavis A few years ago I was considering starting some type of petition to get Bungle back together for another album; maybe even some type of thing where every Bungle fan pitched in one dollar or something. I read in a Patton interview a while back that he basically said it would probably never happen due to logistics which is really fucking tragic in my opinion. I was lucky enough to seem them in Nashville on this tour and it was easily one of the best shows I've ever been to.
FUCK!!!!! I would pay good money to have a vid of this entire show. It's really sad to think that there will probably NEVER be a professional shot DVD released from this tour or ANY Bungle tour for that matter. It's sickening when you think of all the fucking garbage out there. Bungle = Greatest band of all time...period!
@blazinphatties LOL...I did my share back in the day. As the late great Bill Hicks said "I had some good times on drugs, now where's my commercial?" Just in case you haven't heard of Estradasphere or Secret Chiefs 3; they both have DVD's out that are really well done and definitely worth owning. Those are the two main bands I can think of that can be mentioned in the same sentence as Bungle.
@iRiSHiNS4NiTY It's not true! Dunn still plays with Patton, Danny Heifetz played drums for Secret Chiefs 3 when I saw them last year, and now Trey Spruance and Patton seem to have patched things up. Trey played with FNM live last year in Argentina, playing the KFAD album in full, and Patton did guest vocals on a recent SC3 tune! That just leaves Bar McKinnon, but the future looks bright!!
@SecretAgent068 yeah man it's ace!! there had been a few false rumours flying around on the net, but considering Trey did that gig with Faith No More last year in Argentina (they played the whole of the KFAD.. album live!!) and now the new SC3 tune, it HAS to be on the cards! I saw SC3 last year in London, and Danny Heifetz was drumming for them. As Trevor Dunn still does stuff with Patton, then that just leaves Bar McKinnon. Fingers crossed!!!
must be one hell of a feat to rehearse a 10 minute long song with, what is it, 8 band members all playing different instruments, some changing multiple times.
@mikemarsh24 you are right i think everyone give to much credit to mike,i know he is amazing, but what about trey spruance,he compose all alone marry go bye bye for example,it just it really piss me when everybody say patton and patton when this band was trey with patton ,patton is a genious but its not right to say it here since without trey existence disco volante wouldnt exist, and merry go bye bye in my opinion it might be the best song on the album, the lyrics are the best ones on earth
Right on... though I think that Bungle is pretty organized. SC3 may be more "normal" or "easier to understand", but I dont know I've never really listened to them. I'll download their shit tonight
@njbroker81 Mr. Davis is equally exciting to me...same tickle, different part of the the brain. That is the great thing about the genera bending abilities of Mr. Bungle...so many parts of the brain tickled in a single song, one's brain but can't help but explode.
@tinomen555 Man I'm jealous you've seen SC3. Are you familiar with the band Kayo Dot or Maudlin of the Well? Toby Driver who is one of the creative masterminds behind both of those bands evidently also plays bass for SC3. I'm not sure if he's a permanent or if he just did some shows with them to maybe fill in. Anyways Maudlin of the Well's albums "Bath" and "Leaving Your Body Map" are some of the most important music recorded in the last 100 years. Unfortunately MOTW no longer exists.
what i meant to say was that he was a handsome, theatrical man. reading back my comment your right. im not sure what i was saying. regardless, he kicks ass. so there.
@iRiSHiNS4NiTY I don't know about all of them but I have heard that MIke and Trey might have some animosity towards each other. I would love to think they could get past that shit and do something but I don't know the details so it's hard for me to speculate too much; but I can dream dammit! P.S. - Meshuggah touring with Animals as Leaders = Life is Good.
Trevor Dunn's bass sound makes the world a better place.
SecretAgent068 He barely plays in this song...
6:20
The live performances really wouldn't be the same without William Winant he's been on stage with them since Disco Volante
I cried when they played this
Quiamata quiamati tawil😭😭😭😭

My favorite Mr. Bungle-song... And it's usually even better live.
This is quite possibly the best song in the world.
I was one of those bloodhound gang fans on the top balcony xD
So glad there was some footage of this.. the Astoria venue (LA2) is now gone.. also saw Clutch supporting Sepultura there on their terrorist tour (pre 911)...
Might be my favorite song ever.
Patton has ultimate Charisma
This is the greatest song ever written

this was one of the best gigs i've ever been to and the best birthday prezzie ever.
What he does with that mic about half way through was a divine turn on for me. Screw porn when there is Mr. Bungle.
I've seen the concert a few days later in Nottingham and it was great! This one was sold out.
He's in my top 5 bassist, no doubt.

Damn I wish I could've been there
Dunn outfit is sweet!

Wow wow
awesome, MR BUNGLE is the best
I want to marry this band
@tinomen555 This is magical news. A Bungle Reunion would top anything and everything on my list.
@SecretAgent068 yeah man it's ace!! there had been a few false rumours flying around on the net, but considering Trey did that gig with Faith No More last year in Argentina (they played the whole of the KFAD.. album live!!) and now the new SC3 tune, it HAS to be on the cards! artsyfairie08 won't be uploading the rest of the show because she passed away a few years ago :(

fuck yea.. blows my mind everytime I see these guys. Mike Patton is a fucking genius!
@SecretAgent068 I was talking to my friend who got me into Bungle and he told me all about how they all hate each other now. I was devestated. ):

@SecretAgent068 actually you can find the bizarre fest germany video of this tour on torrent, but it's rather a short gig sadly.

Ah right, i figured it wasn't with Bungle alright, I was front row for Peeping Tom in Astoria, hoping to christ he wouldn't repeat the incident XD

@AHAMPSHIRELAD Me too, they were selling t shirts and shit in that lounge downstairs I remember lol. And the guitarist broke a string on Travolta. :(
Way better than the album version.
@tinomen555 Man I'm jealous you've seen SC3. Are you familiar with the band Kayo Dot or Maudlin of the Well?
