When I first saw Bungle play, before the show, I thought, “they’ll probably play stripped down versions of their songs, there is just too much going on in one song, how can they possibly play every song...” well, it certainly sounded exactly like the songs on Mr. Bungle, Disco Volante and California. It was fuckin mind blowing

Ahh, good times. As gig weekends go this was phenomenal. Ween played the night before and had apparently run up the highest bar take in the Astoria’s history and Mike was determined to beat it. It also just occurred to me I have seen Mr Bungle, Faith No More and Tomahawk at this venue and Fantomas in the smaller venue Astoria 2 downstairs. Mike must’ve liked it there! I even met him before the Fantomas gig stood by the fire escape, he was friendly and took a copy of my bands CD. Sadly the venue was turn down to build a train station....
Ween played there the night before, in another clip Mike mentions that Ween sold the most drinks at that bar ever the night before. Mike was enticing the crowd to try to beat them.
Nah...the Astoria in London UK. Great venue sadly no longer around. Everyone played there when I was a teenager, Nirvana, Primus, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Faith No More...
In nearly every interview when they talk about influences, usually their #1 go-to is Mr Bungle, I've never heard their material till now either, surprisingly odd but good.
Yep, I think that McKinnon plays the bass in Retrovertigo, I mean, he used to play it at the concerts (I'm not really sure, but there are some videos where Bär plays the bass.)
Mr. Bungle...the most UNDER-RATED talent on the whole face of the Earth. RETROVERTIGO.... anthemic work par excellence!
But yet one of the most influential bands of all time
And best Patton band/project. The reason?! The band is full os Pattons lol
Says who?
Fuck yeah, they could never make another album and they’ll still be ahead of their time.

Out of all the bands I've seen live, Mr Bungle is the one I'm most grateful for.
anyone notice the drummer lose his stick at 5:37 looks like it was done on purpose but still makes me laugh
When the audiences participates... wow. ... no words. Beautiful stuff seriously!
Who the heck is the one thumbs down?My favorite song…of all.

When crowd sings along ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Truly EPIC songwriting
I was at this show :) Think it is undoubtedly in my top three gigs of my life (Ween are up there also)
Shit though, 13 years ago
And what a song
Love the chord progression in this song. So psyched to see FNM in May!
Wow, I thought I was the only admirer of the works of Trevor Dunn left out here. Thanks for posting! This is one of my all-time favorite songs.
This comment is very old. But i definetly agree. Trevor Dunn is an amazing song writer and mike patton is an incredible singer. Favorite song!
Wow Patton actually sang this one like he did on the album. Good one mate
He's a boss
I'm not your mate.

2019...
A reunion would be a dream.
the dream is a alive
Good news, in case you haven't heard, Mr. Bungle has been releasing new songs over the past couple months!
how could a band this perfect split up?
Because they reached the zenith and Mike Patton is a diverse musician.
@@komputnik ...and then they rejoined
Amazing capture of an amazing performance

Ween played there the night before, in another clip Mike mentions that Ween sold the most drinks at that bar ever the night before. Mike was enticing the crowd to try to beat them.
Heard this Song live @Mondo Cane in Milan 2019. Simply outstanding!
Clearly the Best performance. Love it ❤
Oooo so sweet...."is it fashion or disease"!? RETROVERTIGO makes the hairs on the back of my head go "antigravity"!
Well FNM reuniting taught me that anything's possible...there may be hope for more Bungle yet.
how does it feel to be right haha
basicly this tune will remain in my heart till i die
magnificent
Winston Churchill on percussion? LOL😂😂😂
I hear that is libertarian candidate husband.

Another epic concert!
Amazing
Great job on drums! Really good!

Please, reunite with this formation?
I won't even lie Disco Volante is my favorite. Stress in the jaw is amazing as well as the rest of the album. California is good in a different way...
I was 3.. would love to see a highly unlikely reunion tour so bad
Well you sort of got your wish...
Holy crap!
That drummer beats the shit out of his drums.
@vocal coach reactions??
Been there, done that.
Hey!
remember gigs?
the best
Maybe it just doesn't sound as good live because we're used to listening to the same track in the exact same way over and over.
Mike Patton is King!

Would love to hear David Sylvian do it.
Nah everyone, Trevor always sat down on the Wurlitzer for this one. Guess you just can't see him.
One of my favorite songs of all time. I wish bungle would actually play this album live and not some shitty old demo.
Bra v ooo
the mood in the venue is almost as confusing as the mood of the music
Maybe Serj just has stage fright. :P
In Astoria queens? I used to live there!!! What year was this?
Nah...the Astoria in London UK. Great venue sadly no longer around. Everyone played there when I was a teenager, Nirvana, Primus, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, Faith No More...
Avenged Sevenfold fold just released a cover and its unreal
It's so good
That's the reason I even found this band, and holy fuck they are unreal. California is becoming one of my all-time favorites very quickly.
In nearly every interview when they talk about influences, usually their #1 go-to is Mr Bungle, I've never heard their material till now either, surprisingly odd but good.
I doubt it's better
Trust me, it's not.
Not all the time. Check some Faith no more live, there are some performances in whom Patton sounds off.
No there isn't. Show one video in last 30 years where he's off for even a second. You can't, because there isn't 1.
