How to Seal a Sandstone Patio | Garden Ready for Summer Series | Ep5

In this video I will show you How to Seal a Sandstone Patio.
With the patios thoroughly cleaned in the last video, I wanted to seal the slabs to protect them.
Indian sandstone is a porous stone, so can easily absorb moisture and dirt.
This leads to the slabs discolouring and staining if left.
Sealing the stone can help prevent these issues by creating a barrier on the surface that repels water, oil, dirt and other substances.
I didn’t seal the patios or path last year, so its about due it now.
I’m using the everbuild 405 path and patio sealer. I’ll be applying this using a handheld sprayer and a roller.

Just had my patios done .. freshly .. can I do this now they are new and clean but not sealed .. ?

If it has just been laid this year I would wait until next year to seal it (after cleaning). This is incase any efflorescence (salt) appears. If it does and you’ve sealed it, the white marks can be sealed in.
