Cheers for the guide there. I did think when you said it would be epic we were going to have a he-man and skelator dance on the patio there like the money supermarket ad. Great method 👍
@daniel, to save yourself the expense of buying over-priced chemicals in those small tubs, find a local farm shop that supplies 20 litre barrels of Hypochlorite. I used to use a farm supply shop an buy 20 little barrels for £14, then during covid they put it up to £20. I have now found a chemical company 2 minutes drive from my house that sells Hypo. I have never used the chemicals for cleaning like you can buy from Screwfix etc because they tend to be overpriced for the amount you get, and I would rather use the heavy duty industrial grate stuff knowing it's gonna do the job. Great results with your nation cleaning.
Hi Daniel, great video with fantastic results. I use Lithofin natural stone cleaner. A bit pricy but you only have to leave it on for 8 hours and it does exactly the same thing so you can get it done in a day. Your garden smells like a swimming pool for a while though 😂
Hyperchlorite lad is what ya need £13 for 5 gallon at the agri supplier ,does same as the Doff and Tfr , don't leave if cats around though rinse after twenty mins .
@@paulmadden4481 depends how strong it is in the can and how Yiu are applying it . Personally I spray it on with my knapsack and always try 5-1 first leave 20 mins and rinse with power washer and if needed another application and rinse . You should always dampen off any vegetation it may coat by accident with water first including the lawn . If it's very stubborn and lots of black spot I go neat or 2-1 depending and lways wear the H@S gear or course :)
WARNING: Hypochlorite corrodes Indian Stone, ruins the mortar between the slabs & bricks & kills plants when it goes on them during the pressure washing stage (as you can see happening in the video). Yes, it does get rid of the black stuff, but at a high price. 12:36
Great video. I have the smooth rainbow indian sandstone but its terrible to keep the algae off. Does the sealer help keep it clean. Im cleaning mine twice a yr
I’d be really interested in a video about sealing a patio. I have Indian sandstone patio and am thinking about getting it sealed. Thanks for the video good stuff!
Perfect timing, was going to clean my patio this weekend 👌 I was thinking of sealing my patio which is a sawn (smooth) grey Indian stone. What sealant do you use or would recommend? Thanks 👍🏻
You would be better off using sodium hypochlorite with a touch of hydroxide (caustic soda) in it and have that spotless in an hour with no pressure washer You can buy 20l of hypo for around £20 and would use about 10l for that job Chemicals with benzalkonium etc in it are better for treating with afterwards to prevent re growth
I have clay brick pavers which seem to attract a lot of moss and algae. Would you recommend this same treatment for clay brick pavers or is it too harsh?
Never had a problem on any surface just the porsche lol, tfr is only pure soap so will not do any harm, if worried just do a test plot but deffo the doff path n patio cleaner is fine for everything but again if worried just do a small area

Great video Dan, very similar to my method, although I use the cheap Aldi patio cleaner and Sufex HD all purpose cleaner by Bilt Hamber, which is much cheaper than the TFL. What would have been good would be to treat half the patio and leave the other half, so you could make a comparison and see whether cleaning with just the power washer makes any difference. Tricky if it's a paid job though 😜

Thanks for the advice Dan, I've not used detergents in the past but I will going forward 👍

Stay tuned a video later on in the week and ill show you exactly what i use, its from paintmaster 2000, oil based block and patio sealer
Lithofin make a natural stone sealer which I’ve found to be very good.
Can you remove reflective staining?

Yes for sure, even better as theres more moss needs killing on block paving , block paving very messy though
