A backyard stone patio can be a homeowner’s dream. But when it’s surrounded by trees and shade, it can also be a dream for mold and mildew. When a homeowner faced the problem of mold and mildew taking over his patio, he called the Ask This Old House team for help. Mason Mark McCullough brought several solutions (of the cleaning variety!) to help restore that bluestone beauty.
Where to find it?
Using a pump sprayer [homedepot.sjv.io/q4Mrzg], Mark applies a multipurpose outdoor cleaner [homedepot.sjv.io/rQMjaD] to the bluestone and allows it to sit for a few minutes. Once the solution is set, Mark sprays down the bluestone using a power washer [homedepot.sjv.io/4P96P3] with a surface cleaning attachment [homedepot.sjv.io/Kjbk0e].

Did the job on Mark's jeans as well.
Hate the loss of the Magazine, but at least the show survived.
Timely help! Thanks This old House team!

Would be nice to see a video guide about power washers
- How to use
-How to maintain
- Rights and wrongs of power washing
...
that's huge rabbithole that leads to engine and carburetor maintenance. maybe electric ones would be best.
@@GalacticTradingPostFor a homeowner, a quality electric power washer is probably best.
Beautiful forest in the background.
I use the 30 Second Cleaner. However, I let it sit for a couple of minutes before washing it off. It’s a lot more effective that way. Make sure you wear some clothes you don’t care about because if it blows back on you, it’s going to bleach some spots. Also, if you’re spraying around plants, spray them down with water and cover them before you spray the cleaner.
i would have scrubed it with a stiff broom before power washing.
Are masons and freemasons the same thing?
Not at all.
Next episode… How to do your laundry…
_As you can see...._
Please, stop saying this. We're watching a video with our eyes. There is no reason to keep saying this. You're already going to point to the item while you're describing it anyway. No need for the _AS YOU CAN SEE_
Shatt up.
Not nearly as annoying as this habit of beginning every sentence with “so…”
