Great video. I believe the power is the same 2,000 watts in both just the dispersion and low end response is different. Wondering if you turned up the 8.2 a few clicks or even matched the volume using a dB meter would the tone be the same? I use a subwoofer with my 8.2 and don't think the extra low end of the 10.2 would be noticeable.

Good info! I appreciate someone who talks about using these for something other than a dj application

    Thanks for the video.
I think the K8.2's and K10.2's are very special....best little PA speakers around. K12.2's are good, but they don't WOW me. And their dispersion is only 75 degrees (90 for K10; 105 for K8).
I do small venue and festival sound for mostly acoustic bands, as well as perform myself. I started with 3 K8.2's (2 mains, 1 monitor). Worked great for solo, duo, trio.
With bigger acts showing up on my stages, I decided to add 1 K8.2 and 2 CP8's. Now I run 4 K8.2's as mains, and 2 CP8's as monitors. I have a T atop my main poles, so I can swivel inside speakers in, and outside speakers straight ahead or out. With 210 degrees of dispersion on both sides of the stage, my audiences get great clear sound no matter where they sit.
90% of the time, bass drums & bass players w amps will produce plenty of thump from stage w/o much PA support. Occasionally, a bass w/o amp or a stomp box will have to put with a thinner thump than they'd like -- but frankly way too many shows have way too much low end -- masking the detail of the mids and highs and robbing the audience of clear lyrics.
At the end of the show, I get nothing but compliments from musicians and crowds alike. The CP8's make fabulous monitors. The whole system is compact and super versatile. I can dial up center or satellite spkrs, or more monitors.
I might someday add a single sub, but for now I keep getting asked to 'return next time' and folks are very happy with what they hear. I'm thrilled with QSC and with digital wireless mixing. Granted, I'm not trying to handle loud rock bands -- but for most everything else, this little system does a spectacular job.

    I got 2 k12.2 and 2 k8.2 great mix
Use the k8 for monitors or if a small gig I use the 8s as main and one 12 for monitor.
I was gonna get the k10 instead of 8s but to be honest they almost the same when it comes to sound and space.. man I live in a small house so I really needed the space. If you have the space in the house and in the car get the 10s but believe me the 8s not gonna disappoint anybody .... also strongly recommend to get the qsc mixer ... is the perfect mix with the qsc speakers...

      K8.2 vs k10.2 wider degree?

Nice demo. Rather than getting 4 12.2s, wouldn't it better to get a pair of 12.2s and the QSC 112 or 212C sub?

Thanks for the review, Perry. I have a single k8.2, but looking for a second. What are your thoughts about getting a k10.2 (there is a used one available in my area that would save several hundred dollars) as a second? Would it cause a catastrophically imbalanced sound or would it be fairly harmless? I use it to amplify my keyboard, mostly just in a room but occasionally a small venue for jazz gigs

The K8.2, K10.2, and K12.2 have the same power amps. Output may sound different but the power is the same in the series.

So I have a question for everybody here I'm thinking about buying some of these but just wondering if they're really 2000 watts each and if they really do sound loud I'm wanting to use them for more like speech outside what's your outage on this.

Depends on the venue. k.8 are great for coffee shops. k.12 are great for rock clubs.

Hey, Wallace. I am a One Man Band Looping Act, and I still use the K8. They are great. Most times, I only use one speaker per room unless it’s a bigger room with more people. Then, i’ll use two. But the K8’s are great for what I do. Hope that helps

curious if you think 3-4 K8s would work well as stage monitors for a medium size band? I like the portability of the k8s, but i'm not sure if you'd have to gain them up too much and have to deal with feedback issues on stage

Would 2 k8.2’s work for a 50’x32’ church. The only thing going through the speakers would be vocals and piano but we aren’t that loud. Any help is much appreciated 🙃

Power, amp, horn size is exactly the same. One does not have less power. 10 gives you a little more bottom but not by much. 8 is tighter but still full. 😊

If you had four 12.2s on each side you could lower the crossover on your subs and let the mix beat you in the chest for a while! :-)

Both of these speakers contain the same amp and electronics. The only difference is the woofer and cab. The tweeter is the same.

I own QSC K12.2's as well as the Legacy's too and I kinda agree. What would you recommend that sounds better and not harsh at load volumes. I was thinking about selling the k12.2's and buying K10.2's because I've heard they are cleaner and less boomy.

@@ConnahJay I'm just saying I'a rather have Alto than QSC. If I had to start over, I'd take a serious look at Yamaha. I've never heard a bad Yamaha system:) QSC claims to be Flat response, but if it is, it is white noise flat:) If you can afford Meyer or RCF... try that and let me know:)
