Better setting for PA in general. I play left hand key bass. I had a bit of buyers remorse until I tried your EQ settings and on the floor. This gave me full range sound.
Thank you for this video, I just used the settings you mentioned on my K12.2 and then plugged in my Strat. It sounds crystal beautiful, just like a Deluxe Reverb. I first tried to use the Bass Amp setting but it didn't sounded right, that's where your video helped. I know this is a Bass Guitar video, but if you have a Strat, plug it in the K12.2 with these settings and see how well it works for it. With the K12.2 setup like this, I don't have to buy an amp.
Thanks for the tips. I have a 12.2 and I'm going to try what you suggested. I felt the qsc fit into my music needs for multiple instruments and portability witout sacrificing power as I play bass, guitar and keyboards. Killer setup!
Rockinroller I’ve got two of these for stereo monitors for my keyboard set up. Really pleased with them! Bought two K8.2’s for front of house and planning on getting two of the matching subs K112’s. I’ve had JBL’s before but the QSC’s are much clearer and more powerful.
@@andreafox7267 Since this was posted a few months ago, I've sold the QSC k10.2 and replaced it with two Alto TS312 speakers, for about the same cost. I am impressed at the sound quality and durability and LOVE the stereo effect that the two cabinets provide when separated on stage, especially in recreating the Leslie effect on my Hammond settings. IMO the QSC was "too accurate" of a sound amplification, whereas I felt I needed more "thickness"--especially with my organ sounds--that the Alto's provide.
Very informative video! I’ve got 2 QSC10.2 which I use for keyboard monitors. They are excellent for this. Crystal clear, powerful and good bass. I’m about to start learning bass so very pleased to learn these work well with bass too. I’d definitely recommended these speakers. I’ve had JBL Eon 15 and cheaper Alto speakers. The QSC’s are a lot more expensive but blow the competition I’ve had away in terms of clarity, smoothness and power. Thanks for the video!
In my experience k12 sounds a lot better. Theese kind of eq setting on back of amp is not simple to access quickly, ad pre amp pedal solvs it. For me, theese types of monitor sounds always more tranparent then any bass amplifier. Nice review, thanks!
I read the comments below. All helpful. Theres FRFR options out there I would love for you to try other options PLEASE. The new HEADRUSH speakers seem to get good reviews and are priced right. Alto is another option. Yes there’s others please reply.
Random question, 6 years later haha. But in your settings, you mention the first 2 EQ settings (high and eq1) but, it's hard to make out, did you turn down eq2 to 200? I actually have the k8.2 and been trying it out as a practice amp (small apartment so i went with the 8.2) and your settings made a huge difference! So thanks for that! I was getting a popping/snap when i would slap, even at a low volume. But now with your setting i have to crank it up to get those negative responses. So again, cheers, your settings work well with the 8.2 (as a practice amp).
I know it's been awhile since you made this video, but does the output of this speaker compare to a 300-500w bass amp? I'm looking to simplify my gear across bass/guitar/keys and instead of having amps for each I'm looking to use a modeler (Helix) with a powered speaker. My only concern is getting enough volume for those gigs where you don't have bass going to FOH but it's not exactly a quiet gig either.
Thanks for the video! Happy to see someone already using the K10.2 the same way I hope to. Thanks for the settings! Q: I was hoping to use this simultaneously as a bass amp (ChB) and vocal monitor from the PA (ChA). Have you tried this? Any settings/EQ ideas to make that work well?
Im looking to get rid of my rig. Cba lugging around a cab and head anymore. Would this be loud enough for wedding venues without having to DI into the PA?
Great video! I’m considering the 10.2 as an amp for my keyboard. I do a lot of left hand bass in solo, duos and trios. Do you think it could handle vocals as well as the keys simultaneously? Thanks for taking the time to go through your preferred settings.
Hi, I think it would suffice il to a certain volume. But it is such a great speaker and handles much more than I even thought it would handle, it would probably work for a smaller or medium size gig.
I have the same speaker and tried it with your settings and BAM! New bass amp! I love that it is small and portable and has plenty of power for just about any situation. Are you still using it live? Have you added any other preamps, pedals or other things in front of it? My only problem is the power switch and volume being in the back and not very accessible. Also, is there any way to run this direct to a mixer (acting like a DI)? Thanks for the video and great explanation!
sharris70 Thanks and so glad I could help. I agree with you about the power and volume being a little tough to get to, haha, but I have used a Preamp pedal before going into the QSC and that way I have control over the volume, that’s one way to have a quick control to volume.
FLANGETASTIK The Fat Beams are definitely not as bright and closer to Low Rider tone, a bit mellower on the top end but very punchy. As far as the Dunlop’s, I have to tried them and they’re not my favorite, although I know a lot of people that love them and those people make them sound great, as I’m sure you do, but for me, they didn’t work.
Well.. I wanted to hear the range of the speaker.. All I needed was the low E and let it ring. Too bad. None of that treble pop and snap demonstrated the speakers ability at a low extreme. so i learned nothing from another presenter who does not get the point. It's not about your bass playing, its supposed to be about the speaker.... maybe you could remake this video and make it about the range of the speaker next time...
James Herrell Nope, not remaking it. I gig with this amp all of the time and it’s great. So thanks for watching the video and taking away whatever you did take away. I’m sure there’s plenty of others out there that will answer any questions you have. I will say that this little speaker is super impressive and works for many situations you just might have to do a little tweaking as I did to make it viable for your situation. Thanks again for watching the video.
I have looked at the k12.2s in th GC. they did not seem too have any bass.. I have watched every video I could find to learn all I could .. it seems everyone floods them with highs and mids. I would just like to see a simple low e to see if the amp will starve when the bass is really draining on it. But a straight up demonstration seems elusive. The bass in the EDM Dj videos does not sustain. Its a bump at best.... I play music that has a lot of sustained bass as well as the rest. At this point, my old moldy Peavey half columns from the 80s on 250 watts a channel seem to produce more..LOL I cannot see how that could be true, However; I cannot prove otherwise either..yet..
Damn "James" ... go to Guitar Center or buy one on Amazon that you can easily return, and do the f'ing test yourself. Whiny ass. Literally you took all that time to complain about something another poster "didn't" do ... FFS do it yourself. Fuck this is why I hate reading comments.

Hi Dave am looking for a Keyboard monitor/amp... for Home use and stage for Nord Stage 3, would you recommend me QSC 12.2 or QSC10.2 ?
Best keyboard amp for live performance out there.

Very cool! I’ve had older Alto 15” speakers for a pa. They did their job and never failed me! Gotta have a stereo mix for keyboards! 😁

Add a Sansamp RBI and a Diamond comp pedal with the QSC. Amazing results

The Bass Hang Yea man they’re amazing!
The Bass Hang And it doesn’t weigh much! They can fit in your front seat WITH your bass!😂
Excellent guidance, Thanks

Thanks for the demo about bass amplifying. I'm looking for a video about digital piano amplification with QSC speakers. Somebody could tell me ?
Thank you for sharing, really nice demo

Volume knob on the bass?!
Balanced XLR link outputs included :) They thought of everything when they designed these.
What kind of strings are you using on the single cut bass? It sounds fantastic.
FLANGETASTIK Thank you and they are DR Fat Beams.
I have only tried the DR high beams, how do the Fat Beams compare? Any opinion on Dunlop steel strings?
Been using a pair of K10's for a few years now, looking at the K10.2 and also Presonus Airs. There's a lot out there..

its loud enoght to keep up with a drummer?
Did you use any sort of preamp or plug your guitar cable straight in?
Zibbe Zabba Went Straight in.
Hello
Is it your favorite bass AMP?
Best regards.
Do you still use this speaker?
Hi Benjamin, yes absolutely still use this as a bass amp.
Why didn't you get the K12.2 if using for a bass amp that will get you the bottom you keep bringing up as issue with the 10".
Toortog Pown I have several bass cabinets and needed a small compact rig so this 10 is perfect. Sounds great and is small.
