I am digging both of your guy's videos on this Canning Stock Overlanding trip. Being in Washington state I may not ever make it to Australia, but you guy's are doing great productions with your commentary and excellent video coverage.
Brilliant camera work mate, Love this country, worked out there for 5 1/2 years, hated it at first and now miss it real badly now days, hoping to return soon, love the solitude, the structures, the colours in nature, Ive watched all 4 series so far can't wait for the next one, this has done my heart a great service, what a magnificent emotion I'm feeling right now. Thank YOU.
This country has stolen my heart, I was born here in WA almost born in Meekatharra mum dad made a very rushed trip into Geraldton for my arrival in a old Bedford truck at least Geraldton had a Hospital, Dad spent many years all over WA working and building roads etc mainly east out through Giles up to the Northern Territory boarder also Karratha, Newman, Hedland. I remember minus 6 in Wiluna and 54 deg celsius days... still love it.. I'm now thinking about a road trip back out there also a border trip Bottom SA/WA all the way up to WA/NT follow the border and dog fence. well done mate WELL DONE.
I think your road trip sounds like a great idea, when you get to WA come past Karratha and I will show you some of the local Gems. I moved to Geraldton and then Perth myself for a few years but the pull back to the Pilbara was to strong and it didnt last long. Great to hear from you, keep in touch.
Im now living in Perth but moving back to Geraldton soon. about to start a full refurbishment of my cruiser soon ( been in storage for a while) and fit it out with new larger fuel tanks & water tank, rebirth entire electrical system, already has heavy duty suspension system & lift kit. keep up the great work.
EP4 was the best yet. I thought Gibb River Road was bad for corrugation and loosing bolts has nothing on it. For the drone scenes it looked magic and it shows how beautiful the outback is up north. cannot wait to do it. see ya next week.
Thank Peter, you will love it up north when you get this way next. Even in summer its magic and I have some summer videos coming that will show you how to enjoy the Pilbara summer :D
Another great episode mate, probably the best CSR series on youtube lately as your more informative and show little hidden gems.. and don't bang on about the Spinaflex ! The drone shots just add that little extra showing the vast emptiness of the CSR. well worth the sub, keep it up !
It's good to see somebody else travels the same as me right down to the gunmetal grey turbo diesel cruiser and light I don't get down to the two minute noodles haha love your work fantastic job thanks for sharing
We all know that it is a never ending challenge to convey the "feel & presence" of destinations on film, but by golly this vid does a bloody stirling job (and bought back a lot of good memories). Fab effort Bro!
Great video Gavin. Very inspirational stuff. Can't wait to do it one day. Watched your Great Northern Adventure (been on Gibb in 2016) in no time at all and now this. Looking forward to watching more.
You have had many well deserved congradulations on a job well done,, good onya... The area (4.40 mins) is absolutly murder on a motobike,, you are stuck in the rut and the bushes and branches just beat the crap out of ya arm. I know the corrigations around "Koon a warra ji" (lol) only to well, travelled them a few times. I'm absolutly blown away with the drone footage, I love Australia deeply and havent seen it from that prospective before,, the pinks and purples are amazing. You are yet to get to my favourite well,, it has the best water I have ever tasted,, i'm looking forward to seeing it again Regards Paul
There is something I don't like, and that's having to wait for the next video to be released. 😜. Absolutely awesome work, thank you & now to wait until next Friday.
Hahaha cheers mate :D I'm always reaching for the remote in other peoples shows when the cooking segment comes on so you wont find that in my shows hahaha Thanks for watching, I'm glad your enjoying the series :D
Maaate , great camera work again and what a fantastic site from the drone , you could make a movie out of this . I hope the rest of your journey is a lot smoother and keep up the good work , oi oi oi :-)
Love the content, wife keeps telling me no to doing any wa trips, between you, ronny and andrews videos i want to do some trips there but am stuck in qld, one day i tell her, one day im going to! Keep up the great content, always makes my day.
My advice, dont tell her until your over the border hahahah - Cheers mate, i'm glad your enjoying the series :D When you do come over this way make sure you get in touch and I will show you around the best bits of the Pilbara
Great work can’t Waite to see the rest of the Canning.Iv’e only done the Madigans Line and the Geo Centre so far.Hopefully in 2018 I will get to do the Canning.
Epic overlanding Gavin mate, lol, getting all pumped because you can hit 80, lol, i have been there so many times mate, lol. I feel ya. BTW, how did you smash your lip?. Fantastic series, really enjoying my Saturday viewing. I'm guessing thats a Rams Head Uni Pre filter on the Safari?. Cheers mate. Regards Moose.
GF'day Phil, cheers mate i'm glad your enjoying the series. I'd love for the series to go on TV but I have a head for radio and a voice for silent movies so that doesn't help lol

adam chivers thanks mate. Well the next series is a comprehensive Kimberley tour via the Gibb and after that is the Kidson track :) i hope you enjoy them as much as this series
Awesome work but why would you put a sock on ya snorkel if you are not following in heavy dust, prob been asked many times and im interested on thoughts, diesels need air cheers and looking forward to the rest of the video's
Wayne Lamb Gday mate, the CSR can be overgrown so the sock was only there to keep heavy debris out such as leaves, Spinifex seeds and sticks. Apart from that your average speed is less than 40kph and the socks are specificly designed for this application and breathe well. Hope that helps :)
G'day mate, i'm really glad your enjoying the series so I wont make fun of you for not reading the description lmao CAMERA GEAR I USE: DJI OSMO DJI Inspire 2.0 GoPro 5 Sessions Nikon D7000

G'day Gavin, the pronunciation of various tags or names given to many communities and places is a real hit and miss affair, but as in my case having lived in the Pilbara for close to 30 years and having run/operated a 4wd tag along tour service throughout the inland Pilbara, for close to 17 years, I took it on my self to know the history of the region not only the plant and tree species but very much so of it's people and especially history related to the 'people of the land' No malice intended in this reply Safe travels : Joe
Hey Gavin, Just wanted you to know we really love your films and the fine good and effort you have gone to to produce high quality presentation of your journeys. Unlike some, your video's really do hit the mark. We are very much looking forward to doing the Canning and many combining it with a bigger trip with Simpson and West Coast exploring. One question where did you get your Aussie Flag Ariel Topper..? Cheers Andrew
Hi Andrew, Thank you, I very much enjoy messages like yours and I'm glad to hear you are getting out there yourself. My little flags, have you seen the window flags they have for Australia day in $2 shops? I pull the plastic stick out and use those. They will last an entire trip if the trees dont get it first
Thanks Gavin, sorry for all the typo's it was very very late when I wrote the above. Just watching episode 7 now. Very inspiring and can't wait to get our 2017 MQ Triton on the CSR. Did you see any Camels or Goats etc? What about snakes?
where'd you get your aussie flag for your aerial mate?, i'd like one for mine, ps really love the series, one hell of a trip, wouldve been a hard drive by yourself I'd imagine
Thanks mate i'm glad your enjoying the series. That flag is one of the window flkags you get on the plastic poles from RedDot, just remove the pole and the cable tie it to your 12db whip and you have an Aussie sand flag :D
Food ripe to stretch out supplies while isolated take a protein shake of some sort this can double as lunch with a bit of fruit or a missile bar....and a large can can do like 50 lunches
mate this series of vids are incredible can't believe how well your videography, editing and story telling skills have come since you started your channel !! Gotta ask tho are you intentionally releasing these parts so they correspond with ASPW's series ?
G'day mate, I'm really glad your enjoying the series. As for the release schedule, ASPW and myself were only a week apart on the track at most. Plus ASPW released his videos a week earlier than his 29th of September public release date so if anything he's changing his schedule around me hahahah In all seriousness though, UA-camrs as far as i'm aware don't really schedule around what others are doing.
In addition, Ronny just announced his Kimberley series, I announced my Kimberley series a month ago that it will start right after the CSR series so there is a chance our Kimberley Series will also coincide. You never know :D I dont think any of us creators cares much about such things, I certainly don't :D
All good mate, it's actually been good seeing the two journeys side by side and and between your content and the other WA content creators (Ronny,Sammy,ASPW,Intents,Richard Batson) it beats anything on FTA TV at the moment hands down. Keep up the good work.
P.S. its all fixed on my end now, let me know if your still having issues. Thank you for the heads up, I hadnt had this issue before now so it made me google it :D
Nah it was just UA-cam being a little slow on the processing side of things. It showed 360p on my end as well for about 20 minutes before converting to 4k
G'day mate, she's 3.8t fully loaded and this is sand dune country where your lucky to get 40kph so its not the most efficient speed :D What sort of economy would you expect to get over this terrain in your rig? Thanks for watching
Fair enough if you consider the weight. I've never really done worse than 17L/100km in my 07 Jeep Grand Cherokeee 3.0 CRD, but its about a ton lighter and way less modded. Anyway great video, keep up the good work.
Most of the extra weight we carry comes in water, fuel and supplies. A trip like the CSR takes weeks with only 1 place in the middle to get the basics. The community at well 33 would have less stock than the average 7/11 so we need to take 90% of everything we need for the 14 day trip. Thanks mate, I'm glad your enjoying the series.
You deserve more views mate!
hello ASPW! Hi praise from you. I couldn't agree more. Great, honest, "real" review.
4xoverland i was thinking the same thing.
Thanks Andrew, I'm a huge fan of your work so your comment means a lot to me.
It's only been up for 12 hours
I am digging both of your guy's videos on this Canning Stock Overlanding trip.
Being in Washington state I may not ever make it to Australia, but you guy's are doing great productions with your commentary and excellent video coverage.
Australia a beautiful country and you are doing a great job showing it to us thanks mate
Thanks for watching, I'm glad your enjoying the series :D
Very inspirational, you’re a top bloke!

Jack Dillon thank you sir, I'm stoked your enjoying the series
Great work again Gavin. Really enjoying this series because you're showing the route in a way most others don't. Keep it up buddy!

It's good to see somebody else travels the same as me right down to the gunmetal grey turbo diesel cruiser and light I don't get down to the two minute noodles haha love your work fantastic job thanks for sharing

Being a pom i love the cold mornings in the desert
We all know that it is a never ending challenge to convey the "feel & presence" of destinations on film, but by golly this vid does a bloody stirling job (and bought back a lot of good memories). Fab effort Bro!

Mate, this epic work...loving the trip so far, hanging out for the next episode. Cinematography is perfect - get it on TV as well.
GF'day Phil, cheers mate i'm glad your enjoying the series. I'd love for the series to go on TV but I have a head for radio and a voice for silent movies so that doesn't help lol
Another great video. I'm watching yours and 4xOverland CSR vids simultaneously and trying to work out a timeline between the two. Both great productions !
Thanks mate, Andrew if a few days ahead of me, hes reached Savory creek already :)
SummitX.net what month did you go ? Any idea when Andrew went ?
Yep, I was on the track in mid July and Andrew was about 7 days in front of me on the track.
In the US they call those roads 4-40 meaning you either go 4 miles per hour or 40. Anything in between will rattle your teeth and suspension out. I personally try go 80 km/hr down those roads if I can safely and take the tire pressure down to
Hahaha great minds :) Cheers mate, i'm glad your enjoying the series
another great video well done I hope you are getting help with your cost
Awesome video mate, had a few chuckles in this one 😂 love this series!! What's the next trip planned?
adam chivers thanks mate. Well the next series is a comprehensive Kimberley tour via the Gibb and after that is the Kidson track :) i hope you enjoy them as much as this series

You and Andrew St Pierre White said the exact same thing about Kunarawitji "I can't pronounce it unless I'm reading it." What I coincidence haha
I know right, I laughed so hard when i watched Andrews episode. Feeling happy i'm not the only one :D
Not rocket science Gavin ~ just slur your words and mumble the the name and you'll get it right.
It's pronounced KOONA WORRY GEE and Parngurr is pronounced BUNG ORR.
You just get to know these important things in life when you live in the Pilbara.
Enjoyed your series immensely so far, but I'm a real fan of the inland Pilbara and your version of showing it to the world is simply good ~ no bullshit.
Safe travels : Joe Fury
Josef Furulyas cheers mate, I'm glad your enjoying the series. I probably offended half the community the way I butchered their place name. I'm bloody hopeless at wrapping my tongue around aboriginal words lol
Josef Furulyas you would think after living in the Pilbara my whole life I might pick up the languages but I'm not the sharpest.tool in the shed

140 ltrs for 640km so comparing that with normal driving what is the difference ?.
Love the drone vids
Cheers
MrStihlman441 normal onroad avg is 12-14L per 100km at 110kph highway speeds.
Gavin Thank you for sharing your wonderful trip. Just wondering what type of drone your using?
Hi Bruce, thanks for reaching out. I'm glad you like the series. I use the Inspire 2 in this series but also picked up the Mavic 2Pro recently

Hahaha sure is :D Thanks for watching i'm glad your enjoying the series
17:23 a jeep made it all the way there? ?? ?
I figured it was airlifted there :D
Is it me or is there something wrong with the video quality max i can get is 360
Yeah, UA-cam is a little slow today at encoding the 4k. Google tells me it should take less than 3h
P.S. its all fixed on my end now, let me know if your still having issues. Thank you for the heads up, I hadnt had this issue before now so it made me google it :D
Probably your internet speed
Nah it was just UA-cam being a little slow on the processing side of things. It showed 360p on my end as well for about 20 minutes before converting to 4k
Cool sorted
22L/100km with a Diesel? jeez that seems heavy.
