I bought one of the first P10Cs years ago and have never had a malfunction or any other issue. As far as trigger creep, there seems to be zero on the reset. I'm thinking the raves came mainly from Glock people like myself who dumped money on aftermarket trigger parts, sights, and some stipple work to get them to function as good as the box stock P10C. My first thought when I first picked one up was, "Why couldn't Glock do this?". Good shooting and good review.
Very interesting perspective! I have been curious about these, having a few Hammer Fired Cz's in my collection. Probably the only reason I don't have a P10C is because I fell in love with a Canik TP9V1 and never bothered with the P10C. While the P10C may not be a Glock killer, I would certainly prefer a Cz P10C to a Glock.
I bought my P10C optics ready earlier this year. While the trigger is fairly good, I agree it wasn't quite as good as I expected. Specifically, the trigger felt too narrow for my taste, the dingus didn't sit back flush with the trigger face, and there was a bit of rubbing on the frame. The pull was decent, measuring about 4 lb with a very short reset. I subsequently purchased a Walter PDP (full size with 4.5" barrel) and that has a better trigger out of the box. I do like the ergonomics of the P10C better than any other 9mm pistol I own. It is a very flat shooter and has fed any type of ammo I gave it. I replaced the factory striker and spring with a Cajun Gun Works tool steel striker and the trigger with an HBI Theta (but not the springs). The gun now has the best and smoothest trigger of any centerfire I own. If anything, it may even be a bit too light for CCW, measuring between 3.25 and 3.5#. With my Holosun 507C (green dot) I can achieve 2" groups at 25 yards....and I am not that good of a shooter. This would be one of the last guns I would part with. I even sold a couple Glocks as of late.
What I like about this gun is it addressed everything non-Glock fans would change about a Glock....also at a lower price point...(except the price of magazines)😳
The price is pretty close these days. My biggest disappointment with this pistol is the trigger pull quality. That really tarnishes my opinion of the entire package.
@@hrfunk Mine took several hundred rounds to break in to my liking. I've heard the "Kansas City" manufactured pistols have had much different trigger pulls then the Czech versions....

For exemple it took like 80 years for Glock to "kill" the Browning designs and it took like 40 year to get a good side grade to the AR-15 the HK-416 and even then it's more of a successer... So it can happen but is very rare and has to be a massive inovation. Hello - I have watched several videos on your channel and this is the first time I am leaving a comment. I enjoy your dry, no-nonsense review style. I am going to respectfully disagree with you on this one. I do wish you'd picked up a P10C around the time they were first introduced as in comparison to other polymer framed, striker fired pistols it was indeed one of the best factory triggers available. It has since been over-shadowed by Walther and HK in that realm, and even Glock made significant improvements in the trigger of the Gen 5 models. I still love my CZ and after putting about 2k rounds through it in competition, requals and practice it has been 100% infallible and I shoot very well with it. I find the ergos work exceptionally well for me. I happen to be a huge fan of the blacked out rear sight, and many manufacturers have produced models with this same sight configuration since the P10C was released with it. All of this said, I 100% agree with you that the plates should be made free and CZ should not be charging for things like that. That would tic me off too. Also, the mags are very pricey and there are no aftermarket ones available. We can certainly agree on those points. Anyway thanks for your very thurough and extremely in-depth reviews.
I admit to being a CZ fanboy. I have a 75b, a 97b, a P07 and a Shadow 2. The P07 is my only plastic gun. All the rest are steel. Striker fired guns are not for me. By the way, I promise to never get in a gun fight with you! LOL
Thank you, Howard, this was a fine video, which (imho) confirmed your Part 1, shop review findings. My instincts tell me (as I mentioned in a comment to Part 1) that CZ’s management wanted to earn a decent share of the too prevalent and ubiquitous striker fired, polymer frame, large capacity, “safe action,” easily carriage and concealable, 9x19mm market. I entirely agree with the criticisms you specified in Part 1 - and believe it or not, I’m not being a CZ fanboy here - but I’d suggest that the P10C is essential on a par with its Glock, S&W, Walther, Springfield, etc. offerings . . . Fords and Chevys. Is it the best of this category? I suspect it isn’t. But is it a perfectly credible autoloader within that category, one that can be relied upon for successful lawful defensive use? I’d assert that it certainly is. In fact - and we share very similar feeling concerning America’s best selling handguns (Glocks) - were I to have a choice between this CZ and a Glock 17, 19 or 43X, I’d PERSONALLY opt for the CZ (however, were the choice between the CZ and an M&P (especially a Performance Canter model), or an H&H, or a Sig, or a Walther, or several Rugers, or . . . I’d likely not select the CZ).
I agree with you Roy. In all, as I mentioned at the end of this video, it's a pretty good pistol. I think many of my disapointments with it stem more from CZ's marketing practices and the rather exaggerated reviews we've seen concerning it's features and functions. Had those reviews been a little more objective, my expectations would likely have been somewhat less lofty. By the way, in yesterday's mail, I received the item you sent me. I simply cannot thank you enough!
You do you. I, personally, have nothing but praises about the CZ P10 series. I own the P10 F and the C suppressor-ready. They are reliable, very accurate, with smooth striker-fired trigger pulls and great ergonomics. I don't dislike Glock, but CZ is my favorite handgun. I also own the Walther PDP and the Canik METE models. All of them are better than the Glock.
Ive noticed the triggers for the Czech guns seem to be better then the made in USA ones. You can tell the difference when compared next to each other. Not sure if its a cost cutting or safety measure but i would recommend you try a Czech gun.
@@hrfunk Probably as simple as a finish on a part. But the Czechs still have a different standards in production that i'm not sure exists in this country anymore. Also my Czech P10 is a pretty early production model with quite a number of rounds and dry fires through it.

Looks like another GLOCK CLONE maybe better feel in the hand? Like the GLOCK it appears reliable, as all CZ pistols have been from my experience. Don't freeze up their. Been cold for us, down to 40 one morning, will be warming up here 75 today. Chamber of Commerce Weather. Another cold front this weekend. Hope that real bad weather has not impacted you. Carrying my Colt LW Commander 1971 era .45 1911, old habits....I do believe their is no such thing as the best single handgun for all defensive applications, even if John Brownings 1911 comes real close. Yet there are many great options in both pistols and revolvers, allowing the topic to be far more interesting.
I see the upside in the more natural grip angle, might be a better solution for those with big hands cause the grip has quite some area available and the magazines are higher quality. The sights are steel too. So if one isn't inclined to upgrade out of the box it's a good choice for the right price. When it came out it was far cheaper than Glocks as mentioned in part 1. Circumstances definitely dictate the right gear for the job. It's best to have wide selection ;).
When I think of a CZ pistol I think of the slide riding inside the frame. The CZ P10C is like most pistols and rides outside the frame. You're absolutely right on the creep of a trigger pulling your shot off. This happened with my 1st generation CZ P10C as well as my current Sig P365XL. After receiving a replacement 2nd gen with a no creep trigger P10c for the old broken 1st generation P10c my accuracy noticeably improved. My P365 has a smooth rolling trigger break without coming to a hard wall & because of that I shoot it much more accurately than me P365XL which has multi small creeps before coming to a hard wall, which throws the shot off. Have you spoken to CZ USA about this trigger issue? Was wondering if you bought an older 1st generation P10C? Also, can you polish the trigger parts for a smoother pull? Would be nice if you made another video on anything you or the factory did to resolve this bad trigger issue.
I have not contacted CZ customer service yet. Presently, I am trying to determine if this might be a break in issue. I have been dry firing the pistol like crazy to see if that helps the trigger improve. Thus far, I am seeing little improvement. I am sure I will do a follow up video in the future to let everyone know what happens with this handgun.
Not shot one, but have handled it, it seems like just another vanilla polymer pistol. Great review as always Chief. In light of recent stuff, hope your team is staying safe at work.
Howard: Would you be willing to take your M1 and do a video on the infamous “snapping in” procedure we had to endure. I think that would be of great interest- and even useful-for many non-Marines. Best channel on UA-cam!
Hey HR, run that thing and that trigger will smooth out. I have 2 and both are great shooters. The triggers are the exact same in both. Great video 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Jeff. I'm sure the trigger will get smoother, but due to the design I don't think the creep will ever go away. I also don't expect it will get much (if any) lighter unless I start changing springs.
@@hrfunk that’s odd with that creep. I have the older versions of that non optics and i have 0 creep at all on both of mine. Mine were made in the Czech Republic not here in the us. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
It's a good pistol but it doesn't stand out in CZ's lineup. I actually prefer the P-07 to the P10c but I'm a sucker for external hammer DA/SA handguns. Thanks for the honest and in-depth review of the gun!
I bought a p10c back in 2018. Pretty good gun but I had reliability problems due to its design. The slide stop spring can easily get out of position and then causes constant malfunctions. Lots of promise but not ready for prime time yet.
If I'm not mistaken, they had some changes somewhere in the production so far. I wonder if they made changes in that area as well. So far I only remember some work on the trigger.
I managed to miss out on seeing all the rave reviews until after I bought my P10S. My P10C (bought used from the gun store's rental "fleet," and yes, I have both the -S and the -C) had the ambidextrous mag release, and while I understand your desire for that feature, it was awful and stiff and crunchy, and the Apex Tactical replacement made the pistol much more comfortable for me, and it became my EDC for a while (until I got more comfortable with my P07, anyway...). Is the P10C the feline sleepwear? No, and I agree that reviews that do nothing but laud the gun do both the gun and the audience a disservice. Some of those reviewers would say you were nit-picking by pointing out the issues you disliked. That you acknowledge it to be a pretty decent gun despite the issues you raised, to me at least, allows for people to be subjective in what they like or not like. In your shop video, you mentioned that you weren't certain about magazine cross-compatibility. Because I have several CZ pistols, including the P10F and a P07, I can confirm that magazines from current-production P10F pistols will work in the P07. The current P07 magazines will work in the P10C and P10S. My P09 is apparently an older version, and the magazines that came with it won't work in current-production guns, but the current magazine for the P10F will work in the older P09. In short, current-production magazines of same or more capacity will work in P10F, -C, -S, and P09 and P07. They may not feel as good or look as "proper," but if one feels need to carry an "extended" magazine for a P10C, the 19-round P10F magazine will work well. And there are +2 base plates to be had--two came with my P10C!
Thanks for the info. I knew early on, the Mags from the P10 series would fit/function the older pistols but the opposite was not true. I’m glad CZ got that straightened out, but it might be a little confusing for those with the older P09/P07’s.
Your whole premise is your personal perception of the hype. Objectively, it outperforms the Glock in all aspects except aftermarket accessories. Other people's reception of the CZ has clouded yours.
IMO outstanding quality all around for CZ, but they are just not offering the P10 line in sufficient volume (even before today's issues). I would really like a P10C Tactical, but it is not available with plate options. Plate offering is not available with suppressor height sights and threaded barrel. Huge miss for me...same for P10s and P10f.
I think the issue is that there is a disconnect between CZUB and CZ-USA. CZUB seems to make decisions for CZ-USA, even if those decisions don't make sense for the US market. That's why CZ's presence in the bolt-action rifle market in the US has struggled for a long time and why they make such strange and obvious mistakes with marketing and feature selections. If CZUB would let CZ-USA have more control over what the company offers in the US, these issues would be addressed pretty quickly.
Every review is subjective. Personally I think the CZ P 10 C is a quality pistol. Does so many things well. G 19 Gen 5 is also a good pistol. Have both and just like the P 10 C better.
I like the P10C better than the Glock 19 too. Then again, I don't really like the Glock pistols, so that's not a very high bar. In general, as I said in the video, I think the P10C is a pretty good pistol, but it falls somewhat short of the hyperbolic claims/reviews we saw early on. Thanks for watching!
@@hrfunk I do wonder if they have fixed the striker issue some people have had. Also I am looking for a better guide rod. But definitely prefer my P 10 C. Much more comfortable to grip and shoot. And I realize Glock has had some issues with their striker too, plus the guide rod has to be changed out about 5k rounds. I put a tungsten guide rod in my G 19.
During the course of my 550+ videos, I have never kept track of which firearms, or how many of them, hit the tack. I can say that quite a few have done so. If you search back through my videos you will find a lot of them.
I hope you like it. As I mentioned in the video, it’s a good pistol overall. It’s reliable and relatively accurate. It points and handles well, and it seems to be as durable as many similar pistols. Be sure to let me know what you think of it after it arrives.
@@hrfunk to be honest I was also somewhat carried by the hype. Thank you for your ever honest reviews. I’m wondering what you think about the safety concerns raised here: ua-cam.com/video/Itq9frXH1DY/v-deo.html
As I recall, CZ addressed this issue some time ago. In any case, the pistol would have to be dropped from a sufficient height and strike the ground/floor/hard surface muzzle-first in order for this issue to possibly occur. At the end of the day, I’ve never heard of a P10 discharging as a result of this “issue.” I’m not worried about it with mine.
I was hoping it would be a tack driver after your first 3 shots. It was disappointing to see that at the end. I think they need to work on making the trigger a little more consistent from the factory.
The tack driver test depends on so many factors that day can't judge it on that .if people would actually shoot their guns they would feel the trigger smooth out its a good Trigger
@@hrfunk One of the things many videos don't show when featuring a new 'concealable' pistol or revolver is what would it really be like to carry the weapon concealed. Perhaps, you might do a video! Thanks!
@@johnzajac9849 Thanks, I've actually produced several videos that deal with carrying firearms, maybe I'll consider adding a segment to my review videos covering that aspect as well.
I wish that you can make a video that lists the pistols that made it to be a TACK DRIVER. Although if I bought a gun that was a tack driver, I would need to concede my shooting ability and not blame the gun.
I would actually have to go back through over 550 videos and see which ones did that. I've never kept track. Still, more times than not, it depends more upon my shooting that day than the pistol I'm using.
When the p10c came out in 2016 it wasn't a lot of shills like today doing all the reviews a lot were people who bought the gun and shot it then reviewed it some thought the ambi mag release was very stiff but still a good pistol. In 2016 the hype about the trigger was true it was at the time one of the best stock trigger out there even better after shooting several hundred rounds through it. The blacked out rear combat sights that you didn't like are fairly common now easy to pick up the front sight. I agree about the plates that ridiculous. most optic ready pistols don't come with Suppressor hight sights just a few . The gen 2 had some upgrades which made the p10c even better . I disagree with you on this one i don't think it was a fair review .
Hmm. I like the Steyr, but for practical use, the P10 has a more conventional grip angle and mine is optics ready so I think that gives it a slight edge. The P10 also has a greater selection of holsters.
@@hrfunk for sure Is absurd in 2022 a pistol without optic cut fron the factory. And with no afternarket support... The steyr could be easely the best..

Not shot one, but have handled it, it seems like just another vanilla polymer pistol. Great review as always Chief. In light of recent stuff, hope your team is staying safe at work.
All is well, but everyone’s on alert in case there’s a copycat.
Yet another great video. Thank you , sir.
You’re welcome Zachary. Thanks for watching!
Howard: Would you be willing to take your M1 and do a video on the infamous “snapping in” procedure we had to endure. I think that would be of great interest- and even useful-for many non-Marines. Best channel on UA-cam!
I don't know where I could get one of those barrels. Any thoughts?
@@hrfunk Good question. A couple of stacked 55 gals? Perhaps a local gas station has some kicking around.
For me even old CZ-75 was a Glock killer. That bulky Glock grip was rather uncomfortable for me since day 1
I’ve never cared for it either.
@@Jeff-xn1ew Maybe. All I know for sure is it exists in mine.
It's a good pistol but it doesn't stand out in CZ's lineup. I actually prefer the P-07 to the P10c but I'm a sucker for external hammer DA/SA handguns. Thanks for the honest and in-depth review of the gun!
You’re welcome Karl. Thanks for watching!
Looks like I might be getting a P-10c .... nice shooting ..
Thanks Rich!
I bought a p10c back in 2018. Pretty good gun but I had reliability problems due to its design. The slide stop spring can easily get out of position and then causes constant malfunctions.
Lots of promise but not ready for prime time yet.
I will add that as someone with large hands I Ioved the magic they used in the grip. The grip is g17 in length but the height of the pistol is a g19.
If I'm not mistaken, they had some changes somewhere in the production so far. I wonder if they made changes in that area as well. So far I only remember some work on the trigger.
@@onpsxmember That could be. In a newer one I saw the spring was a little bit different, possibly b/c of that problem.
Although this is not a pistol I would ever consider buying, I thought the accuracy was decent.
The accuracy is quite good. I was rather impressed as well.
Thanks - good video. It would be interesting to see it compared to the CZ P09.
If I get hold of a P09 (or a P07 for that matter) you see a comparison.
@@hrfunk
If you do, keep an eye on any roll pins out on a stroll.
As always good vid,👍
Thank you!
Despite the fact that it wasn’t a Tack Driver this time, it still has fairly good accuracy!
One moment…
-Sobs in Los Angeles County;
Sorry!
@@hrfunk Yeah, California, I don’t recommend anyone to visit… Next year it’ll be in my rear view, which means a new setting for my future videos!
@@SHADOWACTUAL Good for you.Where are you going?
@@hrfunk It’s looking like Las Vegas. Coincidentally, almost all the LE agencies there are hiring, so that’s something to look forward to!
@@SHADOWACTUAL Good luck.
Hello nice presentation. Saludos
Thank you!
Your whole premise is your personal perception of the hype. Objectively, it outperforms the Glock in all aspects except aftermarket accessories. Other people's reception of the CZ has clouded yours.
I am no fan of Glocks, but how does the P10 outperform them “in all aspects”?
You need to make your hostage target more stable and then it would work properly.
Sooner or later I will.
Agreed. That's similar to some of the things I mentioned in part-1 of this review.
If CZUB would let CZ-USA have more control over what the company offers in the US, these issues would be addressed pretty quickly.
nice review. I'd be interested if the trigger gets better after the gun breaks in? As always, enjoy your channel!
Thanks Chas. If it improves significantly, I'll report that.
I believe that the striker problem has been remedied.
@@hrfunk Thanks I figured they would get it right.
Like I thought, a good solid pistol but really no better than what is already on the market. Great video but it looked cold.
Yep, that was a cold day, but it was warmer than it is now!
It is better than the glock.
To me, in terms of ergonomics, I would say yes.
This is the first time I've seen a "tact driver test". Which of the guns you've tested hit the tact? Just wondering.
During the course of my 550+ videos, I have never kept track of which firearms, or how many of them, hit the tack. I can say that quite a few have done so. If you search back through my videos you will find a lot of them.
I should’ve watched this video 10 hours ago
May I ask what happened 10 hours ago?
@@hrfunk I ordered one. Hahaha
I agree.
The tack driver test depends on so many factors that day can't judge it on that .if people would actually shoot their guns they would feel the trigger smooth out its a good Trigger
Another great review!
Thanks John!
@@hrfunk I will look for them! :)
@@hrfunk I'm watching one of your CCW videos, dated, 21 January 2016.
👍
Really? I understand if you disagree with some of my points, but I do think I was fair.
Steyr mf or p10c? Thanks
It still amazes me that they didn’t make it optic ready when they redesigned it a couple of years ago. An optic might off set the steep grip angle.
Looks like cz p10 is another gun like others looks well made sorry I overslept
You're still a Morgan person.^^
