I could listen to that man talk about food all day long. I'm so glad these videos are made. Imagine the wealth of knowledge he has, that may be lost without these wonderful records and teachings. Few things are more respectful and flattering than integrating others dishes and culture to your own, which helps it live on.
I’m from South Australia grew up in Melbourne Victoria and grew up in up around Chinese culture and moving to Adelaide ..I did struggle to find good food however I had fun trying to find my childhood favourites xx thankyou so much for your awesome videos it helps pass on your wonderfull gifts to my children and hopefully grandchildren soon xx thankyou Zoe from Adelaide South Australia xxx I have learnt so much it’s amazing what food can do for a family x
Chef Lau's warm welcome to everyone at his table should be studied by world leaders who want to foster friendships, avert wars and engage in civil and diplomatic relationships. Making the world a better place through Cantonese cooking!
Hi Daddy Lau and family, I'm new to your channel but I've watched so many of your videos already. How lucky we are to have access to authentic Cantonese cooking. Back in the 80s when I was a new Aussie mum married to a HK Chinese, I had no idea how to reproduce those wonderful meals my mother-in-law cooked for us. There were no recipe books and since my mother-in-law couldn't speak English, I had to rely on my husband to help (he was pretty good actually). Thirty years later, I rarely cook Chinese meals (my husband passed away seven years ago), but I'm now really motivated to try some of these dishes again. Thanks for your inspiration and keep the videos coming.
Still my favourite noodle dish growing up and til today. Appreciate the recipe and steps! Always love your adding Chinese history about food and culture along with the wonderful nostalgic recipes. Love Daddy Lau's joyful announcement to everybodt "Heuk faan!!." Love your channel I watch everyone of them.
Beef chow fun in Indonesia also very famous and it is a very delicious, even there is restaurant who serves only beef chow fun, with many variations, :the fried dry one, the wet one, the half dry half wet, and the boiled one.
A neutral oil of whatever quality u prefer like vegetable, canola etc. I dont recommend anything like olive oil for example here as the flavor can be intrusive and even a sesame cooking oil can be as well. Tldr: vegetable will work fine.
I'm trying to concentrate on what Daddy Lau is saying, but I just end up watching the baby sleeping in Mama Lau's arms instead. So freaking cute! I'm gona have to watch this vid again, good tactic guys 😆
Great recipes as always, but honestly as a Hong Konger I think Singapore Noodles belongs on any "top three noodles" list. I'd drop the veggie lo mein for that in a heartbeat!
Where does daddy Lau buy his ‘fun’ for his chow fun? I live in the SF Bay Area as well. I never seen the bulk kind of packaging that he shows in the video. Thank you.
Beef chow fun. I’m hear the translation of dry fried cow rice noodle from chef Lau. Vegetable Lo mein direct translate sounds like loose vegetable mix noodle. Hong Kong style noodle sounds like chick prawn zin noodles, with zin noodles looking like a thinner version of linguine.
I think it's universal no matter where you go, you can always judge a Chinese restaurant by how good its beef chow fun is. Also hot sauce absolutely required.
I guess it's only Americans calling it 煎麵. There is no such term as 港式煎麵 in Hong Kong! 兩面黃 is correct, or simply 炒麵. That third dish is similar to 廣東炒麵 (kinda popular too in Toronto here😊) except for a little difference in ingredients.
If it weren't for the fact that I won't have any income for a few months, I would join. I recently, yesterday, got a proper wok after all. And your father is just great!
Hello mr thank you so much for for your amazing super delicious yummy yummy Recipe And thank you for your video enjoy 💞💚🟨🥰🟠🥰🟠🟠💟💟🟣🌹🌹🌹🟢🟢🔴🔴🔴💌🟥🥰🥰🟠🔴🌺💛🟪💕💕💕🔵♥️💓♦️🟡💞❤️💛🔴💌😁💟💟💌💚🌺🌺💓🧡🟩💕
You should buy a propane wok burner for your dad. You can't get the wok hei flavor that's needed for chow ho fun with house burners. It won't taste good.
Your Dad talks too fast and the English verbiage written below doesn’t stay up long enough to be able to read! I love your shows and the food but I can’t catch up with what Dad is doing and the amount of ingredients 💕🙏🙏
Have you learned the word”recap” ? It means rewatch it again again again until got the answer , satisfaction , not complain complain complain , it is a cooking video , not a baby sitting video !

The way Lau looked at his son and giggled proudly was so adorable.

Daddy Lau hand feeding you is the most wholesome part of the video
Even if it looked a bit hot lol. But yes, I agree.
@@MaZEEZaM Food should be hot!
So bless to have a father who can cook so well such a wonderful family
Tq Uncle lau. Loves listening to yr authentic voice, cooking and tips. Brings joyful memories of Grandma & parents. Keep it the good work. 👍

Incredable man and teacher. Chef lau, thank you for sharing all your experience as a well respected chef and family man. You have beautiful family.

Love that Daddy Lau uses measuring spoons for videos while it is so unnecessary for him 😊

Can you marinade the sesame oil into the beef with the sauces before cooking?
Beef chow fun in Indonesia also very famous and it is a very delicious, even there is restaurant who serves only beef chow fun, with many variations, :the fried dry one, the wet one, the half dry half wet, and the boiled one.
I just made the hong kong style noodles and they were amazing!!! So easy too for how good they tasted
Can corn starch be substituted with baking soda, or is it a must for most meaty dishes?
Thank you for mentioning "99 Ranch Market." Where I live, each Asian market carries different products based on specific cuisines.
Love watching. Even if it makes me hungry while watching it. Does it really matter which type of oil to cook most of the dishes?
A neutral oil of whatever quality u prefer like vegetable, canola etc. I dont recommend anything like olive oil for example here as the flavor can be intrusive and even a sesame cooking oil can be as well. Tldr: vegetable will work fine.
.....Вкусно....очень!😊😊😊Very tasty!😊😊😊
น่าทานมากๆค่ะ ประเทศฉันเรียกว่าผัดซีอิ้ว ใส่ผักคะน้าก็อร่อยค่ะ
Great recipes it is possible if daddy Lau can cook easy version 海南雞飯 plz because my family love it 😊
I'm sure all those noodle dishes are all delicious.
爸爸整每一樣餸睇到流口水,佢之前應該係廚師👨🏻🍳好專業呀!多謝教學!移咗民都可以食返香港味道好感動🥲

Third one is my favourite because I like that gravy on crispy noodles but I make the vegetarian or seafood version and also add tofu.
Where can I find the colander Daddy Lau used to steam and drain the noodles in the third segment? So versatile!
Hi, can your dad please do a session introducing his cooking tools like woks, lids, knives etc? Thanks!
Noodles are my favorites
delish looking dishes...thank you sir foryour easy directions ❤❤

Hi, what kind of wok ate you using please? I need to buy one.
i love when you say how to make dishes vegetarian. saves me from having to think about it too much myself ahahah
Beef chow fun. I’m hear the translation of dry fried cow rice noodle from chef Lau.
Vegetable Lo mein direct translate sounds like loose vegetable mix noodle.
Hong Kong style noodle sounds like chick prawn zin noodles, with zin noodles looking like a thinner version of linguine.
Andy, where can I buy the wok your dad used? Is it iron steel wok ? Can I get it from Amazon ? I am from Florida
I think it's universal no matter where you go, you can always judge a Chinese restaurant by how good its beef chow fun is.
Also hot sauce absolutely required.
Great teamwork. Man you make me so hungry!
good! this old man know how to cook good and teach to cook the correct way for hongkong food
Love the noodles. Thank you so much
Everybody pay attention. Class is in session. Daddy Lau has the floor.
Could you teach us how to season a wok?
looks good man! those wok skills are good!
It’s amazing what The Lord our God has given to us to prepare for food!
God bless in Jesus’ name!
Another really great video BUT there was a BUG in the baking soda 😨 2:03
Does anyone know what “Hong doy” means? These dishes looks so delicious!
the first word is the name of his grandson. The second word is the TaiShaness (part of Guang Dong province) pronunciation for boy.
"Hong Doy" is the baby's nickname. Even the baby is too young to eat, Daddy Lau is including him in the family meal with love 💕
廣東的“粉”or " Pho" in Vietnam or "粄” for Hakka people.
They looks similar😮
I guess it's only Americans calling it 煎麵. There is no such term as 港式煎麵 in Hong Kong! 兩面黃 is correct, or simply 炒麵. That third dish is similar to 廣東炒麵 (kinda popular too in Toronto here😊) except for a little difference in ingredients.
What knife ware & cookware do you recommend?
What type of Wok does he use? And what size?

好多謝您嘅支持!我用嘅河粉係唐人街買的,其實各地嘅大型華人超市都可以買到新鮮河粉(如大華99)。老劉衷心祝福您闔家平安!新春快樂!
Can we use plant based meat?
Ahhhhh, I want it, I want it!!!
In Hawaii we call it cake noodles and we love it 😀
FUN FACT: Thai version is called Pad See Ew
hi sorry to ask what’s “san fun”
is “san fun” cornstarch ?
Yummy!
Beef chow fun marinade looks the same as beef n broccoli
Dear Daddy Lau, can you use “Japanese Sukiyaki marble beef “ for this Chow Hor … … ?
this fam is so cute
Does your dad know how to make Silky Egg Beef over Rice? It's very rare to find this dish. I only know 1 restaurant that makes it.
It's funny the grandfather always ends with "his grandson's name + let's eat"
Don't force the background lounge music. Let the cooking sing...
Yum
Sorry 10 OZ how many grams is that?
Im watching UAE
Here I am standing with half a carrot pondering if size matters 😅😅
SimpLe but Super Yummy😍
wok hei every day
You should buy a propane wok burner for your dad. You can't get the wok hei flavor that's needed for chow ho fun with house burners. It won't taste good.
