How do you like the accurate reel? I was considering purchasing a BV-500N-SPJ or maybe the BV-300N-SPJ. Decided to go with the lever drag over Shimano's Ocea jigger. Any feedback would be helpful, thanks!
Hello Jim. My name’s George. I live here in So Cal and also fish the Channel Islands. In fact I’ll be on the Stardust tomorrow. It will be my first slow pitch experience. I’m using a Seigler SGN with an Hawaiian Customs slow pitch rod I’ll probably use a different spa rod 500 Gmail max. Gonna start with 20 pd braided with 15 pd top shot. Your UA-cam channel has encouraged me to reach out share my experiences with those taking that same path. Your information is so important to all of us just getting into this style. I’ve been wanting to slow pitch since last year. Wish me luck.
Just saw this comment. I'm glad you had a great trip! It's so cool that you had a blast on your first SPJ trip. I remember mine wasn't so smooth to start with :)
Hey brother, I use the gram to depth formula; 1 gram per foot, 150 ft-150gr... it's just an easy way to do math and of course it's just rule of thumb, not exactly science but it works for me🤙🙏
Good to know that I am not the only slow pitch guy in long beach. I was on the Freedom (22nd landing)last week. I had a great time with setup. I believe that it was app 250 ft deep and I was using 15lb braid with 30lb mono leader. Jig weight that used was 250g. Reel- valiant600nn
I waws excited about my 5lb whitefish I caught on a double dropper loop with squid and a 8oz torpedo weight on the Vision out of Santa Barbara in September, until I saw your whitefish. HOLY COW!! Did you get the measurements on that?? Awesome catch!!

How would compare the temple reef rod to your Shimano game type slow J?
Which La ding are you fishing out of and which boat? 3/4 day?
