I relate so hard! I always thought I was just being needlessly picky, now I know that my discomfort was very real, and a very common symptom of neurodivergence - sadly it took until middle age before being diagnosed, so there's many decades of self hatred, and self criticism to unlearn. I desperately hope that knowledge, and access to diagnosis, is much better for young people today.

I work for a printing company and we also print on textiles. The Sul Sul shirt's print looks to be a puff up heat transfer flex foil print. Those prints are typically pretty durable, but they are very stiff and can make the garment sit a bit weird on you if the print is big.
Also, the reason they cut out the original shirt tag is probably because they don't want you/people to know who the original manufacturer of the shirt is lol
Add-on edit: The pale yellow shirt probably smells weird because of the printing process used for it. Though that process also makes for a very thin and barely noticeable print, however it's usually less durable (both compared to the heat transfer foil print).
I kinda knew different printing techniques would produce different textures, but it was in the more general “of course different techniques have different textures” way. It’s kinda cool to get specific details that fill in details I didn’t really know I was missing. Cheers for the info, very cool and very appreciated.
want cake looks silk screened to me love them they go a bit shrively when the washing machine shrinks the shirt but i love a screenprinted one done right cos they dont feel funny on my skin

i got a bunch a Chiefs stickers 5 years ago, from my SIL and i FINALLY used one 2 days ago lmao. i got that sparkly arrowhead on my laptop now lol. but it took my 5 years to finally decide to use it because of the anxiety of, what if i wanna put it somewhere else? i thought, its been 5 years woman, if you havent put it on something yet, you wont so, laptop is my only thing i use on a minutely basis lmao

as someone who works in merchandising, honestly $50 for a crewneck is kind of refreshing to see, I'm so used to some concert merch being $75 for the same thing 😅 still not ideal pricing, but I'm glad to see they're attempting to keep the prices (somewhat) reasonable instead of upcharging a ridiculous amount!

For me, being able to have things in my house that are in the game (like the postcards) is better than items promoting Sims. I would like a snow globe, or a gnome figurine, or a freezer bunny neon sign. Maybe other collectibles in game, or items that are decor in the Sims that I could have a small version of in my room. The cowplant pin does look nice!

They should make the octopus and strawberry turtle from Nifty Knitting into plushies. I’d buy those in a heartbeat.
I could see a lot of simmers buying them. Kayla would probably ask for a grim plushie.
Or sell the patterns for us actual knitters and crocheters and we could make them ourselves 😁

hey Kayla ! i also dont really like white clothing, but they are super good for tie dye !!!! you could also dye it with fabric dye if you wanted a solid color as well. i think that way you can make your own unique "limited edition" crew neck or hat or whatever white clothing you have.
I will always appreciate how real you are about the value of things. It's so obvious you are transparent and have your viewers' best interest in mind :)
If you’re nervous about using stickers, I would recommend getting some magnetic tape. Cut the stickers out with their backing still attached, stick the magnetic tape on, and now you have some fun magnets that you can put on your fridge or wherever :)
that's actually a great idea! I can also recommend getting a sticker book! so you can put them in the book but also be able to use them somewhere else later :D
it would've been cool if they could sell some of the classic tshirts or outfits that Sims wear in game. maybe halloween 2024!

Watching from New Zealand! - Can confirm the pricing is NZD is on par and SUPER impressed with the shipping!! Flat rate $18 shipping charge. Which getting stuff shipped to NZ is hella expesnive! So I will certainly be buying off this store once they get more stock.

I definitely feel that with the stickers. I'm a generally anxious person so I've always been worried about using the sticker in the wrong way or on the wrong thing. I finally managed to reach a point recently where I acknowledge that stickers are made to be used, and I can use them and enjoy them and there is not any one way to do so. Over the past year I have been adding stickers to the back of my laptop and it's been almost cathartic to reach a point where, instead of worrying about putting it on wrong or finding the perfect sticker, just always being on the lookout for stickers that may give me joy and find ways to incorporate it on the space that remains. If any start wearing off, that's fine, because they served their purpose and gave me joy for the time that they were there.
i really appreciate you saying that stuff is too expensive and not just about this merch but also when packs come out and such. alot of youtubers wouldnt be that honest about stuff so i appreciate you being real when it comes to all that, thinking about how for us, buying merch and packs isnt always feasible
This might sound a little wild, but honestly it felt like the Sims team was taking a page out of Kayla's book here with this photoshoot. Every promo photo that she scrolled through, I thought looked like it could have come from a photoshoot for Kayla's own merch. Which is a compliment to EA, because I love all of Kayla's promo stuff!
As someone who works in shipping, $15 is cheap for the amount you bought!! Shipping is never free though, so I question why they didn’t offer “free shipping”-$15 is way too little to offset the shipping cost, so they’re still eating parts of it. Interesting business strategy.
i'm a bit shocked that shipping wasnt free for her 700$ order :D also i loved the pins and postcards, but i wont pay 15€ shipping for an ENVELOPE to ship to me. that is just too ridiculous tbh. wouldve prefered if they had different rates at least for stickers and cards that you can send for way less.
Here I was wondering when the last time was she shipped anything lol. $15 for 2 packages is cheap because just the box was probably over $15. Of course, with her order size, free shipping would have been a nice perk lol.
the waterbottle+stickers are definitely overpriced, buuuuuut i kind of really like that there’s two sheets with the same prints on them. soo u can use one sheet for the waterbottle and still have the other to use elsewhere. that would definitely help me with the sticker anxiety

I also think the postcards are amazing! I would love it if they did full on poster prints of them as well. That would be awesome for decorating purposes if you only wanted one of the set! There are also a ton of in game poster designs for them to choose from!

What I think happened with the sweatpants and hoodie is, is that they used a different supplier meaning that the fabrics would be a little different. It also means that they offered fewer sizes for the sweatpants.

6:00 im a seamstress and i make clothing for dolls and such and from my experiense its way harder to make pants that look right on curvyer/bigger dolls so that might be why? still does not justefy it but its something to think about

I got the cowplant pin and the post cards too. I'm glad you spoke about the clothing though, I was worried about texture and thickness of them.
It looks like the post card was scratched from the outside, maybe when opening the box? If you look at the packaging before you opened it it already has the scratch, and the plastic does as well. So looks like it could be from a box cutter or something similar.
If I were them i would take those characters from the shirtsand run with it, like imagine what you could do with those, sticker, plushies, tshirts, even stories 😩
For international buyers, they have a set amount of 25,95 in my case euro's. But I do have to say that international shipping I expected there to be a fee but within America itself.. And after the amount of money Kayla already spend, I think it is insane to ask shipping cost. Especially that much. 🤔

they should bring the sim-artist tshirts from the in game sim sessions and the city living stall shirts from like geekcon and the festivals and stuff.
It breaks my heart that society is still so hyper critical of girls' and young women's appearances that someone, as accustomed to being in front of a camera* as Kayla, still feels uncomfortable with her body image. We need to do better by our young people.
* edit: this comment originally made reference to Kayla's appearance - which isn't remotely ok. I thank those in the comments that helped me realize that I was contributing to the very problem about which I was complaining. We live and learn, I will do better in future.

you're completely correct but I don't think that it's actually the main reason she doesn't want to, she's talked about not wanting to stand up on stream before when she cuts her camera to do it and it's not really to do with insecurity, more so she doesn't want to show her body to creeps on the internet but ppl in chat will give her grief when she says that, saying things like "are you calling us creeps?" or "we wouldn't do that to you!" and clearly stressed her out a bit so now she switched to saying she's just not feeling confident

Well the good thing about the sims being expensive is at least we've had years and years to spread out spending that as opposed to all at once. And yeah, I agree it's overpriced. I don't spend much on merch anymore, honestly. It has to be something I REALLY want. I do love stickers, and if they sold the Nalgene stickers separately I'd probably get them. They're much cuter than the other sticker pack.

they're plastic sheets that you can put in a journal (or buy one as a journal) and they allow the stickers to stay sticky! so you can remove them whenever you want :D

I *REALLY* want the postcards and plush but I'm in Canada so the prices are higher because conversion (The plush is $41 and the postcards are $28!!!) and I would have to pay way too much in shipping (which I can't even check because it's not letting me add items that are in stock to my cart for some reason) if Simsie who is in the US had to pay $15!!! Not to mention they're STILL sold out😭

Actually I do think the yellow looks good on you! I think it's just the right shade. I think the problem is the mix of the yellow AND the orangey/red font. The two colors mixed makes it a bit off in color for you.
I have texture issues and get washed out by yellows too. I've never related so hard honestly.

I have a reusable sticker book to help with sticker anxiety! I also don't like super large stickers like that because they take up way too much real estate on my water bottle, but the sticker books helps so I can still enjoy them but I also don't have to worry about "but I'm not gonna use it" or finding the perfect spot for them. Highly recommend a reusable sticker book!!

I saw the puff print tshirt and immediately shivered from thinking about the texture lolll. But... $15 for shipping really isn't a lot. Amazon has completely altered the shipping cost expectation and most places that arent Amazon, Target, big clothing companies, etc. can't ship for free. $15 is actually quite a small amount for the size and weight of what you ordered. However, since you paid $700, that seems a little strange that it wasn't free. I also love enamel pins and it sucks that they're so expensive but I think they're just expensive to make from what I've heard from artist's selling them

All I want is the higher skill level paintings from the game as posters for my room. I tend to just make couples that I play as people who buy, update, and flip houses and at least one of every couple I play is an artist. I don't know why but that's what I like to do and I buy the packs just to have more options for that, so I really just want the art, unless they wanted to do some household items like the clutter they have in game or something.
i'm glad they upgraded their quality, i have a sims 1 t-shirt from the old collection and the quality of the print is very low. if it hadn't been a gift i would be angry 😾

I will say there are some adorable items on Etsy. Particularly shirts for the different towns
