71 yo here. My 16yo granddaughter patiently explained the difference between gender and sex. Plus the difference between the various pronouns. It was all matter of fact to her. I was the one who struggled with the details. Summary; don't worry about the kids, they can handle this stuff.

I can remember The Brady Bunch tackling the gender wars with The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts back in the early 70s. Peter became a Girl Scout to prove a point. I don’t recall anyone losing their marbles over it. How far we’ve sunken.

The outrage over Boy Scouts of America changing its name is absolutely hilarious to me as a Canadian because since the 1970 Scouts Canada has included girls alongside the boys in scouts. in 1976 Boy Scouts Canada changed his name to Scouts Canada. So the announcement by Boy Scouts of America is 50 years behind Canada.
