Sara, we just buried a friend of mine yesterday who passed from cancer. I guess you know that this album (Magic & Loss) is about Lou losing his friend to cancer. All good songs, but I like "The Sword of Damecles" a lot. Watching his friend die, "This drawn out torture over which part of you lives is very hard to take...." Only Lou. May be the greatest storytelling artist that ever lived. I miss Lou and Bowie a lot. Followed them from their beginnings, just out- lived them.
The album Magic and Loss was written as a tribute to a friend of Reed's who had died of cancer. I listen to it when I lose someone important in my life. It helps.

Magic And Loss is a bit like Berlin. The music is great (and the production here is truly superb) but you have to cope with the lyrics which define grief even too well

I'm willing to bet that they made Lou Reed do this. It is much too literal. David Lee Roth warned us about videos like this.
But the only thing is....................DLR must've liked the director of this (Matt Mahurin) since he previously directed his Sensible Shoes video.
What's up with the enormous amount of dislikes?
Only 2 t0 1 Up v Down??? WTF
