In this video we speak with Karen who is originally from the Northern Cape and is currently situated besides Mochachos on 2 Three Anchor Bay Rd, Three Anchor Bay, Cape Town. She speaks of how she ended up on the streets, conditions in Cape Town shelters and what her proposal is for the solution to homelesness in Cape Town.
This women is intelligent and has a lot to offer, she has to get off the streets asap.

My daughter left me on the street to die. After helping her for years. Cape Town streets are horrific I spent nights outside cop shops hosp got robbed etc. Eventually I found acc job and my angel son is helping me. It's a hell I'm still traumatized. Please God help this women.

What she makes sense! I don’t want to give money into the hands of people taking donations for the poor! I believe we must look around us and take responsibility to the widows and the orphans in our communities. Also….take responsibility for your family! I've never thought about homelessness like that, the total amount of human beings each day/night that survive and camp on the streets. 18k is a lot of people, a huge amount but homelessness is all across the metro, the total figure for the Cape Town metro must be extremely large 😮😮
A story I did under went too. I am a lady that went through the same thing's and no one wants to under stand's that really happened to women, and the Narsis men got believed and the crazy women not. Even the Narsis men's children believe there father.
This is heartbreaking 😢.

I've watched a few of these nterwiews on homelessness in other countries and in some they've started the people off in tiny houses intil they get on their feet and once they can they have bigger houses and they can progress and get their dignity back. So the government must give a big ov land to start it off and they must help paint their homes etc, then run their own communities but there must br help in the beginning to start it off and how to run it, plus there must be centre's incorporated into the housing of learning skills weather it's building, painting cooking for the people, education is great way to start off everyone has a skill to add to society. May this interview help all the homeless people, maybe this I'd going to be your calling in life

@@elnavanrensburg3629 ye i am talking maybe 15 years ago in Durban i went through a rough patch only had enough for either accommodation or food went to salvation army when i saw how they expect people to live i decided i need accommodation more than i need food it was hard for a while but because i had a room with a roof i was at least save at night and i could concentrate on the rest job , food etc stay strong sister and believe that Jesus has a better way for you don't let the streets change you into someone you won't recognize later. from a fellow Traveller in life GOD BLESS
