Hi! So much thanks for sharing my article and referring to the source. Much appreciated 🙏 This is a robusta indeed. Greenish color and fronts that are not cut out more than half way gives it away. However, there are a lot of hybridizations out there, in different degrees. It could have some filifera blood as the petioles lack the purple color but it has all the other characteristics so clearly that I wouldn’t say that this is a filibusta. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻
Hi! I think you have got a ‘filibuster’ which is a hybrid of robusta and filifera. Regarding the base of the trunk swelling, that is a normal trait of Washingtonia and shows your palm is healthy and growing well 👍
@Veedub, thank you so much. I am new to palms and I had 1% feeling that it was hybrid. Thanks for the input. May be I should shoot a video on filibuster vs filifera vs robusta 😂
@Palms I am based in Middlesex. I planted it next to house wall to give it bit more heat in winter. Ideally how much away should it be from the wall (trunk distance) Thank you so much!
@@urbantropicalukI would say Trachycarpus fortunei but this is exactly why I prefer using the scientific names rather than the common names as the same name can be used for different palm species 🙄
