K L sometimes I am there for maintenance training and sometimes they just want me to teach them how to drive the boat so I can’t spend as much time on the details if it isn’t dangerou . Here is one time that I could spend the right amount of time on maintenance...and be able to film it as well. ua-cam.com/play/PLjgsk20PyRl0X_klR7v2G7UJd_qJ2Ka76.html
Yes that is the stupidest reply I have ever heard LOL I work on diesels every single day and diesel fuel is the worst thing in the world to get on your hands it absolutely destroys your hand and if you're going to keep a video educating people on how to do something why not do it properly with gloves and replacing the bowl and tank for that matter instead of being super lazy at least coming from the captain who kind of sounds like a prick thinking you're a genius but who am I to say anything I know better accept the fact that I wear gloves replace the bowl and talk in a nice friendly tone when educating my fellow peers so I guess I am better LOL God bless
This boat does not have a polishing pump. And if it did, we would prime it the same way as shown. What May overflow was captured in the blue bucket. We also clean up using simple green which takes away the fuel and therefore the smell.
Watch and listen between 0:35 and 1:10 and you’ll hear what I would have done if we had time. This client wanted docking practice and this cleaning would have taken a lot longer than we had time for and would have been irrelevant until the fuel and tank were polished properly.
No. The element (the paper pleated filter) must be replaced. We suggest that you clean the bottom of the bowl when you do it yourself. This was a quick fix because the client wanted docking practice in the daylight. We could do maintenance later.
Excellent video captain. You did a great explaining the procedure
nashguy207 thanks. We appreciate the kind words 😎
Hope you got your flashlight back eventually!
Sure did. It was my favorite.
Tightening down with a wrench is unnecessary.
Hand tighten only.
See Racor video by their technician.
At 4.23 I said to turn the face so we could see it. We rotated the npt with Teflon tape so it could be seen easier.
AGAIN you don't drain the bowl. Come on Captain.

Why no gloves when handling diesel?
ANDREW Becker because he’s a man.

Why not prime it with the polishing pump and not make fuel run down the fuel line to who knows where and smell the boat up.

My tanks are below the raycore filters so i don’t think they’ll gravity flow fuel. But I have a polishing pump. Maybe it will work idk.
Life_raft_fam but you still need to leave the top off if you use the polishing pump to prime. This will expel the air in the chamber.
I was expecting you to clean the razor filter assembly but you just replaced the filter and didn't clean the Racor!

@@AskCaptainChris really?can we just clean the razor filter assembly without replacing the filter with the new one?
