    Here's the steps, so helpful video! *Buy the right/correct type of rice and store it correctly.
    *Wash rice 3-4 times & drain
    *Place in pot with 1 to 1 ratio rice to water
    *Soak rice at least 1/2 hour
    *Cook on High heat at first till boiling (about 10 minutes)
    * Then turn down to very low and set timer/cook for 12 minutes
    *Turn heat off, let sit to steam for 10 minutes, do not open lid
    *Fluff rice with large spoon or fork, don't mash it.

    So I wanted to prepare my lunch with this recipe and it worked awesome. One small problem I had was I couldnt get the specific Rice you mentioned and I use my own rice (Persian White Rice) and it turned out a bit dry. So I guess I'll make another batch later and add more than 1cup of water (cuz our traditional recepie uses about half a cup more and I think it's bcuz of the rice itself) or I prolong the soaking part.
    Anyway it was a great video thanks thanks thanks 😋

    Can you tell me what number is the temperature you use for ''low heat'' and ''high heat'' on your induction stove? I used to make perfect koshihikari rice on my former gas stove, but now that I'm making rice on induction stove and with my creuset, the rice turns out off, a bit mushy and overcooked but some parts are still hard, not entirely cooked. This doesn't happen with my normal, non heavy pot (with a very thin lid), so not sure what is happening here with the combination of creuset + induction... Any ideas?

    How do you reheat the rice once cooled?

    • @asakusa-tokyokitchen
      @asakusa-tokyokitchen  3 роки тому +1

      Microwave. It’s important to reheat it until steaming hot to regain the softness and stickiness 😉.

    I live at 2100+ meters altitude. Do you think there would be any changes to cooking rice for high-altitude?

      I think you need a bit more water, soaking time and cooking time😉.

      @@asakusa-tokyokitchen so I made rice. Other than adding an extra half cup of water per cup of rice, I followed the instructions to the letter, and it turned out perfectly. ありがとうございます!

      I normally reheat it steaming hot to regain the softness and the sticky-ness.

    The Japanese rice sold in my supermarket has the words "No wash rice. Just add water". Why this rice does not require washing 4 times? Is it because it has already been pre-washed ?? Thank you.

    What is the best way to warm the rice after you take it out of the fridge?

    • @asakusa-tokyokitchen
      @asakusa-tokyokitchen  3 роки тому +6

      Microwave. Make sure to heat it up completely. If it’s not hot enough, rice won’t regain the softness and stickiness.
      I normally do 1 minute at 600w per pack.
