Hey man is the Single Overhead Cam
No this is the dual overhead cam engine.
Hey, did you find out what was the issue? Just a quick tip, whenever you are turning the crankshaft with some load, be sure to put some spacer or washer behind the crank bolt, even with just the rings resistance it can bind and mess up the threads, the axle nut plus the big crank washer works great there, also I see that you were looking for clearances between the pistons and crank but didn't see the thrust end play (and setting the thrust bearing), you usually just fix the bearing to the block/girdle with some grease and align the girdle (also if you are closely following the FSM they have the illustration for the thrust bearing backwards, flat side goes to the girdle), tighten the bolts by hand and tap the crank back and forth with a soft mallet while turning it to properly seat the bearings, then just torque the bolts to spec and check thrust with dial indicator/feeler gauge just like the FSM indicates.
Alberto, thanks for asking. I just posted the video showing what the problem was and how simple it was to fix. Its been a busy few weeks so sorry to leave you hanging on such a cliff hanger :) Also thanks for the tip, I am going to make sure that I put something behind the crank bolt!
You didn't even compare the length of the aftermarket rods to the original ones, they're always different. Likewise you've got a 2nd gen crank in a 1st gen block, that shouldn't be a problem but you always check everything at every stage,The counterweights on the 2nd gen crank are slightly bigger. It looks like a non turbo block too, so why fancy parts?
Thanks for watching, it is a turbo block. I checked the rods back when I first assembled them against the existing pistons ... all was good there. I did some research to ensure that I could use the 2nd gen crank in the 1st gen block, so I think I am good there as well. For now I am just trying to rebuild the engine so I can drive it, but I figured since I took it down this far, I might as well get some decent parts for it.

I’m trying to find the torque specs for the maxspeedingrods connecting rods. Do you happen to remember what they were?
I am sorry I do not, I just checked to see if I could find the documentation, but I believe that I threw out the paperwork after I was done. I will check a few other places, but I am not optimistic that I will find the docs. A search on the internet for the ARP 2000 bolts that come with the connecting rods says ~45ft lbs. ... but I can NOT validate that. Good luck to you.

My friend, did you do any measuring before/during assembly here? I didn't see any clearance checks, no gap checks, no adjustments nothing, did you do this stuff off camera? What's your username on 3si
