You reported they had a Big HIT called Let's Hang.......Was it On or Out.??? Because you clearly said it was Let's Hang OUT & in fact you were even called out on it. You never even bothered to comment with a retraction that you reported it wrong. In fact you NEVER take responsibility for ANY of this channels mistakes that YOU are reading. Wrong again Tim. 1. Gunsmoke actually ran two tv series. The first series ran from 1955 to 1961 it ran half hour episodes. Then from 1962 to 1975, it ran hour long series. 2. Milburn Stone did not appear in all episodes. In 1967, Stone suffered a mild stroke and missed seven episodes. Fire your researchers Tim!
Gunsmoke was cancelled 48 years ago not 60. Also Doc Adams wasn’t on every episode. Adams missed three months of filming due to a heart attack in 1971. Only Matt was in every episode.
James Arness did walk with a kind of lilt throughout the series. The original Star Trek also had connections with another western, Wagon Train. Gene Roddenberry pitched the sci-fi series to the networks as "Wagon Train to the Stars."
Actually Gunsmoke didn’t finish in 75’..From memory at least five extended T.V. Episodes. The last, I think around 1994. Bye that time most of the original cast had passed on and it was a very old, complete with toupee, Marshall Dillon. A great series and, like Rawhide, created by Charle Marquis Warren.. Gunsmoke was one of the best westerns about I am I only caught it about 68 through 75. I was just a little guy but my daddy watched it every week. It was really good and all the characters they were on their really good it would not have been the same without all those folks.
One of the standout episodes is from 1964 (9th season) " Comanches is Soft" Ken Curtis and Burt Reynolds are extremely funny in this, and Ken Curtis gets to show off his singing talents too. You can't sit through this without laughing hard, even if you've seen it before. James Nusser and Kathy Nolan ( Kate from The Real McCoys) are great in this too.
This was such a "parents wanted to watch it so everyone had to" show! Haha! About the only two regular characters that were on it still alive are Buck Taylor and Roger Ewing! I still remember the preview of the next season that never was and in it someone shoots a gun that had a silencer on it!
I remember an episode called Matts Love Story. It aired in 1973 and made the cover of TV guide. It was a big deal back then because James Arness never kissed a woman on screen before until this episode..he was very conservative. The actress he did the scene with was Michael Learned who later became the mother in The Waltons. I was 13 at time.

About year ago I watched Gunsmoke for the first time and got so hooked on it that I ended up watching every single episode. IMO, the best Western TV show. It only had few main characters, yet never got tedious. My absolute favourite became Festus Haggen 🤠🤠
Maybe the best TV show of all time. Great actors were guest stars when they were young ...before hitting it bigger. Overall, the acting and story lines are top notch. Ken Curtis was an amazing and versatile talent....great comedian and singer too. No better town drunk ever appeared on any size screen than James Nusser...in the part of Louie Pheeters. Burt Reynolds was great....Amanda Blake, Arness etc etc etc.....right through to Sam the bartender.Fetters
@@FactsVerse There's 2 .... " The Gallows" ....I think that's what it's called....when Dillon has to escort a likeable, innocent man found guilty to be hung in Hayes City. The other is " Kitty Cornered" where Jacqueline Scott plays the role of Stella Damon who is determined top open up a bar / casino / bawdy house across the street from The Long Branch to put Kitty out of business. Jacqueline Scott is amazing , and it's a very different type of role for her. Ken Curtis is really funny in this one too, as usual.

This show is my dad’s favorite along with bonanza great tv show with a lot of old school memories.
They don’t make them like they use to.
