  • The term "front post" was coined by the great golf instructor, Mike Adams. It describes a golfer who is lead leg dominant. This tutorial will show you the key aspects of the front post leg action and how to implement that in your swing if you are indeed this type.

What about side cover center post golfers?

As a front poster, is it correct to say that their ball flights will naturally be higher? Consequently, should they avoid attempting to hit lower shots with this type of swing (excluding punch shots and stingers)?

Launch angles and spin rates are affected somewhat by the lower body action, but not as much as they are affected by the type of grip ( cover -side on - under)
All things being equal, a cover golfer will have lower launch / higher spin and an under golfer the inverse.

Would this “feeling”be more of a squat at the top and jump/stand at or before impact?

Yes, but mostly focused around the lead leg. There are center posters who also utilize a lot of vertical force, but they squat and launch with both legs.
