You briefly mentioned that if someone becomes sedentary, that will change their gut microbiome. Could you briefly explain how and why, and/or point to some resources to learn more about how a sedentary lifestyle affects the gut microbiome? Thank you so much.
Dr. K, your content is extremely appreciated. I wish I could do a video consult with you. Also, what about people with SIBO? Can it cause extreme issues with eating? At this point the foods I can eat without issues are pretty limited. It has caused a lot of weight loss. I am GF DF and soy free.
A nickel allergy can keep you from healing your gut. I have known for decades that I'm allergic to nickel in jewelry and jean buttons, but I never knew that it's also in my food! I'm only a week into my low nickel diet and feeling much better already!
I just got diagnosed with UC with zero gut issues prior to sudden bleeding and urgency issues. I've had Hashimoto's for ten years but again, zero gut issues for all that time. Cannot find a doc to help, Gastro doc says I will be on RX forever which I know will destroy my gut.
Sounds like you need zinc-carnosine and or lots of zinc. Your body cannot form a proper internal mucus membrane when you're deficient in zinc. If you're taking over 50mg zinc daily, then you're gonna need to supplement with copper as well so your copper zinc ratio doesn't get screwed up. Also, I would up your vitamin d3 intake (get levels tested 1st if you wanna be safe) and increase vit. B1, B2, B3, B5, B6(in P5P form), and B12 (don't be afraid of cyanocobalamin - lots of people including myself have good results with it). Also, you may need to do an elimination diet for a while until you can get the inflammation under control and then start adding foods back in slowly. Disclaimer: this is not medical advice. I highly recommend you find a holistic doctor but if all you can find is a regular mainstream doctor, use them to your advantage- have them run tests and/or get referrals to specialists. This way you can track your blood markers, inflammatory markers etc., and potentially make more informed decisions and make targeted decisions on what exactly you should eat and supplement with.
Dr K, I LOVE your information, but you need to enunciate your words more clearly! Some words are hard to understand because you are mumbling. It helped a little to slow the playback a bit, but the video is already so long.

Will transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulators, such as the gammaCore Sapphire, help the vagus nerve regenerate?
I have no stomach acid anymore

When you say diary free does that also mean home made yogurt with l. reuteri?
I think so, search for l.reuteri oat based yogurt recipes. It does grow well on oats
