Okay, so anyone having issues with the wav file, make sure EOF created XML files. If it isn't, check create separate rocksmith files under preferences.

Man, thank you for this video. I'm definitely going to have to try it out. It's strange, but the process actually seems kind of fun in itself.
I'm glad Rocksmith has such a dedicated fanbase. You can find not only popular songs in the CDLC, but hidden and obscure gems that you thought only you knew and loved, so that's a really cool thing to see other people put the work in to make those available to the community.
Why couldn't we just make a cdlc with a MIDI or XML and the MP3 of each seperate track. Would be a lot easier.

Hey! Awesome video!! One question though - Can I use the toolkit to generate dynamic difficulty for myself if I download custom DLC that doesn't use DD? It is certainly a little patronizing at times but for those of us who are newbies it is really helpful and I'd love to add it in if possible.
You'd think so. Only thing is the toolkit doesn't import CDLC, so you'd have to remake it from scratch and then add the DD in at the end. And I agree, it is incredibly patronising.

Thanks for the tutorial, I've found that on the latest rstoolkit version you can skip the Wwise step (I think it still needs to be installed though for it to work)

.ogg doesn't have any licensing fee's associated with it's use. That's why lots of companies use them. mp3 and wav file for examples do. Thanks for the video thought it would be fun to put some of my bands tabs and music in the game.
Hello, I follow this tutorial step by step, and almost everything works like in the video. The only difference is that I didn't create the lyrics because the song I'd like to custom is instrumental. Maybe due to this, when i try to create the CDLC with rocksmith toolkit the following error pop up: "ReadMe... The song information has been changed... Do you want to update "Arrangement Identification"? Answering 'Yes' will reduce the risk of in-game hanging and the song stats will be reset to zero." If I press "Yes" or "No" the result is the same: rocksmith recognise the song, its cover, its preview and its structure, but rocksmith doesn't play it. I feel like I'm a step from manage to do this, but i miss that step, and online there aren't much information about this. So I hope that you read this comment and manage to fix my problem, it would be amazing. Otherwise, it's a pity because I spent an entire day trying to create my personal CDLC XD
btw the thing with OGG instead of mp3 is because to use mp3 you need a paid license, OGG is free and open source
so if I get only the toolkit I can just download the finish project you made? + like and subscribed because huge green day taste :)

my question i have a cdlc that i d like to change a few notes on EOF how i do that?
also in that particular cdlc, there are some specific notes on the solo that are never picked by the game....any idea why? it happened also with another cdlc (thunderstruck acdc) i missed most of the notes on the beginning then i downloaded another version of that cdlc that its transcribbed exactly the same and it worked flawlessly all my notes are detected

thanks for doing this video . very informative . I am getting up in years and don't want to invest time into mastery of the creation process . working on becoming the best guitarist I can be is , is my priority in the latter part of my life on Earth.
regardless. many charters do good work on syncing up the music with the tabs . it is the tones that are their weak area . also , those who chart songs I love , Scorpions for example or Buckethead .. they make one or several sections for the entire song . jeez . sometimes many sections are needed for complex music in Riff Repeater .
are there relatively easy ways to create tone switches for solo, verse , chorus etc ? I get the change tone part in the toolkit .. EOF must also be involved ?
lastly, how to created enough section markers in a song to take advantage of Riff repeater ?

I just got the Rocksmith and don't like most of the songs, so I found out the dlcs and your tutorial. Look, the mp3 u used, is the original one? if so, the software automatically removes the lead guitar for example.? do you do custom songs on request? $?

Are you asking me if it does what Guitar Hero does? Where it plays songs without the Lead Guitar and has that as a separate track that you play? If so, no, Rocksmith only plays the actual mp3. I guess if a version of the song without the guitar is out there then you could do it, but that'd be very difficult for a custom song maker to sync, as there'd be no guitar to sync to.

You need the older version of Wwise, you can download it from the website.

When i import song into Wwise, i can't find any .WAV file!! tried e re-tried many times, just no .wav file is created anywhere!

you mentioned that you did part of this on your mac... Could you also put the links for the programs used on the mac to create the custom songs. I would greatly appreciate it. Unless, the ones you posted already have mac versions... then nevermind in that case.
I Had trouble finding the .gp file to import into EOF using GP7. So I exported as GP5. Looks like that worked.
You're a legend mate, helped me heaps. However I have run into a little problem now and hoping you MIGHT just know how to fix this..
I'm up making my 9th song and for some reason nothing exports anymore. The WAV files doesn't get created, and when I hit save nothing actually saves.
In the EOF (Editor on Fire) Preferences SAVE SEPERATE ROCKSMITH FILES needs to be checked otherwise it will not create your WAV and XML files.

how do you select a group of notes, or something that moves everything ahead of you but nothing behind you?
Any update on the rhythm guitar issue?
Also, I would like to update some of the information given here: You just need to update and install the latest 2014 version of Audiokinetic with the default settings, not the full thing - it's far less than "a couple of gigs". Also, no need to do the stuff manually in WWise anymore: RS Toolkit takes care of things and can work with the wave file from Editor On Fire.
Anyway, thanks for the guide! Created my first two DLCs yesterday, but when you think mapping lyrics is a pain in the ass, so is mapping the beats when they're not evenly spaced :(

For some reason when I make the song, the preview for the song is always either static, or nothing at all. When I go to play it, the notes come up and I can't hear anything at all, and after that it causes all my other songs to have no sound. Can you help me out?
It's either silent every time, or it just won't play at all. Plus, when I pause the game while playing it, it makes a super loud screaming noise

Alright so I figured it out. Do not update your toolkit at all, just use the 2.6.0.0 version, but with wwise, download the 2013 version instead of the 2016 version and there you go!

great video, thank you. one question, how do i edit the volume of the guitar tone or music track? Like on some dlc's i have the guitar tone is too quiet for the music track and i cant hear the guitar properly. Any help wold be appreciated. Thanks.
+FilmsRapidFire I've got that problem that you mentioned at the end of the video. When I enter the DLC I made the game let's me tune, but then it just stops. I can hear my guitar, and the amps do their animation, but the note highway doesn't show up. Have you figured out what this problem is?

+Ageallean1 i had that problem with mine and the reason why that happend to me was because i didn't create tones for the song i done if you go back into the RS toolkit and make sure each arrangment has a proper tone instead of the Default tone this worked for me anyway hope it works for you :)

I'm not getting a wav in wwise, its just a midi and it wont work. PLEASE HELP I'M SO CLOSE. I did not do base or vocals if that is the problem but I wouldn't think it would be.
+Cucking Dead (CuckingDed) go back at you eof press F11 and select "save rocksmith separet 2 files". then save again your project and shaaaazannnnn now u will have the wav file

Hey, great tutorial! Only problem I have is that when I try to play my cdlc the sound of my guitar becomes so low that it's almost unhearable. (And it stays low after that even at other songs till I restart the game) Do you know how I can fix this?

Hey man, I have a little problem. The song goes in the right tempo for a while, but some sections are placed too early in the tab, and the whole song "slips away". Can you know a method to fix that without select and move every note?
I own Guitar Pro 6 will it work the same? Can't see why it would not but thought I better ask before I spend all this time on a song.. Is there a place that someone like U has them already made so we can just import them to Rocksmith? Cool Video Thanks!!
I'd imagine GP6 works just the same, but I can't confirm that. If you just wanna download CDLC made by other people head to CustomsForge. They have a whole library of CDLC for free!
No GP6 uses a different file format.
You MUST use GP5
U can use GP6 and use File->Export->Guitar Pro 5

Pearl Jam - Garden has two tones, clean and distortion.
I’m stuck at 33:11. It’s asking for a key, my directories in configuration are a mess. Wwise did it’s job helping with making the files but I don’t see why it is needed to make the song creator work. I downloaded the smashing pumpkins song but idk how to get the product key. The old version of the song creator on Mac only allows me to pick pathways to my desktop and my PC doesn’t have a spot that works for the wwise pathway. Ugh
Is there a way to edit already existing CDLC files? Sometimes the RiffRepeater sections are shit and I want to edit them to make them better. It's so annoying when there is a good lick in the solo but there is a slow part right before or after it and the creator of the CDLC decided to keep the slow part with the lick so anytime I want to practice this lick I have to bear this slow part which is really annoying.
hey mate, i have been trying to get 1 of the songs i like to dlc but it is taking the piss, it wont sync with song even after following your step by step guide but still doesnt seem to work, any tips or maby i could send song to you and see how you get on, really doing my box in lol
Does guitarpro 7 work? And I'm not looking for custom tracks for songs that already exist, I want custom tracks for my own tabs I write. How do I write my own tabs? Or for example how to convert MIDI to guitar pro, or straight to EOF if that's easier?
Followed every step carefully and all seems to go perfectly fine. Load up Rocksmith and the track doesn't appear. Not sure if this is because the final step for me is to convert to Mac? I do get the occasional CDLC made by others that doesn't appear after converting as well as some that sometimes show up and sometimes don't.
Any ideas?
Reason why the musical programs use .ogg files is because .ogg is comparable to .mp3 without having to pay for the .mp3 license.

Well I have problem, when i choose cdlc music are starting but the chords/frets are later and its not synchronic, what to do ?
I´m having such a hard time syncing the songs with the tabs on EOF... the beats per minute are adjusted but quickly they start appearing faster than on the actual song. I don´t know how to fix this, I would appreciate some help, thank you.

ok i have a question : i have watched this video multiple times and followed the steps to the letter and even get my songs to appear and play in game however one major problem accuse.. i have absolutely no audio (no guitar feedback or music when playing these songs) and when looking back it says Wwise fails to convert... i've even tryed multiple versions of Wwise but same thing.. does anyone know what i might be doing wrong or maybe lead me in the right direction?

FilmsRapidFire Hey, if you could answer a question for me, I would be forever in your debt. Keep in mind, I'm doing this on a mac. So I got to Wwise, but instead of finding a .wem file, I have an .akd file instead, and when I go to the rstoolkit, I have no part real guitar.xml file. I only have the ogg, wav and akd files. Is there a manual way to export the part real guitar, part real bass, and part real guitar 22? I'm so damn close and I've been working on this all night.

How do you remove a large open ending part of a song in EoF? Or can you not and you have to use another program before hand?

I've managed to create a C-DLC wich I put in the game. It shows up in the "Learn a song" database, but as soon as I select it, all audio dies out. It goes completely silent. But I can still tune the guitar. That's problem number 1, here's problem number 2. When I'm finished tuning the guitar and the song is supposed to start, it just stands still for 3-4 seconds and then the song is finished. I don't get to play anything. Somebody knows what's wrong?

One of the only ways to do that is to make a whole new tab on Guitar Pro yourself

I actually just figured it out... Go to Editor on Fire. Go to Preferences. Check the box that says "Save separate Rocksmith two files".
Then it should have another file available for Rocksmith ToolkitGUI.
so i've got tabs from songsterr, a CDLC i got from customs forge for rammstein du hast does not match up with the real song, could it be the CDLC is wrong or the game is changing it?

I have a lot of CDLC which does not include any difficulty levels (they are at 100% from the start). Is there a way to take the .psarc file and just add that option to them without getting into a lot of other bullshit?
hello i have some problems i have downloaded some songs and i threw them in my dlc folder and when i try to play them it doesn't Work when i go back in my dlc folder the "logo/the program i open them with" are WinRAR and when i try to open them ther stand Error"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith2014\dlc\ACDC_Thunderstruck_v1_p.psarc The archive is either in unknown format or damaged plz help
