- Watch me take this vintage wood dresser and do a “paint dipped” look. I strip and sand the top part of the piece down to bare wood and then paint the bottom part, making it look like the dresser was literally dipped in paint.

* Don't forget to count your time on the piece (your hourly rate). Too often flippers dont track their time, but necessary if you are claiming a business. Your time is an expense as well 😊

Good job with this design. You might try scraping off the finish. Inexpensive and no smell or goopy leftovers. Watch Transcend Furniture or Dashner Design for examples. They are experts in the technique.

Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.
Thank you for sharing and it is a beautiful piece! However I feel the cost and profit calculation is off. For someone new, they won’t have the following on hand and will need to spend money to buy: stripper, Bondo wood filler, surfprep sanding tool, mineral spirits, Howard’s wax, paint sprayer. I think for a professional who already has all the professional tools on hand, then it’s a good profit. Otherwise, it’s an investment to buy all those tools. And the money to buy all those tools needs to come from somewhere

It is such a beautiful piece of furniture with a pristine finish. It is elegant. I really like the paint dipped look. I have a dresser to do next but it has a cabinet at one end so I don’t think it will work, but seeing you cross the line (pun intended) by splitting the top drawer with paint is making me think about it.
The simple thing would have been to do the paint from just the bottom two drawers in down. Really like how u went up a little higher for a more interesting & custom look 👍🏽

Funny I just did this today and yesterday except opposite. My paint was on the top and wood on bottom.
I do not like the dripped look. If the bottom color had been done all over would have been my style.

I was sceptical about the "dip" in paint effect, but it turned out gorgeous! When you put your furnitures on Facebook Market how do you describe them? used and refinished or new? I've never seen such furniture flips on FBM where I live.

Loved your work and the finished piece. What was the cost of delivering it to the buyer? Doesn't that significantly cut into your profit?
Thank you! I delivered it myself, and fortunately the buyer lived in my neighborhood (literally less than a 5 minute drive 😊). But, if I do deliver a piece I will charge an additional fee to offset gas and my time.
hi this piece turned out really cool. may I ask what part of the country do you live in? $500+ is a huge return on your work! im in upper midwest and really do not know how to price my pieces. im not turning pieces over that quickly so I couldn't price based on that. I have to marinate on the next step sometimes if im going more glam etc.. thanks and I loved the video. patty k.

It looks good. It looks really, really good. I like your hardware choice. Classy. I think the paint line is positioned well. Most people would cut the dresser in half with the two finish choices. I like that you raised it. That way it really looks dipped.

I noticed you take your tape off when your paint is dry? Do you find it works better than taking it off with wet paint? It's gorgeous 😍
Both work equally well when I use frog tape.

Thank you. I sell my pieces on FB marketplace. I am in Toronto so its a high population. I also offer delivery (for a fee) which I think makes a difference. I deliver about 75% of my pieces. Be patient and keep going…it will happen!

I cannot get on with soray guns just seems to leave splatters no matter what settings x
There’s definitely a learning curve with them. And the paint you use also makes a difference. I find I get more splatter when I thin it out too much.
Love the idea of the paint wash! Might just save a piece I got involved with, witch has been a thorn in my side, color-wise, since I started it’s really-do. Thanks!
