Kasha you inspire me. When i was in college i was really broke. I was working 40hour/week + full time school. I was waitressing and couldnt make ends meet. To pay rent, I used to dumpster dive and refurbish furniture and sell on craigslist. I used to love it. Fast forward 20 years; working a corporate job, making 6 figures and miserable! I have been wanting to leave corporate and go back to dumpster diving (lol ) well maybe not dumpster diving more like thrift shops and garage sales) anyhow do want to leave office job and go back to refurbishing furniture.
I love your channel. Hope everyone on this thread has a blessed year.
I like how you show your process and mistakes. Looks beautiful
Hi Kacha. I really love how you applied the raise stencil and then painted over it. I think it turned out gorgeous, and I love the look. You are so talented and creative, that when something isn’t to your satisfaction, you will turn around and create something even more beautiful. “Well done Kacha.”👍🤗🥰
Blue is just so precious! He obviously loves you very much!!Dogs are just the best fur kids!
He’s a good boy!
"We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents." -Bob Ross 🎨
🌟 Your piece is a lovely example of a happy little accident. I love the technique you showed us, can’t wait to try it out. 🌟
I love that quote!
It's like you've found yourself again and that comes out from the look of this piece: cosy and happy ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for sharing with us.
Omg! I have this exact dresser! My parents bought it for me from a department store in Washington DC back in the late 80s. I had mine refinished and replaced the hardware. It looks great, and has held up beautifully for over 30 years.
Turned out beautifully.
For "too red" wood you can try a wash of greenish paint first, such as Versailles or olive. (being the opposite on the color wheel,, the green will cancel out the red.)
That's a fantastic tip! Thanks for sharing.
Those with a design education would know that.
Would it work for wood painted red?
@@creativegirl9710 Rosehaven Farm's useful tip is directed to those of us who don't have a design education. But thank you for stating the obvious.
OUTSTANDING, it came out so good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wow! That stencil is really amazing! I am repainting my furniture and getting such great ideas from you! Thank you for teaching me and making me grow as an artist!
The entire project was amazing, Kacha!!! Including the hardware which had your signature touch, “GOLD”. Much loves! 😘❤️
I love it… I noticed I have a chest that matches that dresser. The same side details and legs. I just refinished it but now I must redo 😂 using that raised stencil. That is so elegant. Beautiful.
Wow! I LOVE it! Thank you for sharing your techniques and comments.
This is a G O R G E O U S piece, Kacha!😍 Thank you for bringing us along with the challenge you ran into too. I’ve learned sooo much from you over the past few years.
You’re the very first furniture artist I found on UA-cam and inspired me to paint my very first piece, my dining room buffet (AS Louis Blue, Waverley Elephant, AS Clear and Dark Wax and sliver gilding wax for the hardware) back in 2017. I’d never painted anything (besides walls), not even just something small in a solid color. Since then, I’ve painted a LOT of different pieces, brands, techniques, etc, since then. And not just for my home and family, but turning into a small business too.
So showing us when something doesn’t go as planned is enormously helpful, at least for me😊. Finally got a Surf Prep Sanding System for my birthday too (it’s awesome).
Thx for all you do and sorry for the long comment.💜
That is wonderful! I hope you business continues to grow and flourish and I am here to cheer you on and any help you may need along the way!
I love that your dog is always keeping you company 🥰
I love how interested Blue is in everything you do. He just looks so fascinated 😂 such a lovely nature. Also lucky you being able to work with Annie Sloan colours all the time now. You really can't beat her colours I love them all but they are so expensive here in NZ. Much more affordable when I was in the UK.
I’m impressed you don’t even have a drop cloth under the dresser. Well done!
Your golden touch turned it from a traditional dresser to a beautiful modern dresser! I really like your style and how cool and collected you work around your dogs. They definitely love to be around you. 🌻😎🌟💛
Sometimes our 'mistakes' are actually the most perfect guide to realise what we want.... I loved this piece, well done! U inspire me so much, my husband even bought me a sander for xmas 🤗
OOh thats so nice! Merry Xmas to you!
Awww sweet hubby. You got this. Post pics.
Happy accidents ❤️
I love your fearless attitude and boldness to try new and different looks. I begin watching each episode knowing you are going to do something amazing so I don’t know why I’m so surprised 😮 by the results. Pleasantly surprised!!!
This is so pretty 💖 I love how you showed the whole process of figuring out what worked best on the top. It turned out Beautifully 💖💞💝
I thought it looked beautiful, and I thought Kacha is such a perfectionist! But, you were right. The cocoa and wax on top was just perfect.
This is one of my favorite pieces of yours. It looks like Egyptian stone. I love it so much!!! ✌🏻❤️
I can hardly believe the transformation in that dresser! You have outdone yourself Kacha..amazing!
I put blue tape along the edges of the drawers where you do not want the stencil gel to touch. Then I remove the blue tape and have a clean edge. Otherwise it gets smudgy and messy and much more difficult to tidy up. This is one of my favorites of yours. I love the stencil, coco color, white wash, and coco wash. Very lovely piece.
Beautiful! The knobs are perfect!
Just love how it turned out. You give me inspiration to update my mom’s 65 year old cedar chest on legs!
Beautiful! I appreciate your frankness and showing how to turned something you didn't like after you did it (the dresser top) into something you love. thanks!
That top would look gorgeous in matte black too. 🖤
That turned out just beautiful! I love how you included your mistake, and how you recovered! Turned out gorgeous.
You know, I'm not normally drawn to modern style, but I really like this! The combination of colors, stencils, techniques, etc. just made it a great piece. Certainly in a whole different universe than the original version! I'm continually impressed. 👏
Really love the makeover and the knobs fit the style so perfectly 👏🏻👏🏻
Wow! I would have never guessed this could change that dresser so much! I love it! Beautiful.
What a bold transformation...and yet subtle. like this end result very much.
I love the way this piece turned out. I agree that I would have chosen different pulls. Beautiful!
I love how you pup watches everything your doing like he’s checking it all out he’s adorable 🐾🐾🐾❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi 👋 Suzie, how are you doing?
I always adore whatever you make. Thank you for staying true and showing your work. Love seeing your puppies again 🖖🏽🌈💕
You make everything beautiful, so different, so surprising. I love to hear your thought process. Makes the videos interesting and engaging. Thank you so very much!
I love your assistant!
It’s beautiful Kasha. I think you are excelling in your artistry.
I truly believe that there is nothing you cannot do! You are an artist, first and foremost, and your work is always ingenious and often breathtaking. Always something new, you continue to learn and grow. It is an honor to witness the process and to humbly try to follow in your shoes as we try to emulate just a tiny part. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work with us.
Very beautiful... I really like the design.. Can even go with a south western look too.
Love it. Especially the hardware. You truly gave this old piece new life. Great job as usual Kacha.
Always enjoy watching an artist creating. And your creations are superb!
I like it the stencil made it look a little Asian style 👍👍👍
I really like your inspector. He is checking your prep work.
Hi 👋 Sue, how are you doing?
Wow. Beautiful piece of furniture. The stencil completely changed the design of the original version.
Love, love, love the piece. The hardware? Meh. I think the white gold stripe doesn't match the piece, but a bronze or dull silver would work. The piece, and what you've done, is fabulous.♥️
Agree with Linda regarding how fabulous the dresser is and the white gold hardware doesn’t match. So appreciate your showing your Subscribers how you work through problems. This was a great tutorial on the resolution options. Thanks so very much. I always learned when watching your videos.
Love the raised stenciling on this piece and the hardware is a perfect choice!!! I love it!!
It turned out gorgeous love it and by the way your pitbull is beautiful I have a blue nose pitbull is the sweater dog that I ever had like your dog that looks adorable 💙 thank you for sharing and God bless you
Hi 👋 Ana, how are you doing?
This may just be the look I've been looking for my master bedroom suite.
Thats completly different from anything youve ever done before, and its just stunning, its now contemporary, its gorgeous
Beautiful,,,,I love this piece,,that raised stencil really did change the whole style of it,,,,that is a look I really like,,,,
I think this piece look’s very interesting.well done
Always wonderful to see your exquisite work Kacha and thanks for the videos Carlos and kisses for darling Blue xx
Hi 👋 Gail, how are you doing?
love this dresser! It is absolutely gorgeous. I have an old dresser that I have wanted to paint and this video has inspired me to try something similar with that piece.
Wow this is beautiful!! I love it. Thank you for this video, you explain very well and your videos really show up close and different angles, easy to understand
LOVE the 3D stencil! Didn’t love the pulls but that’s just me and to be honest I can’t really think of what I would use so 🤷🏼♀️.
Brushed nickel, something linear.
That whitewash on the front turned out incredible. Looks like old stone to me somewhat! Great job!!
I think it is so cool that you took a traditional piece and gave it an MCM twist. Very innovative.
Beautiful transformation! Love your dog!
It turned out quite lovely. Proof that when we don’t necessarily care for a direction, be brave and stick with it to see what you can make of it!
💗What a lovely piece. Great job! I really like it.💗 I am glad you re-did the top.
I adore how this turned out!❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful! The raised stencil added a much needed update!👏👏
Hi 👋 Jeanne, how are you doing ?
One of my favorites from you! But PLEASE explain how you never get paint drips on your clothes and floor! It boggles my mind that you don't use a dropcloth and your clothes are perfection.
I think it's a couple things.
1. She takes her time.
2. She doesn't get very much paint on her brush at all.
Hope that helps ☺️
I’ve wondered that too.
Everyone makes mistakes and we learn from them, this is still looks good to me
Its literally the most beautiful dresser I have ever seen! You are beyond amazing and a true artist in your craft. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques with us as well as your learning process that is clearly making you better and better with every project. Your awesome!
I love the fact that you shared your mistake with us. This piece is a real statement to your talent Kacha! It makes me want to try the raised stencil! Love it!
Amazing! Your repertoire is so diverse!
Beautifully restored! Your new set up is fantastic! So professional, as always!
Wow from dull and blah. Oh did I mention ugly. To stunning. Your amazing girl😉
I’m always awed by your creative process. I couldn’t really see the red tones until you pointed it out, then it became obvious. I love the result and especially the touch the pulls added. Plus extra Blue screen time is a plus!
I always use a damp cloth to wipe it off. It works so much better???
But it turned out Beautiful!!!❤
it has an oriental vibe so far
Turned out great. Red wood is difficult, But sometimes putting a green wash on the wood before you do anything else will neutralize the red. Something we used to do in the old days. great job!
Lovely Dresser! I really like this one! That color wash you stumbled on was perfect! Looks amazing
Watched this one again! Cause my Sister has a full bedroom set in Queen Anne she wants me to makeover. I’m looking for ideas , Love this look! Your background music choice is my favorite, fun & relaxing!!
kacha, it looks beautiful as always. I love the knobs, it works perfectly with the raised stencil.
I really love this piece also. You really transformed a very traditional chest of drawers into a beautiful modern piece
As always 🙏
Great job and good save. For anyone who thinks they might prefer the white-washed top, I bet you could still have applied a white wash again once you had done the cocoa wash to get rid of the red tone. Strictly a matter of preference.
Love it. I love when you just go for it and it turns out so good
very nice job! The top turned out sharp.
I love that you shared the entire process! I am a beginner and rarely do not change my plan midstream to get the look I have in mind. Thank you♥️
You put so much heart and soul into your art....Beautiful..
I personally prefer the original look of the dresser better for my own home, but I'm really in awe of what a fantastic job you did making this piece your own. It's very unique and absolutely beautiful!!
Been watching your videos and you never disappoint, amazing. While your working I often think, "I don't know if I like that". When you finish I'm blown away. Love watching.
I like the stencil a lot. It really added a lot of flair to the drawer fronts!
I love this technique, color scheme, and overall design. Wow it looks so good! It has a Restoration Hardware look 🙌🏻 I want to try this one day for sure.
I love what you did with the top of the dresser! Looking at the finished work no other color would look as good. Perfect!
The raised stencil is beautiful. Gorgeous. 🥰
so creative and inspiring, thanks for sharing 😎
I love how this one turned out 🤩!
Beautiful work! Can you do a video on how to apply matte silver paint and then use the guilding wax
Hi 👋 Isabel, how are you doing?
It turned out amazing...love it
Oh my goodness! This looks so good! It looks like an entirely new piece!
This texture/color combo is insane! I absolutely love it. Thank you for inspiration and helpful tips. Seriously professional. I can’t wait to try, TY!
Very creative. Love this piece. Well done, it is stunning.
What a beautiful transformation. Well done, I love the raised stencil 🥂🌹👍
Wow, that looks fantastic. Well done. I love the stencil you used.
Your work is some of the most amazing I've ever seen!
I have the same one! It was my parents and is in perfect condition with a smaller matching one, a mirror , nightstand and bed
