In today's video we dive deep in life in Karakalpakstan, an autonomous region in the north west of Uzbekistan. These people have their own language, culture, history and traditions, and are often skipped over on many foreigners visits to Uzbekistan.
First we head to Madzhalhan, an ancient Necropolis that was once home to a Zoroastrian fire temple.
Next, we head into the desert of southern Karakalpakstan for food in a yurt and to walk around in the remains of a 1000 year old foretress.
Lastly we head up north to Moynaq and visit the sad remains of a city where the Aral Sea used to be, before Soviet mismanagement drained it.
It's an enchanting place and one that I hope you enjoy seeing with me! Come along!.

Karakalpak is the descendants of Pecheneks, a Turkic speaking nomadic people lived 1500 years ago,

salaam alykum wa rahmatullah brother, great channel vid n contents thank you and stay blessed. btw the sitting on floor and eating on ground level sat at floor level with our hands is a very muslim cultural tradition and act of humility. sharing food and eating together with the right hand sat on floor being thankful to our Creator enjoying the blessings with others humble and thankful to our Lord giving us the means and tools, gift of life, being able to live life working with the hands to put food prepared by hands that we have been given pure and bountiful came from the earth we sit and to Him that gave us life is our final return back to the earth we sit on 1day we will all have to return to our Creator and Master so lets walk on the earth like travellers with kindness humility and good hearts until He(Allah-God) yours n mine,our Lord calls us again we go back to the darkness of the ground 6feet under till the resurrection life after to give account of the steps our feet had taken nd the actions which hands we laboured with in this world the gift of life and through Allahs Love and Mercy our final ever eternal abode in Heaven InshaAllah,. our Creator Allah yours n mine brother is the Most Loving Kind Merciful and Gracious 1 and Only Master ofthe Universe. ps sorry for going on a long 1, but i guesss in some senses thats whats 1 of the wisdoms if only we ponder and take some time to think?, just thinking pondering wisdom behind sat on floor sharing eating with hands on floor wholesome good clean healthy foods nutritious for body and spiritual nurishment for the soul i guess. food for thought my brother., Allah keep u safe and blessed and guide u on your journey Ameen,. apologies for making it long,. pls forgive. peace n blessings 1love

As someone who was born in the Soviet Union, I can tell you that you have no idea - and I mean no idea - how poorly people lived in the Soviet Union. Nobody "lived well" there. Unless you were from the upper echelons of the government, you lived in a gray limited world, the day to day poverty of which would've shocked the hell out of you. It's truly scary is that you think this is propaganda.
I Consider myself an intense geography nerd (like i can name all the countries capitals) but wth? I have never heard of Karakalpakstan
