Travelling to and through Uzbekistan was my biggest and also best adventure so far! If you don‘t know if you wanna travel there: do it! It‘s so impressive!
Uzbekistan is very safe for a woman to travel alone. Very few people speak English but learning some basic Uzbek is enough (I don't want to learn Russian - it looks too difficult), but the Cyrillic letters are here and there, so it's also helpful to learn that alphabet. I am Chinese so I know this country very well. It's famous in our history books and also the people, culture, food, languages are very very similar to Uyghurs. Maybe the only difference is that they speak Russian and do not use Arabic letters. Anything else? The people are very friendly to tourists from any country. Once I visited a mosque and the guard asked where I was from. Then he said a lot of good things about China. Then I said I wanted to Namaz here. He told me where the washroom was. Then he also led me to the room. There are not many people doing Namaz in Uzbekistan. Maybe a little more than muslims here (I live in the far east side of China). The Namaz timetable is mostly the same pronunciation as in Chinese. Maybe they were both loan words from Persian. I also visited an Orthodox church and there was a great Mass. It gave me a very deep impression because I had never seen any Orthodox church. The smell was also impressive. The people (mostly Russians) were very devoted ...

I'm an older woman who travelled alone in Uzbekistan. I always felt very safe and found the Uzbek people delightful. It will help if you learn a few words of Uzbek before you go. All the major tourist sites have "tourist police" hubs staffed with people who speak English perfectly. All that said, you need to be cautious as you would anywhere. After a day of walking I usually collapsed into bed early and didn't go out much at night.

I don't know why,but everyone praises Bukhara more because it seems to be more authentic than Samarkand. In Samarkand they restored many historical buildings and it may seem to be a little fakey. But,stil.. I would recommend you Samarkand and it's iconic site Registan.
I am from Uzbekistan. Absolutely I highly recommend both of them lovely place to visit. I am actually from Bukhara. I was born and grow up in there. Now living in Tashkent. Do it. Never regret the decision.
Both of them are ancient places. Also Khiva. If you want to travel to Uzbekistan you willnt go to Bukhara, Samarkand. I can tell it will be big mistake.
If you need more information. I can help you as I can
@@abrorbobomurodov2361 thank you for the information. I'll be in Tashkent for 3 days for a conference. I'm so excited! I definitely will go to samarkand! Looking at getting to go to bukhara if i can.
Nice video. We're going this coming October. I don't see the link to the lodging in Bukhara. Thanks
I will be visiting Uzbekistan from Italy in august. Everything looks amazing from the people to the cities to the food, only thing im afraid of is the heat. Would it be considered culturally insensitive to wear bermuda shorts that fall slightly below the knee?
Nah, it’s totally fine 😊
I live in Uzbekistan btw.
Dear that is totally okay local are muslim but the country is secular so can do anything you want
I live in Uzbekistan
you summarize perfectly
Note that Americans over 55 don't need a visa. I am going to visit in February when it will be cold. Probably not idea, but surely wont be crowded with tourists.
@@kvom01 do you know if that is the same for Canadians?
even i didn't know that much information about my country 😅😅
You are wrong about Afghanistan it is the safest country in the region to travel . You will see amazing hospitality anywhere you travel in the country. Long live beautiful Afghanistan ❤
You are correct!
I'm told by a Uzbekistan friend of mine that as of now American's DO NOT need a visa anymore.
Any insight on this subject matter?

UZBEKISTAN LOVE AMERIKA 😊❤
❤
Thanks so much for this video! Did you meet any solo women travelling Uzbekistan and the other Stans? 😃
Mostly men honestly, but there are definitely some baller globe trotting woman out there too!
Здесь безопасно, можете путешествовать одна😊 никто не тронет вас
I'm an older woman who travelled alone in Uzbekistan. I always felt very safe and found the Uzbek people delightful. It will help if you learn a few words of Uzbek before you go. All the major tourist sites have "tourist police" hubs staffed with people who speak English perfectly. All that said, you need to be cautious as you would anywhere. After a day of walking I usually collapsed into bed early and didn't go out much at night.
Uzbekistan + Tajikistan + Afghanistan = Great Khorasan
I will hope come on my homeland Karakalpakstan
Xiva to Buchara 3h ride? Google maps shows 6h?!
