Overview
We don't know what Hyundai's design department had for breakfast when they formulated the new boldly boxy look of the next-generation Santa Fe, but we hope there's more of it on that buffet. The upcoming Santa Fe is as wildly different from the old model as granola is from scrambled eggs. The new one gains a third row, with more rear cargo space and legroom. The Santa Fe's recent enlargement is to attract outdoorsy folk, which is why the new SUV is built to accommodate rooftop tents, and why its wide tailgate allows larger adventure gear. The new Santa Fe is powered by a turbocharged 277-hp 2.5-liter inline-four with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. There's also a Santa Fe Hybrid, but we review that model separately. We'll update this space with pricing-and whether the Santa Fe's newness has wrought better driving dynamics-once we've driven one.
What's New for 2024?
If you can't already tell just by looking, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is a vastly different SUV. The dramatic transformation results from both an all-new interior and reimagined exterior design; the Santa Fe's wheelbase has been extended, its front overhang has decreased, and now that it has three rows of seating, there's far more room than before. The new Santa Fe goes on sale in early 2024.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Under the hood of every nonhybrid Hyundai Santa Fe is a turbocharged 277-hp 2.5-liter inline-four engine with 311 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic are standard, but all-wheel drive is available. That means the former Santa Fe's 191-hp base engine has been thrown out, giving Santa more oomph at the entry-level trim. We haven't driven the new Santa Fe yet to determine if its new size and familiar 277-hp powertrain are a good match, but we'd guess Hyundai hasn't disturbed the relaxed yet agile driving formula of the old model. Hyundai lists the weight of the larger three-row Santa Fe at roughly 4750 pounds, which is significantly more than the last-gen we had on our scales that weight 3858. We expect that to have a significant effect on its performance.
Towing and Payload Capacity
Hyundai hasn't revealed how much the new Santa Fe will be able to tow. We expect it to match or improve upon what the last-gen model was capable of, which was 3500 pounds of maximum towing capacity. We'll update this space when that information becomes available.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
The EPA hasn't estimated fuel economy ratings for the new Hyundai Santa Fe yet. Once we've tested one, we'll update this space with the results from our real-world 75-mph highway driving test. For more information about the Santa Fe's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
To keep with its exterior design theme of strong and boxy, the only thing round within the guts of the new Santa Fe is the steering wheel and a few knobs. The rest of the space is encapsulated by dramatic rectangles. On the off-roady Santa Fe XRT trim, there's an obvious influence of boxes and ruggedness from the Land Rover Defender's cockpit. The front row has numerous places to store things. There's even enough room for the available dual wireless smartphone charger, that juices-up two phones in the center console.

I just thought the logo Hyundai (H) from an existing Hyundai destroyed the total performance of this new Santa fee, could we change the "H" logo alphabet to become like the sign of light in front of this car .

Only if they're Brembo. But that would have been too pretentious since this is in no way a performance SUV.
First, I can't help but mention the big copy from Range Rover which nobody can deny. In any event, the black package (although not the most popular color) really puts this SUV in a class above its rivals. However, I would have chosen a bright color for the interior. They even did a good job on the wheel which is rare for me.
I just wish they would uodate the *H* like kia did. It looks cheap on this nice suv .love everything else except the rear end shouldve put the tail lights up about 4-6 inches. Makes it look like a mini van from back there.

I’m currently a Hyundai owner & drive a 2019 Tucson Ultimate. I Luv this NEW Santa Fe SUV inside & out except for the TAILLIGHT/TURN-SIGNAL DESIGN. I don’t know what it is but Hyundai CAN’T DESIGN A PROPER TAILLIGHT & TURN-SIGNAL. Both this vehicle & the NEW 2024 TUCSON HAVE THESE FUNKY TAILLIGHT DESIGNS MOUNTED TOO LOW ON THE BUMPER! This NEW Santa Fe has so many great design elements that the TAILLIGHT/TURN SIGNAL DEBACLE would not preclude me from buying this great SUV! 😉

Again a promotional film shot in the dark. Cockpit design is pretty good. It resembles a Rangrover from the front, but it looks a bit van-like from the back.

I’m loving the new Santa Fe. Hyundai just needs to update their H logo. It doesn’t really go with the letter font of Santa Fe that’s written on the back. Between this and their grandeur, their vehicles are much nicer now and the H needs to be propelled into a cooler nicer style.

Я плакал....Настолько подходит к тому, что я искал, но, как я понял, они убрали запасное колесо, что для меня делает эту покупку абсолютно неприемлимой. Если что то чуть серьёзнее маленького гвоздя, то дальше у тебя не меньше двух часов ожидания помощи. Прокол случается хоть и не часто, но всегда в самый неудобный момент.
В версии для США докатку оставили...
Внешний дизайн с моей точки зрения - дичь, особенно корма. Перед еще куда ни шло. В салоне очень красиво.

Надо ж было так изуродовать СантаФе. Очень страшный. Испорчена сама концепция СантаФе. Ладно бы Палисад таким сделали. Как поклонник и давний пользователь Санты именно это поколение не буду покупать. Сундук рубленный. У китайцев бы поучились дизайну. Для этого представления выбрали черный цвет, чтобы сгладить все угловатые детали, но и то видно, что эпоха нормальных СантаФе прошла. Уверен, что продажи упадут.

I wouldn't call it ugly, but I would have moved the tag up, extended the rear bumper, and positioned the lights in the middle or higher. Turn signals should never be positioned below the mid-point.
In addition, the name Santa Fe is way too big. But I get it, they wanted to fill in all that empty wall of space. My solution would have done that.
