1,000km TEST DRIVE in 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe - Noise, Drive & Comfort

- Test drove *1,000km (*621 miles) in 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe and I found out all about the Noise, Drive & Comfort. Going over those points sitting in the third row seat.
Although this vid is 30 minutes long, I sat in the 3rd row seat for over an hour making the video and I've got to say, it didn't bother me all that much, which wasn't because of how comfy the seats were, but rather mostly due to the massive head room.
Find out all about it in the video!
Comparison video of this 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe and Palisade coming up next :)
Stay tuned.

Love your shit man! Keep up the KDM love 😉👌
Thank you very much for your support, this means A LOT to me! Won't stop until I become the #1 source for KDM 🫡
I'm in the research field currently working my Ph.D., and as soon as you started your analysis while in that third row seat, I immediately saw a thorough and in-depth analyst. You are a top gun. Great car!
Haha thanks for the compliment :)
Thanks for pulling an all-nighter & giving us great content! That's true devotion to getting the BEST review!
Thanks. Love my job 🥰
Was 100% focused on picking up the 24' Sonta N-Line even when I saw the Santa Fe revealed a few months ago -- but after seeing your previous review on this Calligraphy Model, I can't think of a better vehicle coming out that checks everything I need in a car and the space this one has I cannot wait for it to hit North America.
Also, I really like how much you've improved as a youtuber, thanks for such an informative video.
Thank you very much for your kind comment. I'm humbled that my videos do affect my viewers and help with their decisions. This Santa Fe will SELL in North American market.
Great video! Thanks for all the info, you truly give good insight on the vehicle. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the comment, appreciate it :)
Man oh man, you give everything for your channel! All your hard work is appreciated by so many. Thank you.
Go to sleep. 😄
My pleasure! Love my job :)
Your videos are awesome. Thanks for the content!
Thanks for watching!
This is my favorite car. I hope it will be imported to Viet Nam soon
Fingers crossed! 🤞
Great Review as usual m8 !!!! How quiet is the cabin inside Santa Fe !!! tbh the more I look, the more I just love it so much especially after watching your review !! Keep up the good work
Thanks!
Hey man discovered your channel today and i absolutely love the content, the presentation everything definitely subscribed
I would LOVE to see a POV night drive/review of the new Santa Fe please
I do have a video on it, you're not the first one asking me, so I shall edit the vid then! Might take some time though, stay tuned :)
tks for the hard work. love your videos. keep it up men
Thanks, will do!
Hyundai has always gotten me obsessed with their cars since 2003 that I first knew about them. It was a sonata. At the time, car was lovely. Fast forward to 2011, I so wanted the accent. I visited the showroom daily😅.
Since the launch rumour of what the 2024 santa fe would look like, I have been obsessed! I was going to purchase the 2023 and have held back since then. Now I can't get an update on when this comes to the UK and pricing😂. Causing me sleepless night😅😅😅.
You have done the best review of the Santa fe.
Thanks for the compliment! This Santa Fe sure will be worth the wait :)
Finally a carmaker listens and uses the 360 cameras as a dash cam.
Very nice review. I love it.
Thank you! Cheers!
Another compressive video, nobody's doing THIS on THAT Sante Fe❗️ Keep up the great work and looking forward to Elantra N-line and N content. I hope you find an N-line in Exotic green, looks amazing😎
I finally have started on the Elantra N Facelift video 😇 Shooting, editing and uploading 3 videos per week isn't, well, easy 🤣
@@CarSceneKorea can't wait❗️
Waw! Amazing videos man, much appreciated. Please keep in mind that some regions like Europe don't have big models like the Palissade so we have a lot of interest on Sorento/Santa Fe as this would be the biggest models.
Thanks for the info! Santa Fe will be the ultimate SUV for many then!
Santa Fe, production year 2019, is undisputedly the best. Thank you

Thanks! 👍
Good review. Thank you. Do some night time reviews of the outside and inside also please! Would be nice to see the light effects.
Already returned the car 🥲 Hope I'd come up with one in the future.
Great test drive .....and you did it all without starting the engine
There are over 10 videos of Santa Fe on my channel including the engine start 😉 I don't blame you, many just watch one video :P
You’re English is great. Keep up the good reviews. Will you do a review of genesis gv70??
I do have a vid on GV70 made quite some time ago :) Thanks for the compliment!
@@CarSceneKorea ok thank you!! Can’t wait to see the GV80 coupe!
Nice review and thoughts about the new Santa Fe. But, never forget to take care of your health too. 😊
Thanks, appreciate it ;)
I have never been a big fan of Hyundai, but this Santa fe is awesome. Definitely would consider it for purchase.
Right on!
Dziękuję za wspaniałą prezentację, pozdrowienia z Polski.

Thanks for the visit :)
Thanks for the evaluation. That's how all vehicles should be evaluated.

Good job 👏
Thanks 😅
I have the previous generation in my family and I love it. It’s a US spark plug in hybrid
We’ve had it for 18 months
PHEV SUVs are the best of HMG!
@@CarSceneKorea yes I love HMV products they always tend to amaze me when they’ve come out with a new product. Have a new car. My immediate family has bought within the past 16 years has been another van a Hyundai
Thank you for a very informative video, I do miss having a spare tire, I have a 21 Santa Fe, I removed the rear insert on the floor and it holds a regular size spare with a 2 ton jack. and a 4 spoke tire iron, hopefully I can do this with the 24 model, since I plan to purchase one without the 3rd row seat, I just don't need the extra seats.
ps, can't wait till it comes to the USA
There is an empty space underneath where it is most likely intended to have HTRAC(AWD) system and hopefully a spare tire.
I hope so, I will check it out as soon as the cars come into showrooms, perhaps you can ask someone, since you have access to the car, if I'm not asking too much. Keep up the good work.@@CarSceneKorea
@@victorspadoni744 I did pick up the news that overseas market(applicable) will have spare tires underneath, including the US.
Hi, you are excellent, and we love the way you explain in detail. I just want to make sure if the dash camera has an internal memory or if there’s a memory slot to insert a memory card?
Memory card slot is there, a micro SD. Thanks for the comment.
Love the look and the specs on this car. Do you know what the msrp is for base model for the USA? Great video!
Not that I know of 🥲I don’t think there’s the price just yet.
Keep up the good work covering the new Santa Fe!
If you have the opportunity, can you please measure the distance between the rear wheel wells inside the cargo area? I’d like to know how wide that is.
Thanks man!
42.5in perhaps? Is this what you are looking for? (timestamped, so will take you there right away.)
ua-cam.com/video/ooImNqpcDak/v-deo.html
@@CarSceneKoreaYes, that’s it! I had not seen this video before. Thanks!
Were you able to test drive the different powertrains? This car is on my list of candidates for an upgrade but I'm curious how the 4 cylinder differs with the hybrid engine and turbo charge. Love your content the last few weeks on the car coverage.
2.5T 2WD is the only type available in Korea at the moment. I will test drive other ones when available :)
Noise insulation to floor is easy job if you want reduce to road noise further.
I am hoping for a PHEV that as a five seater which would give more room for a bigger battery. 🤞🏼
I'm gonna buy one
@CarSceneKorea - great videos and partly the reason why I have ordered a 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy in the USA. However a question regarding the Digital Center Mirror. From looking at the US Owners Manual, and also from the DCM section of this video it looks like the Digital Center Mirror doesn't have the 3 Home Link buttons (unlike the DCM on the Ioniq 5 Limited). Are you able to validate this and also confirm how HomeLink therefore works on the Calligraphy Trim - are their Home Link buttons somewhere else?
Also, in looking at the 2024 Kia Sorento Owner's Manual then that car does have HomeLink buttons on the Digital Center Mirror which makes the omission on the Santa Fe DCM even more odd. I don't recall this being mentioned on any of the comparison videos and therefore where the HomeLink feature is on the Santa Fe equipped with DCM?
Domestic Korean models never got HomeLink button bc Korean market doesn’t really need(use) them. If it was available in the prefacelift model in your market, most likely it will come with it. Sorento having it also boosts the chance. Sorentos in Korea do not have HomeLink either.
Hey man, thank you for all these videos! Very detailed and tempting! Can't wait for it coming to North America. I do have another question about this vehicle. Is there other display mode or style of the instrument cluster? The 2023 Santa Fe and Sorrento offer lots of options and they all look pretty nice. But the one shown in the 2024 Santa Fe video looks pretty raw.
I believe so. There are a few theme to choose from.
The people recognized the real reviewer.🎉
Got damm.
Thanks! 🙌
Thanks for the great video. Will there by a two row option for the USA?
Sure hope so. That'd depend on Hyundai USA.
Need this in the US NOW! 😍
NOW!
I like the size of Sorento and Santa Fe. for everyday driving.
I enjoy your presentations. I am starting to get interested in SANTA FE instead of TUCSON, but I have to wait and see what kind of hybrid engines will be available in EU. Is there any video of yours showing the color pallete of SANTA FE?
Hope you checked this video out: ua-cam.com/video/LNLxUHsONZk/v-deo.htmlsi=B_Oa5Yx1MKXZ5cdj
There are a few clips of them in the beginning.
Congratulations, very nice presentation of this beautiful new Santa Fe 2024, can not wait to see it in person here in Quebec (Canada). You made the test drive with a 2WD, any observations with the AWD? When you did the test with the rear window (going up) (the arm test) are the rear windows automatic? You mentioned in your other video 4, 5 and 7 seats. Is the trunk space increased with the 4 and 5 seats version? For the road noises (with tires) here the Michelin have the quiet ride (they are expensive, but worth it) but winter we have to ride on winter tires (it the law) so it is a noisy but safe ride. On a final note. Santa Fe 2024 or Palisade 23-24.
Haven't had the chance to test drive HTRAC yet. Rear windows are fully automatic, there are 5, 6 and 7 seaters for Santa Fe. Never mentioned there being a 4 seater. Trunk space is larger for 5 seater, same - if not very similar - with 6 & 7 seaters. Santa Fe got Pirelli not Michelin this time. For the comparison amongst current models available, I'd go Santa Fe, but come all-new Palisade, it will be the king as it always has been.
Thank you so much for your quick response and feed back. For the number of seat, my bad I was not sure what you had mentioned. I do look at numerous auto videos. I will say your are the one that describes what I, as a consumer want to hear (please note I am a French person if I make spleling errors). I have also looked at 2 more of your videos since yesterday. Very instructive. Happy holidays from Quebec. @@CarSceneKorea
I spent my youth in Canada, it's my second home :) Happy holidays!
All my videos have over 30 different language subtitles including French, make a use of it :)
Do they make a AWD Trail Edition. Or full time 4 wheel drive Off road type version ? 😊 Good video sir.
There is HTRAC available, which is AWD for Hyundai and there also will be a production model of XRT Concept we saw. Hope it won't be watered down too much!
I realize the PHEV powertrain will not be offered in Korea, but do you have any info on it for the North American market?
I'm hoping it will receive a bigger battery thus giving it a longer battery only range compared to the previous model.
No info on the PHEV yet 🥲
:(@@CarSceneKorea
Excellent, watched all your videos. QUESTIONS: 1. Can the 'auto-engine off' feature that turns engine on/off at stoplights, etc. be kept on from ignition to ignition or does it need to be activated each time you start the car? 2. I haven't seen any sunglass storage compartments, is that true?
Thanks for watching. 1. It automatically turns on every time. It’s there to meet the fuel efficiency hence you’d have to turn it off manually every time. 2. It’s not there. Been some time that went away from Hyundai cars.
Thanks for all the information!!
@@CarSceneKorea
Did you literally wing this entire thing? Impressive
I have bullet points on my notes, but yeah no script. Tried it, doesn’t work with me 🤣 Thanks for the compliment!
Great video! Do you know if the US will be getting the matte white color trim (calligraphy) in hybrid model?
11 Exterior colors in North America

- Ecotronic Gray Pearl
- Ecotronic Gray Matte
- Ultimate Red Metallic
- Earthy Brass Metallic Matte(얼씨 브레스 메탈릭 매트)

@@CarSceneKorea thanks for the info! Bummer that we won’t get the matte whiteㅠ
Love your videos. The window pinch guard feature is a legal requirement that goes back to the early or mid 1990s. You cannot sell a car in Europe or US or Canada with an express up windows without having a mechanism to protect the occupants arms or neck. The Sunroof should have the same feature, if it has an express close (one touch) feature. Try any BMW or Volvo or Mercedes from the mid 1990s and they will all have this feature
I know which window to stick my arms into next 😝
Is it quieter than the current Santa Fe? The road noise is a bit high in the one I have. I still have the original tires (Hankook) and are hoping to replace them with something quieter in the next few thousand miles.
Although I didn't do any back-to-back comparison, I can assure you it will be quieter than the last gen. Tires, sound absorbing materials, acoustic glasses and windows, the list goes on.
Question. Can you control the 3rd row atmosphere/Temperature from the main front console?
I remember you can do so with the second row, not sure about third row 🥲
설명이 자세해서 좋네요
시청해주셔서 감사합니다! :)
The built-in cam looks nice. Shame it does not appear to be available on US-spec models.
Can just the middle seat be folded down on the 2+3+2 configuration? So it looks more like a 6 seater.
The bench seat in the middle is composed of 1+2 seat configuration, so it'd be no 🥲
Are the spaces in the 3rd row of seats bigger, compared to the previous (MX5) generation Hyundai Santa Fe model, and what about the headroom for a 175-180cm person, for example?. 🤔
I am 176cm tall, 3rd row will be okay enough for 180cm tall person too. Largest in the segment for sure.
@@CarSceneKorea 👍🏼😉
Could you go and test the off-road characteristics of the AWD model somewhere, where the terrain is suitably difficult, challenging and where the four-wheel drive system etc. auxiliary systems have to work (It's a shame that there is no XRT package model coming (at least for now), although a concept model has already been developed from this newer (MX5) generation model...) ?. 🤔
Would love to when I can get my hands on the HTRAC(AWD) model!
I assume same as before. Not the worst, not the best. Real 4WD system at least works great for slippery roads.
Trading my Volvo for this beauty!! Wow
What is the wind noise like during highway speeds? Another korean reviewer stated it was loud during highway speeds😢
Given this being a Santa Fe and with the price tag the car has, I really couldn't complain a thing about it. The noise level is very subjective, but I find it hard to describe this car being loud at any circumstance.
Wanted to let everyone know that Santa Fe now has wireless AA/CarPlay with update, thanks to ccNC this Santa Fe has :)
Looks like land rover but is way more reliable. You can tell by it not breaking down during the first ride. And is like 1/3 of the price of a LR so it's a no brainer.
You are very lucky in Korea that the calligraphy model comes with the massage seat and relaxation seat. So sad that North America doesn't get that...
One benefit of living in mother country of Genesis, Hyundai and Kia indeed.
I love your car reviews - very thorough and independent, allowing me to visualize driving it .
Much appreciated!
Did you find a spare tire (even small one)? Some info says that 2024 Santa Fe has as all previous Santa Fe, others says no spare tire.
There is no spare tire for domestic models. Overseas may vary.
Q : is the seats steff as old sants fe ? for travelling need to be more cushioning
Depends on which row you're talking about, the first and second (captain seats) have improved greatly. The third remains identical - to my standard - given the nature being.
How is the 2.5 turbo. Does it burn oil? Does the motor need to be replaced every 20.000 miles?
No real world data on that yet since this isn't being delivered atm.
I need that HDA update in my 2023 Genesis. HDA in my car can only go straight and that's about it
Haha it's not that bad, but this LFA2 + HDA2 works like a charm indeed!
how about 2nd row captain seat vs 2nd row 3 seater, which one would you prefer?
Would depend on your lifestyle + who sits on the second row seat, I guess. The biggest difference would be being able to fold the 2nd row flat versus not. Captain seats do have a huge space in the middle.
Is this Santa Fe significantly smaller than the Palisade? Or are they more closely the same size than they are different?
They are two different cars in size and many more. Direct comparison vid coming up soon!
Hope this comes to the Philippines soon. Will there be a diesel drivetrain for this one?
No more diesel on Santa Fe.
will American models get a bench seat on high end trims?
Would depend on Hyundai USA, but most likely.
I have a Genesis GV70 2.5T. Besides having more room, what would I gain or lose by selling the GV70 and buying the new Santa Fe? Thanks
Some HP, and a lot of Genesis luxury features (not sure on the second one)
Things you get from Genesis brand itself - value, luxury, superior parts inside-out and even underneath, service - the list goes on. If GV70 is good enough for you considering the life style you'd have with the car, I say GV70 is the winner hands down. However, if you see the Santa Fe suiting your life style better with regards to the space, affordable, cost-effective and all, Santa Fe would still be a great choice. In a nut shell, if GV70 suits your life style, go with GV70, I'd only go with Santa Fe when you absolutely need the feature that Santa Fe exclusively has over GV70.
@@CarSceneKorea Well said, Good points. I'll keep the GV70. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. I have to say though the new Santa Fe looks amazing.
What do you thınk about kıa sorento 2024.?whıch one is better.? Kıa sorento or hyundai santa fe? Thx
Santa Fe is an all-new model, while Sorento being a facelift. However, Santa Fe uses the same chassis from the facelift, so it really boils down to a personal taste - be it the looks or practicality, etc. - my vote goes to Santa Fe hands down.
Would be great to get a quantitative noise level in dB. That helps standardize the noise measurement. Lots of free apps on mobile.
That's a great idea!
Here's the noise level for XRT trim with AT tires is 57dB. That is very quiet. I bet the hybrid will be better.
Does anyone know if the acoustic glass is more expensive to replace if it gets broken? Especially the windshield? I was curious if the extra warranty might be a good idea?
I want a two row version with the 3rd row armrest removed. You'd be able to fit a 4x8 sheet.
@CarSceneKorea Hev or Gas version which one you prefer ?
HEV for me most of the time!
Thank you for the replay … you don’t feel hev hp & torque is not enough comparing to the car weight and size ?
Unfortunately, the wet DCT has been having some failures and have to be replaced. My DCT was replaced at 32,000 miles ( 50k km) under warranty.
Was it the 8spd wet DCT? I didn't hear much issues about them despite them being installed on tracked Ns.
Yes on the Sorento. Many problems teported in the USA
Hope this will be available in Indonesia soon 🙏
Bring this beauty already Hyundai!
Hi, I haven't seen a demo of the bose stereo for the 2024 Santa Fe on youtube and was wondering if you would be interested in this and testing and recording it.
I don’t really cover speakers and sound system on my review since I know little to none about them. Great speakers with strong bass though, BOSE after all.
@@CarSceneKoreaok,thanks
Considering the winter conditions in Pohjola (the north), do all the windows (including the side windows) have electric heating?🤔
...that the windows don't freeze and the motor of the electric side windows breaks down!.
Hyundai Motor Group has their proving grounds in both extreme weathers - hot(desert) & cold(tundra) - sure hope they'd tested those out before pushing it out the factory lines.
Can you please compare 2023 Santa Fe vs 2024 Santa Fe and give your honest opinion
I was going to buy 23 Santa Fe and the new one has launched, i am confused
I absolutely love the interior on 23 model gives like a pilot feeling, haven't seen 24 model in person looks good in videos but i dont have my own hands on experience of it . Awaiting for your feedback
Very subjective, but there are hundreds of people working to better the interior of 2024 SF from previous generation - this ought to be objective approach that 2024's interior is and should be better in all aspect. I also personally think that interior on 2024 SF is better than any SUV of its segment in the current market.
Is it possible 360 camera to be used as security camera when car is turned off?
Just the front & rear.
Thanks @@CarSceneKorea. You are doing great rewires. Keep it up!
Is the windshield heated and has the suspension stiffening/softening feature?
It does not have ECS, electronically controlled suspensions. Not sure what you mean by heated windshield.
@@CarSceneKorea heated means i do not need to scrub ice in the winter time...thanks for the video and for ur reply
I don't think the car will preheat the front window. It'd just be like regular cars out there. Turning on a defroster or placing a cardboard before the night 🥲
@@CarSceneKorea every Ford and every Nissan has that as a standard feature. I really needed that in my mazda as a had ice inside the car in the morning. This is a problem in many mazda and toyota cars so maybe because of that I always want a heated windshield along with heated mirrors. This is of course not a deal breaker as not even BMW and Mercedes allow that in the configurator for most of their models. VW (skoda,VW, audi [seat excluded]) are now have that on newer models, however. This is a good trend in my opinion, especially for sedans and wagons. I am not sure why, but this icing thing affect less SUV sized cars. is the suspension stiff enough on corners? how did you like it? SUV this size is by all means not a sport car, but I like to take corners without the feeling the car could roll ;)
Can you please tell if it has automatic parking, hands free parking?
Does not come with RSPA, Remote Smart Parking Assist. You can pull the car straight in and out though, using a remote key.
@@CarSceneKoreadarn :( I am looking at this and Ford Explorer 2024, but in my country roads are smaller and parking spaces from 80s :) And for car this big, I'd want automatic parking, as I am used to it now on bmw
Hi , do you know the car has Park assist features ?
It has RSPA, Remote Smart Parking Assist.
Have you commented on the availability of Apple Carplay or android auto? If installed, is it wireless? Great video. Get some rest. 😄
Comes with AA and AC, but not wireless. Wire connection still required 🥲
@@CarSceneKoreacould have sworn in a different video you said it was wireless.. why would anyone care about wireless charging without wireless AA/AC?
@@expired8 Santa Fe at the time of the test drive didn't support wireless AA/CarPlay, but it's now wireless with the update via ccNC, which this Santa Fe has - Think this is where the confusion came from. So they are "now" wireless!
I like it......☺
Do you feel body roll when making turn?
I'd be lying if I say I don't feel anything, but it is very refined and well "suppressed." Certainly was way above my expectation, must be the roll center Hyundai has upgraded on this Santa Fe and the suspension set-up's. I went over more about in my test drive video:

Is the glove box actually cooled like in older Santas?
Nope, just a regular box.
That’s a pity to hear. Such a practical thing to cool down bottles. Hope HKMC keeps it in at least some models.
What is the best color of santa fe? Can you please tell me
My personal favorite always has been Earthy Brass Metallic Matte sine day one, but it's really a personal taste.
How much more does the 2024 cost compared to the 2023 Santa Fe?
Around $2,000 USD increase give or take.
WHat is the price difference between the new Sata Fe vs. the Old & The Palisade?
It makes little difference. There is a difference of about 3 million won based on the base model.
It would boil down to a personal preference, I think. Palisade certainly is a "better" car than Santa Fe because of the category being, but I would always go with a loaded car than base trim next level car anything. If space matters for someone, SF just cannot replace Palisade.
I'm wondering if the Palisade will be redesigned as well.
Yep, it will be an all-new in fact, currently being tested in Korea under camo.
Please speak on the sound system and it’s quality/loudness/clarity and especially speaker placement. Thanks
I rarely cover speakers and sound system on car reviews because I believe that is one of the most subjective category within the vehicle + I know little to none about speakers and sounds. However, I really loved the BOSE base this Santa Fe gave me.
@@CarSceneKorea okay thank you. I appreciate your transparency my friend. Then maybe please just tell us how many speakers there in total and where they are located around the vehicle? Thank you
12 speakers with external amp, BOSE sound system :)
wow! thank you so much friend!

They will catch on fire?
I wonder how many of these features will come to the states
Heard they are watered down quite a lot 🥲
How much bigger is this compard to a model Y?
I didn't get the chance to check that out 🥲
How high is the step-in height of the 2024 vs 2023?
Couldn't get that info on time, sry.
