it isn´t for the wind direction. It´s an indicator for the forces on your airplane if you use enough rudder

I took a glider flight and it was really bumpy. I paid for a half hour but we stayed up for about an hour because my pilot said the conditions were awesome. This ride looks a lot more smooth.
Sounds like you hit some turbulent winds, it probably helped the glider stay in the air longer

It's a thermal it's how all glider pilots gain altitude once there in the air

@@Jdkejdnfjef Incorrect. Thermals are just hot air moving upwards. Mountains can be thermals, but mountains can provide lift without the use of thermal air.

For people wondering why he circles the Area at around 4:34 , He as crazy upwinds there and tries to get as much altitude out of them as he can. Even more at about 6:50 .

like... it almost makes me nervous, as if something isn't right XD
The micro of the DJI Osmo Action cam is not perfect, but the ASG29 is not so loud either.
I agree about the silence, but I'm more impressed about how responsive are the ailerons at high speed.

I love it!. It first glance it seems to be easier, but the more you go through I think it's like an art of knowing the wind and mountains... another thing is that the lack of engines seems to make the landing rougher.

@@monkeydgarp6394 in my country the licence costs 4500€ at least and it will take you 200 hours of training if I remember correctly. The pulling is 60 € and then it's 40 for the first hour, 20 € the second 10€ the third and free for the rest of the time. Or something like that ... So it's not cheap but neither so expensive

Loved the bit towards the end where you flew down the slope and did to low pass over the edge of that plateau. It looked lower than it was because I saw the houses and they were looked like they were 500' below but yeah it was very dramatic.

this reminds me of when my father took me out to fly backseat in a blackshape prime ultra light and i by coincidence had the honour of flying with an ex f16 pilot with 18000 flight hours. that guy practically lives in a plane i guess. it was a really fun and amazing experience

I was wondering the same thing. I was never rich enough to have time enough. Somehow, I got my flying time but almost never away from my home glider port. I'm just glad I purchased an older high performance, complex glider, Diamant-18, back in 1982 that takes me cross country often in the Rocky Mountains, USA. It has never disappointed me. It keeps me aloft, takes me far, and never tries to kill me even when I make a mistake. One man rigging since 1984 has been wonderful.
