- The new flower bed I'm building ( • RUSTIC FLOWER & HERB B... ) next to my new garden fence is coming along great! We've got soil all topped off, ready for amendments. Every year for Mother's Day, Todd takes me to a nursery and let's me pick out whatever I want. This year, I filled my entire cart with 118 different flowering plants, to plant in the new bed. Happy Mother's Day. My son got me flowers... the plastic kind. I have the brownest thumb and even fresh cut flowers die quickly in my presence. These will forever be beautiful. I love watching other people plant gardens and crops. Watching makes me happy. :)

This year I took myself plant shopping! First time ever shopping for perennials and more of the pretty stuff! I’m so excited 😆 next I’ll be shopping to fill in the 2 green stalks my hubby got me 💜

I have the same tradition with mom. I take her shopping for her flowers each year on mother's day's (Friday to skip the crowds)

I am my better halfs caregiver and take care of our 4 kids. We're still struggling so I couldn't afford to go out to eat but I spent the day with my family and my kids made me hand painted pictures as gifts so that was perfect!!!!

OH HAPPY MOTHERS DAY !!! I did exactly the same thing & spent my day in the vege garden. We celebrated Mothers Day on Saturday with our Family due to their other studying commitments (Daughter in Law works in Cancer trials at our main hospital) but fabulous day. Marcia here...my daughter & fiance made 2 large waist high raised beds. We spent the day placing & filling them then planting. Have to cover all our vege beds at night until Wed. Morning. Love mid- MI weather. Happy Mother's Day. Can't wait to see your beds a blooming.
Take pictures of your garden and then every couple weeks so that we can see the progress! Good job!

Come back in July!??? With a garden like that I can sit outside everyday and watch it grow. Lol My dirt spots are usually on my forehead. 🤣 You and I share a love of gardens and gardening. Our own gardens or those belonging to others. I find my garden to be a place where I find peace and patience. It's one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. My veggie garden feeds my soul as well as my family. I have found your channel to be very helpful so thank you for all that you share with us. Happy Mother's Day!

I can't wait until things fill out and flower, it's going to be beautiful. You mentioned creeping flox and you put an idea in my head that I think will work. I have railroad ties along my driveway and the creeping flox would probably do really well there. Can't wait to plant some. Thanks!💮💮
So glad you had a great Mothers Day, dirt mustache and all, lol! We had a great Mothers Day visit from our daughters and grandchildren, and had a gender reveal on the patio to find out we have another grandson on the way! He will be Number 5, lol! One of my sons-in-law also helped me put back the cucumber trellis I built Saturday but didn't stake down. A big storm rolled through Saturday night and blew it over! Luckily it didn't break or damage anything else. You can bet it is staked now, lol! It's an A-frame made with 2x4s and chain link fence. I hope to get some livestock panels for my squash and watermelons.

We rebuilt and extended a flower garden by the house this year - I am trying to build it out to be a 3 seasons bed. It will probably take a few years to get the right things in place. I love your garden with the logs as the edging - it will be fun to watch this grow up and blossom! Happy Mother’s Day!

I have a drift rose bush and I love it. It grows close to grown in small mounds. It is in its 3rd year and about 4 ft wide. 🥰 Happy Mothers Day!!

The insects will love it. The wood log border is like a giant bug hotel. Will look so nice once everything starts growing over and through it. Creeping plants, moss, mushrooms, etc. It will be beautiful once its established.
You could even drill holes in the end of the logs for the solitary bees (mason & leaf cutter bees) they are fantastic pollinators, much more efficient than honey bees at pollinating. I think its like one solitary bee can do the work of 600 honey bees.

I'm excited for you! it's going to look amazing when everything's in bloom and growing through the logs, can't wait to see an update in summer. Garden centre shopping is the most fun! It was my birthday this weekend and I requested plant shopping for a treat too.
Rose Campion is incredible in bloom, you can get white and magenta ones, the pink looks beautiful against the blue furry leaves. They're biennial, grow in the first year bloom in their second then die back, but they self seed like crazy so they'll keep coming back :)
