Did you explain the differences? IS square cut a full chisel vs semi chisel? I'm just asking for education. Also I heard skipp chain. Can you show differences? Thanks.
Great information! Appreciate you taking the time to do that! I’m really starting to like the HEXA for how quick and easy it is touch up. I’m not after a real fast cutting chain, I want durable, low pull and chips. I’m currently working on semi chisel .404 HEXA. It’s still experimental but I’m hopeful 🤞
Good job Smitty you got that chain cutting good!!!. I clean the gullet out with a 11/64 and finish with a 7/32 at 22.5° keeping the file just touching the tops of the chain links rakers at .040. It's wicked fast in oak cherry and hickory type wood but it takes something with some ass to pull it lol I wonder how mine would stack up 🤔.
I love skip. I may send you one. I'm not saying it's any faster but it's what I like. I know my file on a Stihl rs skip is faster than c83 out of the box.
No surprise to me your grind was faster! Out of the box just isn't what it used to be just about like anything else these days quality has gone downhill! Good job for sure!
That was a lot of a work….thanks for doing this.
Yes it was
Nice work ! I like how you mention durability of the edge.
Thanks! 👍

Square is always full chisel. Skip can be faster if you are lacking enough torque to pull a full house. Non of this chain is skip.

Glad it was helpful!
Very interesting stuff thank u Smitty appreciate it brother
Glad you enjoyed it
Interesting content. Alot of chain swapping. Have a great day.
Thanks, you too!
@chrismunce , will you mail him a chain to demo?
Interested in how it does.
I may do it. It would be interesting to see. I cut very dense wood here on the south so I'm sure mine would Perform different.
I have a hand filed square coming but you know how some people do better than others. I’m still hoping for more.
Nice comparison of chains, I just try and get the tree on the ground in less than a hour 😅😅😅
Lol!
That's good editing...what software do you use? Mine won't even do side by side video.
It’s built into my iPhone

Sounds good, send Smitty one of your chains to see how yours goes against his.
Only one way to find out!
So your chain is a round file gring ?
Round grind
Great job Smitty!🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank you 🤗
Keep up the good work bud
Thanks, you too!
What is your grind?
It’s been so long I can’t remember the exact grind.

I hope you are sent some chains to compare. No use me sending you one as I’m happy if it just cuts after sharpening.
I got a hand file square coming. Hopefully I can get a machine grind square also but nobody has offered yet.
