      @Smittyschainsaws I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and it seems it's kinda hot or miss with those rim sprockets and some other saw parts also. I like the chain sharpening videos and the porting videos you do. Man you seem really familiar. Where are you from? I think I've met you somewhere before but I can't figure out where.

    what you'll find out in time: bar rail closer are a bandaid at best. When drawing the rails closer together, youre tipping the rails in, not drawing the entire depth of the rail in. As a result, the chain isnt contacting much of the rails. The chain will be sloppy in the bar again fairly soon.

    Waste. But if you've got plenty of wood and don't mind all the chips, you're golden. I'm planning on using totes when I start cutting in NY. All my cookies will go into totes haphazardly.

    @ragercrepair9301 6 днів тому

    Totally sweet! What carb are you running on the middle saw?

  • @Techno_Nomadic
    @Techno_Nomadic 7 днів тому

    Main reason we cut logs and split it is because of the waste from all the cuts. Depending on the saw, each cut turns about 3/8" of wood into chips. Say you've got a 8' log and you're going to do 2" cookies. That's 40 cuts with a 15" loss. The math is rough, but I think it comes out to a 1/6th cord loss per cord cut all into sawdust.

    • @ericmorin9613
      @ericmorin9613 7 днів тому

      Also if doing 2 inch cookies opposed to 16 inch logs you would burn 8 times the amount of fuel along with 8 times more wear and tear on your gear.

  • @ragercrepair9301
    @ragercrepair9301 7 днів тому

  • @nseric1233

    I have the same saw but it’s setup for cutting firewood. The 5200 performance intake (available on eBay) with a 372 carb really ups the rpm. I bet it would work well with your setup too.

  • @nseric1233
    @nseric1233 7 днів тому

    If you have some old Apple crates or bins like that storing the cookies for firewood would be really easy. Just fill em up and move them to the building with the tractor when you need them.
