Interesting that we discuss absolute immunity and personal immunity. The point of immunity is for a president to not be distracted while running a country. For example, the Cubans invade Florida while the President is in court. He is still held accountable through the impeachment process. As far as questioning the election results, he has that right whether President or contender. Election interference happens when that right is denied as happened in GA

We are supposed to have three co-equal branches of government: legislative, judicial, and executive. But if the judiciary sits in judgement of what the president can and cannot do, then the judicial branch is elevating itself over the executive branch giving control to the only one of the three branches that isn’t elected to office.

SCOTUS doesn’t In judgment of anyone. SCOTUS sits to interpret the Constitution and how it applies, or does not apply, to cases before them.
@@debrasnipes7431 The constitution doesn’t contain any words that address the issue of presidential immunity. But the president has to have some implied immunity to do his job for the same reason that judges have implied immunity to do theirs. The justices seem to be charting immunity along the dividing line of what (they think) constitutes an official or personal presidential act. The decision by the court is a “judgment” just like it is in every other case and it’s that judgment that’s potentially elevating the judicial branch over the executive branch.

Police don't have immunity and judges only have immunity for judicial acts, but not for civil acts.

If a president has total immunity, they are exempt from prosecution even in civil cases and personal acts that are considered a crime. Why didn't Trumps lawyer argue hey if you do find him out of the protection he thought he was protected so he should have the case thrown out because theres no intent and so all future cases must meet the new standard.

When the law is not clearly defined then it's up to scotus to fix it and the right thing to do is throw out his case and new standard for future will be set by them about immunity .
