The phrasing and terminology is reminiscent of Dr. Jolly West's mk ultra, meaning calling it an NDA is not sexy, doesn't invoke emotional response, however, "hush" money is cloaked in secrecy, otherwise why hush? It's all part of the Edward Bernays technique
@suzukibeane1220 no it isn't. Calling them legal expense when they are reimbursements is an expired misdemeanor. This was charged as felony because?....Bragg hasn't said...only that there was an underlying crime. I'd think he needs to show one and prosecute it to conviction before using it as an enhancement to resurrect these bookkeeping issues. Consider Hillary was fined when she called her payments for the Steele Dossier as legal expenses.
At this point I'm just happy that this trial is taking place. It shows so blatantly that how the system can be used. If they can do this to Trump, they dam well can do it to anyone.
They have. Our courts and judges have been hopelessly corrupt for a long time, but they usually go after the poor or people nobody care about. Now they’re going after the former POTUS, so everyone can see it.

I must be obtuse, because I can't figure out what crime has been committed. How in the world did this case ever get to trial? Putting on a day time soap opera is not what a criminal trial is supposed to be about. A criminal trial is supposed to be about the prosecution proving the elements of a prima facie case. I just don't see it and therefore this case should never go to a jury. The judge has the opportunity to be a profile in courage if he grants a directed verdict of acquittal. We will soon see whether this judge will have the courage to do what he knows is just, right, and his ethical and sworn obligation to do.
After all the years, people combing through Trump’s life, and millions of dollars wasted, all anyone could come up with us a supposed accounting error. This doesn’t really go with the “Trump is an evil man! He will destroy America” talking points now does it?

From a bookeeping point of view, how else would an invoice from a lawyer be termed in the ledger? It appears the invoice was for miscellaneous services inclusive of non disclosure agreement, however, for bookeeping purposes, why would those extensive details be described?

McCarthy is the sharp one here. The other two are pitching for their preferred outcomes (as they see it should conclude).
What I think is going to be very interesting is when Mr. Costello says as a rebuttal witness that he presented dozens of documents that were exculpatory evidence and that evidence was not turned over to President Trump's legal team.

The reason Blanch went with Cohen's payments were fees not reimbursement is because that's what Cohen's invoice said and that was the understanding of the comptroller and bookkeeper, according to their testimony. Other than Cohen calling it a reimbursement, all the documentary evidence and testimony had it as fees.
