  • Meet 2 End-of-Life Doula Trailblazers in Latin America!
Sophia Plonski of Quito, Ecuador and Wilka Roig of San Miguel de Allende, are 2 women to keep up with in the Latin America movement of dying well in this modern era. They are doing ground breaking work in the area of introducing this role within mainstream healthcare as well as bringing green burial for the first time in San Miguel de Allende.
Sophia and Wilka created the Red Latinoamericana de Acompañamiento, leading the death consciousness movement in Latin America. Their mission is to identify and connect with individuals, communities, institutions and organizations that work and serve in the field of loss, mourning and the end of life, to define the network that sustains us, and through which we can achieve our goals in community for the greatest collective benefit. They are having their 2nd annual conference this year in San Miguel de Allende. Last year they had their innaugural meeting in Quito, Ecuador.
