If you want a detached phone setup you can get an inexpensive extension cable so you can leave the camera mounted and control it remotely albeit still wired. I just modelled one and printed it with the standard clamp. Can now use it with all action cam mounts and tripods. Look on thingie verse for a few different ones including mine.
Absolutely loved this Markus! I’ve been looking into getting a gimbal for my iPhone and after looking at so many models, I’m now down to two options. The battle is between the DJI Osmo Mobile 2 and the Freevisson Vilta M. . Btw I love what you did with the microphone stand. I’ve been using a michrophone stand to hold my iPhone for several years. Just needed to get my self a holder and a converter for the screw. 👍🏼
Jakob Haq Hi Jakob. yes it fits perfectly on a mic stand but thingyverse has several designs already that can be downloaded and make on 3d printers. plus theres metal versions which include the phone holder on amazon already.
That’s good.. but the flaw is still the battery.. can’t change.. have to carry power bank for longer video.. and then no external microphone at the same time! Hero 7 black all the way!
Also, wouldn't it be cool if the camera could track a Bluetooth/wifi device you'd keep on your person? That way, an auto-jib with this camera would be able to track, without face tracking.
Mark, nice job! Now where can I get the parts. With links. This is my 1st vloggin camera and I’m not familiar with anything you showed. But, I did see they marvelously well. Thanks for the help.
Joe A7Rii Hello Joe. the selfie stick came from amazon (just a generic extending stick) the mic holder is a sennheiser holder but you may find it hard to get hold of the brass converter as they do not always have that small thread on the other side. however there are several holders already turning up on amazon now for this camera that would work better than this mic holder.
I will go and hassle them in the Shenzhen store. They’re almost as bad as Canon :( and probably most camera manufacturers. Still a personal ‘rebuke’ might have a small effect.
naoyuki sasanami I dont think i would dare tear it down as i have seen the exploded diagram of this and theres many fine parts within the gimbal that i think i would break something if i opened it up.

BRIAN HALL Hi Brian yes they are taking their time to bring out the accessories. but they could have included the wifi as it is only 1 chip and gopro already have it built into their cameras.
@@markusfuller yes I agree with you also about wi/fi, I have the gopro 7 black and a gimble, dji have sent me a email to say the accessories are now in stock, but as I said I think they are saying the extras for a version 2, l enjoyed your videoand a happy new year.
Walter van Dusen Hello it is a sennheiser microphone holder though i cannot find a model number on it. the shure sm-57 holder will not work as that is a slimmer microphone.
Hello, all video was shot at 1080 30fps but the final video was compressed through handbrake to H264 to load onto youtube but i normally do that with all my videos before they are uploaded or it takes a whole day to upload.
Unfortunately, without connecting to a mobile device to change frame rate to 24fps, the user is stuck shooting at 30 or 60 with just the Osmo Pocket. Hopefully, DJI will change this with a firmware update.
James L Manley Jr Hi James the stick was just a cheap extending selfie stice from amazon and the microphone holder I used is made by sennheiser and they are generally all the same as long as you do not get the thinner sm57 version. the problem will be getting the brass adaptor that has that smaller thread on the other side as not all microphone adaptors have that on it and there is no brand name for it.
Given the face tracking capabilities, I wonder what would happen if you somehow motorized your jib boom? Would you still be tracked, as the jib translates vertically? Thanks for this video. Very informative! :)
What kind of mic holder is that. I tried that for my pocket and I had to put it in boiling water stretch it out and use a hair tie on it. I really like your idea if I can find the right one
Thomas Laborde Hello it is a sennheiser microphone holder , i tried a shure sm-57mic holder but it was too slim. i guess the sennheiser mics must be slightly larger. i cannot find a model number on the mic holder.
Okay, while I think the Pocket is a neat little device, I can't see any practical reason for buying one? Its tiny size would make it a good spy cam which would allow you to secretly record video of people without them really noticing you. However, if I owned one, I struggle to think of situations I could use the Pocket on a daily basis. It doesn't seem like its very useful. I'm sure its a cool toy to pull out on occasion, but considering the high cost, the occasional use doesn't make it a very practical device to own.
KSmack Volleyball True as I seem to use the gopro for everything and i have dropped it a few times but it still works. i cannot see the osmo surviving a drop.
Hi the external mic has to go through a digital convertor via the USB-C port. there are several of these adaptors already made for google phones etc but a lot of them will not work correctly. I have been reading the DJI forums to find which versions will work.
Hello A. Muhammad I have been told the WC-7930 adaptor will work as a USB-C to 3.5mm adaptor. some of them will not work but apparently this one will. Best wishes from Markus
Lots of these cheap Chinese clones on eBay and Amazon often come with lots of accessories and adapters which are often worth more than camera! Might be worth getting a cheap one just for the bits or you could just make your own with your 3d printer mark
T. Jay Hi its the Sennheiser version (cannot find the model number) but it should work with most versions of large handheld microphone holders although i found the shure sm57 version was too small but then that mic is much thinner.
Sneaky idea, though not very positive grip. I’m looking at the 3D printed one going the rounds, for GoPro mounts. I don’t have a GoPro but I have cheap action cams with the same mount.
The Begg Family Antics the mic holder has a fairly good grip and you can hold the camera upside down without it falling out, though i guess with lots of movement it will eventually allow the camera to slip out so it is not secure but the right way up on a selfie should be no problem.
