You get the point. Most people think a gimbal is only a alternativ stabilisation method.
But the key advantage of a gimbal-cam is not stabilisation. The real advantages are the tracking features, motion control from the ground and the use on a boom-pole for jib- or crane shot with minimal setup-time using lightweight and cheap equipment.

Pro mode: tap the top left of the screen on the pocket to access the settings
FPV mode: is meant for experiential filming like on a ride at a theme park or riding in a car with a friend

Hey Jeven, great video! Content suggestion and something I need... help with editing workflow for this type of video. I see a ton of cuts in your work, which is awesome as you keep things on point, but how the heck do you do that from shooting to post? I literally have to watch all my clips (and in one session), front to back to find what I need to stay on subject. Do you have any suggestions about how to get what you want without storyboarding or scripting out the whole video or is that what you’re doing to get the final product? Thanks again. Very good material.

Awesome Jeven, been using mine for a few weeks now and have the Freewell set which is a great addition. Only thing I noticed in a few of your potential stock shots up the mountain was the old focus pumping issue everyone is hoping will be reduced in future firmware updates. However for stock shots in Pro mode I just lock the focus before recording by pressing and holding the subject on the phone screen till I see the little lock icon show. Personally I don't think the focus pumping is a big deal for vlogging shots and on b-roll it's sometimes barely noticeable but if someone was to buy a shot and then notice it once downloaded and dropped on their project timeline they might be a bit miffed. Anyway just a tip that might be worth mentioning in another vlog ;)

I used it snowboarding last weekend but haven't had time to put together an edit yet. Unfortunately it was really wet and foggy conditions which caused problems getting focus. Other than that it worked pretty well. The moisture didn't affect its operation. It was a little cumbersome to pull out the phone if I wanted to change settings. I wish there was a way to make quickly accessible presets that could be recalled from the device. The small buttons were a bit difficult to operate with gloves but still usable. Footage was nice and smooth in follow and tilt lock modes and the tighter lens angle makes a much better shot than the gopro imo. I would still like option to use it on a backpack, helmet, and pole mount to gain more versatility. I also say that some sort of ND filter is a must. I used the Freewell NDPL 16 and 32 most of the time.

Excellent report here. Stock footage that is unique or difficult to get will set you apart...not recommending dangerous stuff - just places less traveled. Not everyone will hike the Grand Canyon, or through old growth forest. Or inner cities.

Hi Jeven, FPV mode on the Osmo pocket is a great feature if you're axis is going to exceed the horizon. If you're on a roller coaster for example. You'll actually find that any other mode doesn't record any form of usable footage. 👍

This is one of your better vid's. I cant really pinpoint why or what it is specifically, but thats what makes a great video/movie/doc./picture what have you. That "thing" twhat indescribable factor, the X if you want to get all Gouda cheese about it, is what makes filming fun and why I have caught the bug. Good on yeah, and you basically pushed me over and going to get. And with my luck the next best thing will come out tom. haha
