one reason to get just the selfie stick itself (the 114cm one) is that the bottom of it has a 1/4" thread, allowing you to attach it to any tripod or clamp of your choice. it also allows you to put counterweights on the end of the selfie stick, which improves handling and balance when a heavy object is on the end of the fully extended selfie stick.
Jefferson, I bought the insta360 from your recommendation in an earlier podcast. However, to use as a selfie stick, you can't articulate the iPhone to the best angle if you're holding it. The iPhone is stuck in a vertical position in relation to the insta360. Don't you have to place a mini-ball mount for 360 degree movement?
Hi! Thanks for watching. My phone is always in a horizontal position on the stick. With the SmartRig cage, I could re-position it to vertical if I wanted to, but that doesn't happen too often. For the Insta360, it's a camera meant to be held vertically, and connects to the top of the stick that way.
@@PhotowalksTV yes I know you do :D. I ment to comment to @e_piph_a_ny3377 Absolutely love this selfie stick as well. i dont know hot many gimbals I have bought, but I have never become friend with any of them. And after the action mode in iPhone 14 Pro, it is a game changer!
Love your videos. This selfie stick is very enticing. If you’re using it for walking, it seems like it might get pretty heavy after a while. My iPhone is as 12 pro max so I’ve had a few top heavy alternatives.
Just bought that on your recommendation. Its great. The only thing it could use would be a remote camera shutter button like the old selfie sticks have.
Manually. It's one fifth of the cost of a gimbal and I have my own specific uses for it, re making Photowalks videos. Other tools like Platypods and traditional tripods also very helpful! Thanks for watching.
I always use a selfie stick tripod. I clip a Bluetooth remote to it. Much more stable than without AND singlehanded operation. And it fits in my pocket. But mine ( I have several) isn't as long as yours. But still good for getting above the crowds. Sure the tripod isn't v stable but I don't want to carry around a steel girder!!! I'm currently using a Ulanzi MT16 which has a ball head with a Ulanzi ST-06S phone clamp. Blessings
Why do some people have 4k walking adventure vlogs and the images looks like it is bouncing as they are walking - while others have a reasonable stability of their output video also walking along the same stretch of road.
A gimbal on a smart phone will still result in a bouncy walking image. Perhaps they shot it on the DJI Osmo, which is a little smoother, or a higher end gimbal with a mirrorless camera?
Bad video, where is the comparison videos of walking down the street with the selfie stick and the gimbal? There is none. I think he was too ashamed to show the bouncing wobble of the selfie stick compared to the smooth gimbal.
Thanks for chiming in. Sorry, this wasn't a comparison video, just a rant from me about my love for the selfie stick. But you bring up a good point, and I'll do a better job of before/after footage in the sequel.
Appreciate you taking the time to share this information. Thank you!
Happy to help. Keep the requests coming!

Great point! I better add one to the collection!
Really useful, thank you.

Just buy and mount something like Ulanzi ST-06. I use it over mine Insta360 stick, and it's brilliant.
@@torbjornhb Since I have a cage, it screws right into the Stick. I also have the Ulanzi for when I'm not using the Stick.

As selfie stick. How would you tilt it up or down ? Wouldnt the photos just be directional ?
With your hands. There's no ball-head on a selfie stick.
Oh darn. any suggestions on quality “ball” that youve tested thats decent price?@@PhotowalksTV

The Selfie Stick is not heavy at all. And it fits in your pocket! Thanks for watching.

Thanks Richard! Bluetooth would be great but I don’t see Insta360 doing it. They want us using it with their camera!
Very cool! Very versatile.
However, I noticed that a gimbal can be moved to different angles. Does your combo allow for that?

@@PhotowalksTV Thanks for the reply.
Doesn’t come with Bluetooth remote for taking pics? And what’s the link of iPhone cage please
No Bluetooth. It's a $25 selfie stick with a combo tripod that comes in really handy in many instances. The cage: amzn.to/47fkn2a
which flash light are you using?
May I know about the light you use? When do you use it?
It's called the LumeCube, www.lumecube.com. When do I use it? At dusk, when I need additional light, usually outside.
@@PhotowalksTV Thank you!
i'm looking at this and the "TONEOF 153CM 360° Rotating"

I’m with you all the way! BTW I have bought six of the selfie sticks already
@@PhotowalksTV 6! Your beating me. I 'think' I have 4 haha.
One actually broke! Luckily only $25.
What do you use for a remote control with the selfie stick?
None! Sorry.
Still in search of a selfie stick with a remote shutter AND zoom control. Hard to find for iPhone!
when you find it, let me know. I want one too!
This sounds like a great rig
and only $25!
Perfect thanks
I just bought both the stick and phone holder thingy. Can’t wait

@@PhotowalksTV Thank You. Much appreciated 🙂
Does't seem this tripod would be good for long exposure....have you tried using for this?
It's a $25 selfie stick with a built-in tripod. Time to manage the expectations. That said, I have used it for timelapses and done fine.
i use it but it's shakier than my osmo 6.
